Oops, Mommy Slept With A Tyrant

Chapter 258 I Believe He’s The One Dying

Chapter 258 I Believe He’s The One Dying

Maxwell got to Budding Rose Hotel an hour after leaving the hospital, but couldn’t get in as some people were being wheeled out.

A few customers rushed out when they heard those in the executive suites had food poisoning.

As people who chose the hotel for its reputation of being safe, they were taken aback by the news.

Standing in the middle of the reception, a robust man sweated profusely under the air conditioning as he tried to calm the worried customers.

"Ladies and gentlemen, let’s not overreact, please. This food poisoning couldn’t have come from us. We get our food and drinks from very safe and reliable sources."

However, his earnest attempt to calm them only got the opposite reaction as numerous people yelled at him indignantly.

"Customers got food poisoning, doesn’t that mean your food and drinks aren’t coming from the right source?"

"That’s right. I pay such a huge sum of money to be here, not to be wheeled out on a stretcher!"

"A stretcher? Does that mean they died?"

"I didn’t see much, but they didn’t seem to be breathing when they were wheeled past my room."

The manager smiled forcefully, wiping his sweaty face with a handkerchief as he continued to assure them.

"Everyone, we will look into this. Don’t forget, people are allowed to come in with three drinks of their choice."

"While I do not want to question whether the men poisoned themselves on purpose, I want to show you that the hotel will get to the bottom of this."

"In fact, as an apology for what happened, the hotel will provide free food to every customer today."

The crowd went quiet for just a second before scoffing in disdain.

"They might’ve poisoned themselves on purpose? You must take us for toddlers!"

"Hmph! Who comes here just to kill themselves with poisoned drinks?"

"And you’ll give us free food and drinks? Do I look like I no longer care for my life?"

"First, tell us what happened to those men, and then you can talk about food and drinks. Otherwise, refund me this instant!"

"Yes, refund us! I’d rather go to a motel than stay here another minute!"

The customers filled the entire space, blocking every path to the elevators.

Maxwell watched from the back, his eyes narrowing.

The timing was too coincidental.

Knowing him, surely Luca would’ve figured out he’d be here so fast.

So... did he create this chaos to keep him out and escape?

Glancing around the clustered crowd, he took a step backward and turned to head back outside.

"People, please. Those men will be fine. Haven Medical Center will take good care of them, and then you’ll hear from their mouths that the food poisoning didn’t come from the hotel’s food."

"If it’ll make you feel any better, the hotel will personally buy food from outside to suit your needs. Please bear with us."

Even as Maxwell stepped out, the manager continued pleading on the hotel’s behalf.

Outside, Maxwell took out his phone and made a call.

"Budding Rose Hotel, who owns it?" He wheirined as soon as the call connected.

"One moment, sir." The person on the other end said promptly. After a few seconds of silence, he exhaled. "It’s a hotel under Adler Group."

Maxwell ended the call without another word.

Hiding in plain sight. That bold rascal.

Looking around the environment, he stretched and began walking toward the garage.

He didn’t know much about Luca, but he was sure he’d be preparing to leave. However, if he already came this far, he wouldn’t just leave until he finished off Kelsie completely.

In that case, he’d just wait for him at the hospital.

With that, he turned and began driving back.

Meanwhile, Kelsie was surrounded by nine people in her hospital room.

The triplets sat on the bed while the men were spread across the room, all still very surprised she had woken up so fast.

When Keira was kidnapped, Kelsie had managed to hide the first gunshot incident, but this one, she couldn’t.

She was numb from the pain relief, so she remained on the bed.

The children sat around trying to understand how their mother—who had taken them to school this morning without a limp—now winced with every movement.

"So Mommy isn’t dying?" Keira asked just to be sure and Jesse nudged her, huffing indignantly.

"Shut it."

Zade peered into Kelsie’a face with a relieved smile, "When Uncle Eric picked us up from school today, I wondered if it was because my 99 in science class annoyed you."

Before Kelsie could say anything, Keira paused, stiffly turning her neck to look at him. "You got 99?"

"Yes. I got the last question wrong," Zade hummed, already bracing for the taunting he knew would come next.

Keira thinned her lips and snuggled closer to Kelsie. "Mommy, this is not the best time to suggest this, but Zade really doesn’t seem to be your son."

Zade leered at her while Kelsie raised a surprised brow at him, "Since when do they grade your tests with numbers?"

"We got a new science teacher the same week Ms. Hastings left." Jesse promptly answered and Zade nodded in agreement.

Just then, the door opened and the doctor walked in, smiling broadly.

"Doctor, I was thinking... can I be wheeled around for a few minutes before resting again?" Kelsie inquired before he could say anything.

"No, you can’t." Jett responded before the doctor could, eyeing him sternly.

Kelsie chuckled. "I’m a doctor, Jett. Even if he doesn’t say it, I know it’s fine as long as I’m not the one pushing my wheelchair."

"I’ll come with you then." He shrugged, proceeding to take off his suit jacket.

"It’s just around the hospital. Not outside. Maybe use the opportunity while I’m gone to rid the room of this hospital smell." Kelsie refused, beckoning to Molly, who begrudgingly helped her into a wheelchair.

Assuming her bubbly personality, Molly smiled brightly and reassured them, "It’s fine. I’ll be with Dr. Sutton all the way and won’t let any harm come to her."

Kelsie chuckled at the irony, but everyone thought she was simply approving of it.

"Watch me on the surveillance cameras maybe." Kelsie suggested as Molly wheeled her out.

For someone who acted like it was just a random walk, Kelsie led the way, asking Molly to go through different doors until they reached the emergency room.

Several patients were being attended to, but two men’s screams echoed through the room.

"Just what are you trying to—Dad?" Molly’s voice faltered when one of the screaming voices suddenly sounded familiar.

Kelsie hummed and pointed toward a spot crowded with nurses. "Luca Langford, I believe he’s the one dying over there."
