Chapter 147 147: The Laughable God
Chapter 147 147: The Laughable God
"Dark Zone!"
With a sharp cry, Sabo leapt into the battle aboard Ace's small boat.
A deep darkness spread outward, swallowing everything before it like a black hole.
The raging thunder and shockwaves were instantly consumed by the void.
"Ugh!"
Even with his vastly increased strength, Sabo hadn't expected that man's lightning to be so fearsome.
Inside his darkness, the wild thunder rampaged violently, tearing at the space itself.
Fortunately, its destructive power was weakened, still within what Sabo could endure.
In moments, the abyss devoured everything—the sea calmed, and silence returned.
"Hmm?"
Above, Enel—his Thunder God form now dissipated—watched with half-lidded eyes as the blond brat absorbed his energy. A flicker of curiosity stirred.
Bzzzt!
In a flash, he appeared on the little boat, sparks crackling faintly as he studied Sabo with interest.
"Brat… what is this ability of yours? You dare absorb the power of God himself?"
—God?
Both Sabo and Ace turned their heads at once, staring at him like he was a lunatic.
Where the hell did this guy crawl out from?
Was his brain fried?
A Devil Fruit user… calling himself God?
Both brothers shared the same thought: ridiculous.
Sabo's lips curled into a cold smirk.
"You'd better drop that arrogant attitude. Otherwise, I won't mind teaching you a lesson."
In Sabo's heart, there was only one being worthy of divinity—his master, Ghidorah. No one else had that right. Not even in jest.
Hearing the naked hostility in those words, Enel bristled. So what if this brat was tied to Luffy? That had nothing to do with him.
And so, without hesitation, arcs of lightning flared across his body as he lunged forward. He didn't plan to kill Sabo—just to discipline him.
But before the blow could land, Sabo moved.
Smack!
His palm landed squarely on Enel's shoulder.
In that instant, the miracle happened—
The constant crackle of lightning vanished. Enel's body went utterly still.
"Im… impossible!!"
The once-drowsy Enel's eyes flew open wide in horror.
His treasured lightning power—the strength he had ruled Skypiea with—was gone. Completely gone, wiped from existence the moment Sabo's hand touched him.
Inside, not a trace of electricity remained.
Not since eating the Goro Goro no Mi had this ever happened.
For the first time in years… Enel felt fear.
The power he prided himself on was stripped away.
And for the first time, his composure shattered.
"There's no such thing as impossible."
"Don't think that having a Devil Fruit makes you a god. You are not worthy."
Sabo's fingers curled, his hand darkening into the form of a dragon's claw—jet-black and merciless.
CRACK!
The sound echoed as his claw crushed Enel's shoulder like brittle wood.
"Saboooo! Don't!!"
From afar, Luffy shouted in panic.
He hadn't spent much time with his long-lost brother since their reunion, but he knew enough—Sabo was monstrously strong. Against someone who could strip away Devil Fruit powers, Enel didn't stand a chance.
But Luffy overlooked one thing: Sabo's devotion to Ghidorah.
Even hearing his brother's plea, Sabo didn't stop. He had no intention to kill, but punishment was necessary.
"Remember this—never call yourself God in my presence again."
With a sharp thrust, his other hand pressed against Enel's abdomen.
"Take this back."
BOOM!!
A surge of black energy burst from Sabo's palm, ramming straight into Enel's stomach.
All the lightning Sabo had absorbed earlier was forced back into its original owner.
"AAAAAAHHHH!!!"
The destructive energy exploded inside Enel's body, ripping through him in jagged wounds as lightning and raw force tore him apart from within.
Ignoring his screams, Sabo kicked him hard, sending him flying across the sea.
He hadn't killed him—only hurled him onto a nearby battleship.
There, writhing in agony, Enel felt his powers return as the darkness receded. In desperation, he triggered his elemental form—but even as lightning, the damage he'd sustained was grievous.
Kneeling on the deck, his body trembling, Enel stared at the blond young man in horror. The refined clothes, the calm bearing… nothing about him looked monstrous. Yet Sabo was more terrifying than anyone Enel had ever faced.
Compared to that fool Guman, this man was a true monster. A real power of the Blue Sea.
For once, Enel didn't even dare speak. Terrified, he fled, transforming into lightning and shooting back toward his Ark Maxim.
Sabo's timely arrival had stopped the disaster, saving countless lives.
Across their fleet, deafening cheers erupted.
On the Sunny, Luffy let out a breath of relief. Seeing Sabo spare Enel, he grinned wide, that carefree smile returning. With a stretch of his arm, he grabbed Ace's little boat and zipped aboard.
The three brothers—once naive children—were finally reunited after more than ten years.
Together again at last, their faces lit up with joy as they embraced, laughter echoing over the waves.
For now, the battle in these waters had ended. But the war was far from over. After a brief exchange, the fleet set sail once more—toward Wano.
They had already entered Wano's seas. Though the depths still teemed with threats, with so many powerful allies and Zunesha's aid, nothing could stop them.
Golden sunlight pierced the clouds, driving away storm and mist.
Under clear blue skies, countless warships pressed forward.
"Wh–what's that?"
On the Sunny, Ace and Sabo turned with the others, eyes widening as the mists cleared.
At last, Wano came into view.
And with it, something far more shocking—
Floating above the great seas of the Land of Fire was a colossal gray battleship, stretching for kilometers, like an island suspended in the sky.
And on its surface stood rows of bizarre, angular metal giants.
They looked less like monsters, more like humanoid machines. Each bore wings folded tight against their backs, and an enormous blade was embedded into each one's spine.
"Pica… Heavy Armor… Mecha?"
Unlike the others, Enel's eyes went wide with recognition.
Sitting aboard his Ark, he remembered—deep in the lunar ruins, he had once seen blueprints.
Hand-drawn sketches, depicting machines exactly like these.
And now… those designs had come to life before his very eyes.
