Jigen's vessel was officially dead.

"You think you'll still have a chance now that I've regained my original body?"
Isshiki Otsutsuki spoke coldly. He had only two days left to live, and all of it was because of Brook.
Isshiki recognized the Tenseigan and Rinnegan as powers that belonged to Kaguya Otsutsuki's sons, powers rooted in the chakra system. He had plenty of experience dealing with those.
What truly made Isshiki wary was the time stopping ability Brook had just used, because that power had not been activated through chakra at all.
"You only have two days left, and you still dare waste time? If you want to chat, I can chat with you for two full days."
Brook laughed openly, trying to provoke him. Forcing out Isshiki's true form had already made things much easier.
Now all he had to do was kill and devour Isshiki before the Sage of Six Paths and the others arrived to interfere.
So Brook was in a hurry too.
Isshiki wanted to kill Brook as fast as possible, then find a suitable reincarnation vessel before time ran out.

If Isshiki dared to use them, Brook would simply take them all.

At last, Isshiki understood.
At first, he had assumed Brook was some descendant of Kaguya Otsutsuki, since Brook possessed powers like the Rinnegan and Tenseigan.
But the soul techniques, the overwhelming aura, and especially that time stopping ability were clearly not chakra based powers, nor were they the natural forces of this planet.
Only then did Isshiki realize why Brook knew so much about the Otsutsuki clan.

Even though Momoshiki and Urashiki both addressed Isshiki as their senior, Isshiki's techniques still felt far less troublesome than theirs.
But it did not matter.
Every one of them would die at Brook's hands eventually.
"So you really do know about the Otsutsuki clan. Then just wait. When the Otsutsuki descend, they will wipe you from existence."
Isshiki's expression darkened.
Now that his eye techniques were being countered, retreat became the only sensible choice.
He had already concluded that killing Brook within these remaining two days was impossible.
To survive, he could only flee, find a new host to parasitize, and quietly wait for reinforcements from the Otsutsuki clan.

He hoped Isshiki would retreat to the alternate dimension where the juvenile Ten Tails was imprisoned. If Otsutsuki Shibai's remains were really there, then Brook's harvest today would become even greater.
From the scattered fragments of the future he had learned, Brook knew that in the Boruto era, the Kara scientist Amado had used Otsutsuki Shibai's genes to create the cyborgs Eida and Daemon.
Those two inherited part of Shibai's divine abilities.
Amado had claimed that Otsutsuki Shibai was truly dead, leaving behind only a body, while Momoshiki stated that Shibai had transcended ordinary existence and left this dimension entirely.
They speculated that after devouring enough Divine Tree fruits, Shibai had surpassed life and death, crossed dimensions, and no longer needed to reincarnate through a vessel. In the end, he had simply discarded his physical body and ascended to a higher realm.

The moment they appeared, the Great Toad Sage's face turned pale with dread, as though it had seen something horrific in a dream.
