Chapter 205
Chapter 205
The battlefield of Marineford had become complete madness.
Whitebeard had arrived. The Admirals had moved. The Warlords had begun to stir.
And now Straw Hat Luffy had fallen from the sky itself. Declaring war in front of the entire world.
For Ace. For family. For everything.
As Luffy stood atop the wrecked warship, still glaring up at the execution platform.
Ivankov suddenly blinked. He looked around.
Then frowned dramatically. "Eh?"
He spun once. "Where did Crocoboy go?"
Buggy crossed his arms and scoffed. "Hah! Maybe he finally realized this was suicide and chickened out—"
He stopped. Squinted. Then pointed violently. "WAIT, THERE HE IS!"
Everyone turned.
And there moving fast across the frozen battlefield was Crocodile.
His coat flowing behind him. His golden hook gleaming. His eyes locked on only one target.
Edward Newgate.
The Marines immediately noticed.
One officer shouted, "IT'S CROCODILE!"
Another panicked. "He's going straight for Whitebeard!"
A Vice Admiral barked, "What is that idiot planning?!"
Crocodile moved like a predator.
Fast. Direct.
Years of hatred burning behind every step.
As he rushed forward, his voice cut through the battlefield.
Cold. Sharp. Personal.
"Long time no see…"
His eyes darkened.
"…old man."
Whitebeard looked down at him.
Not surprised. Not impressed. Just tired.
Like he had seen this child throw tantrums before.
"You never learn…"
His voice was deep.
Heavy. Absolute.
Crocodile lunged. His hook swung upward straight for Whitebeard's throat.
Murder in one strike.
But before it could land.
A blur. Steam. Speed. Red force.
BOOM.
A foot slammed into Crocodile's hook stopping it completely.
Blocking it. Midair.
Everyone froze.
Standing there, body steaming, arms darkened, eyes fierce was Luffy.
In Gear Second.
Crocodile's eyes narrowed. He looked at him carefully. Then noticed it.
Water.
Luffy's body was dripping.
His fists. His legs. Even his clothes. Wet.
Prepared. Deliberate.
Crocodile's expression darkened.
Straw Hat…
He knows too well.
His eyes sharpened.
My weakness. He came ready to fight me head-on.
Luffy stood between him and Whitebeard.
No hesitation. No fear. Just stubborn certainty.
Crocodile clicked his tongue. "Tch."
His voice lowered. "You know there's only one reason I'm here."
He pointed his hook toward Whitebeard. "If you want to save your brother so badly…"
His eyes burned. "…then stay out of my way."
A pause. Pure venom.
"I'm killing Whitebeard and you can't stop me."
Luffy blinked. Then looked behind him at Whitebeard. As if just confirming.
"Oh…"
He pointed.
"So that old guy is Whitebeard."
A nod.
"I thought so."
Then he turned back. Simple. Certain.
"So stay away from him."
Crocodile frowned. "…What?"
Luffy pointed upward. Toward Ace. Toward family. Toward the reason he was here.
"He's Ace's friend."
His fists clenched.
"So I'm not gonna let him get hurt."
From above, Marco heard that and laughed.
Blue flames flickering around him. "Well, would you look at that…"
His grin widened. "It really runs in the family."
Whitebeard stared down at Luffy.
Long. Carefully. Then his eyes shifted. To the straw hat. That familiar hat. That ridiculous old memory.
"…Hey, brat."
His voice echoed.
"That straw hat…"
A faint smirk.
"It looks exactly like the one that red-haired brat used to wear."
Luffy looked up instantly. His eyes widened.
"Hold on!"
He pointed.
"How do you know Shanks?!"
Then he nodded proudly.
"But yeah, you're right."
He touched the hat gently.
"It was his hat."
A smile.
"He left it to me."
Whitebeard looked at him. Really looked at him now. Not as some random rookie. But as someone tied to the old era.
To Roger. To Shanks. To fate.
"You came here…to rescue your brother?"
Luffy answered without hesitation.
"That's right."
Whitebeard's expression hardened. Suddenly. Completely.
He lifted his bisento and slammed it into the frozen ground.
BOOM.
The battlefield shook. Silence spread instantly. Even Marines stopped breathing.
"Does a brat like you…"
His voice thundered.
"…have the slightest idea who our forces are up against?!"
His stare became monstrous.Overwhelming. The pressure alone made nearby Marines sweat.
"A child like you…is gonna get slaughtered real easy!"
Even Ivankov tensed. Buggy nearly fainted.
The Marines watched nervously. Because even speaking casually to Whitebeard was madness.
Arguing with him? Suicide.
Then Luffy shouted back. Without fear. Without hesitation. Without sense.
"SHUT UP!!"
The battlefield froze. Even the wind seemed to stop.
Buggy's soul left his body. "HE SAID IT—"
Ivankov grabbed his face. "He actually said it…"
Luffy pointed directly at Whitebeard. Eyes blazing. Voice shaking the battlefield.
"That's not for YOU to decide!!"
The Marines stared. Pirates stared. Even Whitebeard's commanders stared.
Because this boy, this idiot was yelling at Whitebeard. Like they were equals.
Luffy clenched his fists. His voice rose louder. "I know perfectly well!"
His eyes burned. "You wanna become the Pirate King too, don't you?!"
Whitebeard's men blinked. The Marines nearly choked.
Buggy whispered, "He's dead…"
And then Luffy shouted the words that shook the battlefield. Again. Like destiny itself.
"I'M THE ONE WHO WILL BECOME THE PIRATE KING!!"
Silence. Pure silence. Across all of Marineford. Marines. Pirates. Admirals. Warlords. Everyone. Staring.
Some Marines whispered,
"…He said that…"
"In front of Whitebeard…"
"He challenged an Emperor…"
Even Crocodile paused.
Even Mihawk narrowed his eyes.
Even Sengoku looked down sharply.
Whitebeard stared.
Then suddenly—laughed. A deep. Massive.
Earth-shaking laugh.
"GURARARARARARA!"
His grin widened. His eyes shined.
"You're pretty damn cheeky!"
Luffy pointed again. Still serious. Still stubborn.
"I'm doing what I want to do!"
He looked up at Ace. At his brother. At the reason he came.
"I'm gonna save Ace myself!"
Buggy pointed in disbelief. "He's competing with Whitebeard?! WHO DOES THAT?!"
Ivankov stood frozen. Watching. Almost smiling.
Because somehow—this felt familiar. Too familiar.
To be this bold in front of Whitebeard…
His eyes softened. His thoughts drifted.
To another monster. To another impossible person.
Only your son could do this…
A faint smile.
Dragon.
A pause.
Another name. More dangerous. More terrifying. More fitting.
Ada.
And standing there in the middle of Marineford. Luffy looked exactly like both of them.
—————————
The moment Monkey D. Luffy entered the battlefield. Marineford became even more chaotic. He was like a storm given human form.
Reckless. Loud. Impossible to ignore and somehow moving straight toward the execution platform.
Toward Ace. Toward death itself.
Marines rushed him from every direction.
Gunfire rang out. Blades swung. Cannons roared.
Yet Luffy kept running.
Dodging. Punching. Stretching. Crashing through soldiers like a living cannonball.
Every step only had one destination.
Ace.
From the execution platform Ace watched in horror.
Every hit Luffy took. Every Marine closing in.
Every reckless charge forward. It hurt more than his own chains.
Then Ace finally shouted. His voice cracked across the battlefield.
Desperate. Angry. Terrified.
"STAY AWAY, LUFFY!!"
Luffy froze for half a second. Looked up.
Their eyes met.
Ace's fists trembled against the chains.
His voice grew harsher. Because kindness wouldn't stop him. Only cruelty might.
"You should know by now!"
His eyes burned.
"You and I…"
A pause.
"…we're both pirates!"
His breathing grew heavier. His voice louder.
"You should be sailing however you want!"
"I have my own adventures too!"
"I have my own friends!"
The words hurt him more than anyone else.
But he forced them out. Because if Luffy kept coming, he would die.
"You have no right to interfere with that!!"
Luffy stood there. Silent. Listening. Still moving forward.
Ace shouted even louder. Trying to push him away. Trying to save him.
"A weakling like you…"
His voice cracked.
"…coming here to save me?!"
His teeth clenched.
"Do you think I'm gonna let that happen?!"
"That would be too humiliating!"
His eyes trembled.
"Go back, Luffy!"
"Why did you come here?!"
But inside where no one could hear, Ace's true voice screamed.
Please, Luffy…
His chest tightened.
Don't come any closer. I don't want to drag you with me to my death.
This is my failure. This is my punishment.
Please… just live.
But Luffy was never someone who listened to reason. Especially not when family was involved.
He clenched his fists. Looked straight at Ace and shouted with everything he had.
"I'M YOUR BROTHER!!!"
The battlefield stopped.
Again. Because this family apparently refused to stop causing problems.
"You can say whatever you want!"
Luffy's voice shook.
"But I'm gonna save you—"
His eyes burned.
"EVEN IF IT MEANS DEATH!!"
Even the Marines nearby froze.
One whispered, "…Brother?"
Another panicked.
"Wait—what does that mean?!"
"Is he also Roger's son?!"
Another officer shouted,
"That's impossible!"
"Roger died before Straw Hat was even born!"
On the execution platform Sengoku took the Den Den Mushi again.
His patience had ended. His voice thundered across Marineford. Across Sabaody. Across the entire world watching.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
His glare swept the battlefield.
"It's only one rookie!"
His fist slammed down.
"Don't let him dictate the entire war this way!"
At that exact moment a giant Marine stepped forward. Towering over everyone nearby. Massive hammer raised. His shadow swallowed Luffy whole.
"OUT OF MY WAY!"
The giant roared.
"I'LL CRUSH THIS BRAT!"
He swung the hammer down like a falling building.
BOOM.
The ice shattered but Luffy had already moved. Too fast. Too unpredictable.
He dodged. Kept running. Didn't even look back.
Sengoku continued. His voice colder now.
More dangerous.
"That man…"
He pointed directly at Luffy.
"…will be a danger in the future!"
The battlefield listened. Because Sengoku did not waste words.
"He was raised alongside his sworn brother, Ace."
A pause.
"But his true bloodline…"
His voice sharpened.
"…makes him the son of the Revolutionary Dragon!"
Silence. Then absolute chaos.
"The Revolutionary Dragon?!"
"No way!!"
"He's Dragon's son?!"
"The world's most dangerous criminal?!"
The Marines panicked. Because suddenly Straw Hat Luffy wasn't just a rookie.
He was legacy. He was bloodline. He was danger.
And Sengoku added like fate itself enjoying the drama.
"As for his mother…"
A pause.
Both Mihawk and Bullet's eyes narrowed.
"…her identity remains unknown."
The battlefield exploded with whispers.
Mr. 3 stared at Luffy in disbelief. "Wait—"
He pointed. "I know that person!"
Buggy's jaw dropped. "His dad is THAT big of a deal?!"
He looked personally offended. "WHY DO ALL THESE MONSTERS KNOW YOU?!"
Far away Helmeppo clutched his face.
"He's gone and said it!"
Koby stood frozen.
His voice barely escaped.
"…Luffy-san…"
Gecko Moria looked horrified.
"That brat is Dragon's son?!"
"Kishishishi—what kind of cursed bloodline is that?!"
Mihawk gave the faintest smirk. Almost invisible. The kind of expression only someone who knew far too much would understand.
Around him, the battlefield was still in chaos.
Yet for Mihawk, everything seemed strangely quiet.
His golden eyes remained fixed on Luffy. On the reckless boy charging headfirst into Marineford.
On the same stubbornness. The same fearlessness. The same madness. There was no mistaking it.
Even if the world failed to see it, he could. Because he had seen that same fire before.
In Ada. Countless times.
So… Sengoku finally revealed it.
A faint thought passed through him.
Cold. Sharp. Almost amused.
The son of Dragon.
The grandson of Garp.
And yet the most dangerous truth remained untouched.
Hidden. Buried. Protected.
Mihawk's gaze narrowed slightly.
Even the Fleet Admiral doesn't know…
A pause.
…that Ada is Straw Hat's mother.
That alone was almost impressive.
No, it was monstrous. Because this was the World Government. The Marines. Cipher Pol.
The people who dug through bloodlines like grave robbers. Who hunted children for the sins of their parents. Who searched the world for even the smallest trace of Roger's blood.
And yet they had missed this. Completely.
To go to such lengths…
His expression remained unreadable.
But inwardly there was respect. Because only Ada could do something like that.
Looks like you really did hide everything.
No records. No witnesses. No loose ends.
No suspicion. Not even Sengoku. Not even the Gorosei. Not even Cipher Pol.
Those Cipher Pol dogs…
A faint disdain crossed his thoughts.
They never noticed your movements.
They never traced your connection to Straw Hat.
They never realized the woman they feared…
was already tied to the boy standing right in front of them.
And that made this moment even more dangerous.
Because once the truth surfaced. Marineford would stop being just a war for Ace. It would become something far worse.
A collision of generations.
Roger. Whitebeard. Dragon. Ada. Luffy. Ace.
The old era and the new one crashing together in one place.
Mihawk's hand rested lightly on Yoru.
Calm. Steady. Waiting.
I wonder…
His eyes stayed on Luffy.
On the boy shouting at Emperors. On the boy challenging the world.
What expression will you make…
A pause. Almost curious.
…when you learn how great your mother really is.
And for the first time in a long while Dracule Mihawk found himself looking forward to what came next.
Nearby, Hancock smiled softly. Completely unconcerned.
Her thoughts were simple. Absolute.
I do not care whether you are the son of Dragon…
A small smile.
…or Lady Ada.
Her eyes softened.
I care only for you.
Kuma remained still. A statue among chaos.
But inside his thoughts were far away.
Dragon…Will you come to Marineford Knowing your son is in danger?
A pause.
Or will you trust him to face this himself?
Then another thought. Far more dangerous.
Knowing Ada…
His eyes widened slightly.
She is probably already on her way here.
Doflamingo grinned wider. Like Christmas had arrived early.
"Fufufufufu…Dragon's son…Roger's son…"
He spread his arms.
"And soon…"
His grin stretched.
"Even more entertaining truths."
Nearby Jinbe and Bullet stood side by side on the battlefield, both watching Luffy tear through Marineford like a storm that refused to stop.
Marines were still shouting about Dragon.
About Garp.
About the bloodline of the boy charging toward the execution platform.
But for the two of them that revelation was only half the story and not even the most dangerous half.
Bullet folded his arms across his chest. A slow smirk spread across his face as he watched Luffy dodge through the giant Marine.
Reckless. Loud. Completely unstoppable.
Just like her.
"So…"
he said quietly, "They finally learned he's Dragon's son."
His grin sharpened. "But that's the easy part."
Jinbe stood beside him, calm as always, though even he could not hide the faint smile on his face.
His eyes followed Luffy. There was pride there and understanding. Because unlike the Marines they knew exactly whose blood was running through that boy.
"The world is panicking over Dragon…"
Jinbe said.
"But if they learn the full truth…"
A pause. His voice lowered.
"…that Straw Hat Luffy is also Captain Ada's son…"
Even saying it carried weight. Like speaking the name of a storm.
Bullet let out a quiet laugh. Short. Dangerous. "Marineford would explode before Whitebeard even throws another punch."
He glanced toward Sengoku's platform.
Toward the Fleet Admiral. Toward the Admirals. Toward the Warlords.
"Imagine their faces."
His smirk widened.
"Sengoku learning that the boy he's trying to execute for Dragon's blood…"
A pause.
"…also carries the blood of the woman the World Government fears just as much."
Jinbe nodded slowly. Because he knew it was true.
Ada was not just another Emperor. She was a name spoken carefully. A pirate who stood beyond normal logic. Someone even the World Government preferred to avoid provoking directly.
And if Luffy was publicly tied to her everything would change.
"The Marines are already struggling with Whitebeard's arrival,"
Jinbe said.
"If Captain Ada appears now…"
his eyes darkened slightly,
"…their entire formation will collapse."
Bullet looked toward the sea. Toward the horizon. As if he could already feel it.
The coming storm. The Oro Jackson. Her arrival.
"She's coming."
His voice held absolute certainty.
"Captain never misses something like this."
He looked back at Luffy. At the boy fighting for Ace. At the son she had watched from afar for years.
"And when she gets here…"
Bullet smirked. Almost pitying the Marines.
"…they'll finally understand why this brat is the way he is."
Jinbe gave a low chuckle. Rare. Genuine.
"Honestly…"
he said,
"after serving under Captain Ada for years…"
he looked at Luffy crashing headfirst into danger,
"…I should have realized much sooner."
Bullet laughed. This time louder. Because it was true.
The recklessness. The stubbornness. The refusal to back down. The madness of challenging the world itself. There was only one person Luffy could have inherited that from.
"Yeah," Bullet said. "No one who knows Ada would ever question it."
He watched Luffy grin in the middle of war.
And shook his head.
"That idiot is definitely her son."
Smoker exhaled slowly. Then it clicked.
"I get it now…"
His eyes narrowed. "That's why Dragon saved Straw Hat back in Loguetown."
Everything made sense now.
Whitebeard watched all of it and smiled.
Because fate loved irony.
Far away at Sabaody Archipelago, the world exploded into chaos.
Journalists screamed. Pens flew. Newspapers were already being written.
"Dragon?!"
"As in THAT Dragon?!"
"This is world-shaking!"
One journalist grabbed a Den Den Mushi.
Nearly shouting into it.
"Head office! Head office!"
"This is from Sabaody!"
"BIG NEWS!"
He slammed his fist down.
"TELL THE WORLD!!"
Back at Marineford the Marines roared.
Now with greater fear. Greater hatred. Greater urgency.
"We mustn't let him live!"
"Take him down!"
"With everything we've got!"
"Kill Straw Hat!"
Beside Ace Garp sat silently.
Watching. Thinking. Accepting.
"…Hmph."
A long sigh. Then quietly almost to himself—
"Fine. There's no point hiding it anymore."
He looked at Luffy. At the idiot charging into hell. At his grandson.
"With a label like that…"
A pause.
"…Luffy is too much of an outlaw for me to help."
His expression darkened. Then he muttered with the tired honesty of an old man who had lost every argument with fate.
"Raising both of you as brothers…"
A bitter smile.
"…was a huge mistake."
And then back to the battlefield.
Back to violence. The giant Marine charged again. Hammer raised. Ready to crush Luffy.
Luffy inhaled. His arm inflated.
Larger. Larger. Massive. Like a giant's fist.
Gear Third.
The battlefield looked up. Even the giant hesitated.
Luffy roared.
"GOMU GOMU NO—"
His giant fist pulled back.
"GIGANTO RIFLE!!"
BOOOOOOM!!
The punch landed clean. Devastating.
The giant's eyes rolled back instantly. His massive body collapsed backward like a falling tower. Crashing into the battlefield.
Knocked out in one blow.
The pirates erupted. Cheers exploded across the frozen bay.
"HE TOOK DOWN A GIANT!"
"STRAWHAT!!"
"GO SAVE ACE!"
Whitebeard smirked. Interesting. Very interesting. Without looking away, he spoke calmly.
To Marco.
"Marco keep an eye on that brat…"
A pause. A knowing grin.
