On the Day I Was Kicked Out of the Wealthy Family, I Had a Flash Marriage with a Tycoon

Chapter 218: Sacrificing Her Charms

Chapter 218: Sacrificing Her Charms

The baby was up early and already in the dining room. Seeing Jean Kensington walk in, he immediately said, "Mommy, you’re awake."

Jean Kensington walked over and sat down. "When did you wake up?" she asked.

"Around the same time as Grand-uncle."

"So you and Grand-uncle have already finished breakfast?"

"No, I was waiting to eat with you, Mommy. Grand-uncle already finished. He said he has to go out for something later."

Jean Kensington glanced toward the living room. ’I wonder what those two are up to so early in the morning.’ She looked away and said to her son, "Sorry, son. Mommy had trouble sleeping last night and woke up late. You don’t have to wait for me next time. Go ahead and eat."

"Trouble sleeping? Why did you have trouble sleeping, Mommy?" the baby asked.

Jean Kensington said, "Uh... Maybe it was the coffee I had yesterday afternoon."

The baby replied, "Then Mommy shouldn’t drink coffee in the afternoon anymore."

Jean Kensington smiled. "Okay. Now eat up. You need to eat a lot to grow big and tall."

"Mm-hmm." The baby nodded and began to eat obediently.

After breakfast, the two of them returned to the living room.

Tristan Sinclair and Dean Lynch had already left.

Jean Kensington gazed out the window, her mind flashing back to the moment she had locked eyes with Tristan Sinclair. They had been so close she could even see the fine pores on his face. ’I just don’t understand why he was acting so strange all of a sudden.’

"Mommy, what are you looking at?"

The baby followed her gaze out the window but didn’t see anything.

Jean Kensington snapped back to reality and said with a straight face, "I’m looking at the snow. It’s so beautiful."

"Snow?" The baby looked confused. "Where’s the snow?"

’The snow in the yard has been completely cleared away,’ he thought. ’What snow is she talking about?’

Jean Kensington pointed outside. "The snow on the plants. It’s quite pretty."

The baby: "..."

’Fine, there was a tiny bit clinging to the plants, but he couldn’t see what was so pretty about it. You couldn’t even see it without looking closely.’

"Son, where do you want to go today?" Jean Kensington asked.

The baby tilted his little head, thought for a moment, and then said, "I want to go to Crimson Wing Dojo to see my master."

"You want to go practice martial arts?" Jean Kensington suddenly crouched down, looked at the little guy, and asked with concern, "Won’t you get tired from practicing all the time?"

The baby said, "No. If I practice often, I won’t get tired."

Jean Kensington said, "Alright, then. Mommy will take you to Crimson Wing Dojo, and then I have to go to the office for a bit. Once I’m done, I’ll come and join you, okay?"

The baby nodded. "Okay."

Jean Kensington dropped the little guy off at Crimson Wing Dojo, leaving him with Chase Langdon, and then went to her office.

She had just parked her car in a spot downstairs when she saw Phoebe Sinclair coming out of the hotel across the street with a man. The man had his arm around her and seemed to be in a good mood. Phoebe Sinclair’s face was expressionless, letting the man hold her as they both got into a black SUV.

Jean Kensington’s mind started turning. ’The man looks a little familiar, but I can’t place him right away. Knowing Phoebe, she’ll try every possible method to get revenge on Jasper Lockwood and Chloe Sterling. She can’t count on the Sinclair Family anymore, so she’s bound to find someone else to help her.’

She glanced at the hotel across the street. ’I never thought the ever-proud Phoebe Sinclair would resort to selling her body.’

Jean Kensington pushed open her car door and got out. She decided to finish her work at the office first and then investigate the man’s identity.

「Meanwhile.」

In the SUV, Phoebe Sinclair asked the man, "Where are we going?"

The man’s hand was still on Phoebe Sinclair’s slender waist. He said lazily, "A private club. To meet some friends."

"What friends?"

"Business friends." The man chuckled. "What? Are you interested?"

Phoebe Sinclair’s eyes darkened. "I’m only interested in people who can help me get my revenge."

"And what if there is someone who can help you? Will you still trade your body?"

Phoebe Sinclair shot him a cold glare. "Not all men are like you."

The man laughed heartily. "You’re wrong. All men are like this, especially men like us at the top of society."

Phoebe Sinclair scoffed and ignored him. ’Not all men were lecherous and unfaithful,’ she thought. ’At least Tristan Sinclair, Jasper Lockwood, and Damian Rivers aren’t.’ But she couldn’t be bothered to argue with him.

’Right now, all I want is revenge.’

"By the way, remind those pirates not to make the deal too soon. Jasper Lockwood definitely has people watching the black market right now, trying to figure out how to get that wine back. If you want to make your money on this, tell them not to rush."

The man laughed dismissively. "You think I need you to tell me that? They’ll make a few feints first."

"So what’s your plan next?"

The man suddenly squeezed her waist and asked curiously, "What exactly did Jasper Lockwood do to you? Why are you in such a hurry to destroy him?"

At his words, Phoebe Sinclair’s expression shifted. She was silent for a long moment before saying coldly, "It’s nothing. It’s just that if I can’t have something, no one can."

The man chuckled. "A woman’s jealousy is truly a terrifying thing."

A short while later, the two entered a private club.

A sexy, charming woman immediately came to greet them, cooing, "Young Master Holt, it’s been so long! What wind blew you in today?"

The man laughed. "Probably this bewitching wind of yours."

The woman gave a shy smile. "You’re teasing me again." Her gaze then fell on Phoebe Sinclair’s face. "And who is this beauty?"

Owen Holt glanced at Phoebe Sinclair beside him and introduced her. "This is Eldest Miss Sinclair, Phoebe Sinclair."

The woman looked surprised and her demeanor became a little more formal. She smiled slightly. "So it’s Eldest Miss Sinclair. Forgive my rudeness. Miss Sinclair, hello, I’m..."

Phoebe Sinclair could tell at a glance that the woman was involved with Owen Holt. She shot the woman a disgusted look and cut her off coldly before she could finish. "You don’t need to tell me who you are. I’m not interested."

The woman’s smile froze on her face, a flicker of awkwardness showing, but she quickly composed herself. "Young Master Holt, President Quinn and the others have already arrived. I’ll take you both over."

Owen Holt said, "No need. I know which room they’re in. I can go by myself."

In the hallway, Owen Holt suddenly pulled Phoebe Sinclair into his arms. "You’re as abrasive as ever, Miss Sinclair."

Phoebe Sinclair said coldly, "Let go of me!"

Owen Holt scoffed and said with a wicked grin, "You said that in bed last night, too. Too bad for you, it didn’t work then, either."

It was nearly noon by the time Jean Kensington finished her work. She quickly hacked into the surveillance system of the hotel across the street, grabbed an image of the man with Phoebe Sinclair, and ran a quick search to identify him.

Looking at the information on her computer screen, Jean Kensington finally remembered who the man was: Owen Holt, the third son of the Holt Family—a family that was once on par with the Sinclairs but had since moved all its businesses abroad. He had pursued Phoebe Sinclair in the past, but she only had eyes for Jasper Lockwood and completely ignored him. ’To think they’d end up together now.’

Closing her laptop, Jean Kensington got up and left her office, calling Chloe Sterling as she walked. "Chloe, where are you?"

"I’m at Nocturne Group. What’s up?"

"I have something to tell you. I’m heading over to find you now."
