Chapter 570: Confrontation.

Chapter 570: Confrontation.

Hao Ren and Ye Lan handled the children as they reached the destination. The people of the sunset peaks had no idea that Hao Ren would be visiting them. Just before the shift change of the city guards, the guard captain noticed a carriage coming over being pulled by several white steeds. These horses were no common mounts, they were all Snow dragon mounts that were found by Yang during one of his explorations and he gave them to Han Lingshi as a gift.

However, Lingshi had another mount as well, so to avoid conflict and making sure that Yang stays happy, she made the steeds pull the royal carriage that was used by Hao Ren. All these beasts had the trace of dragon bloodline, so when they entered the imperial stables, the things they got to eat were all high level blood refining ingredients, and thus, they grew stronger and now, they had ice blue hooves, with the body covered with scales. Their mane was made of mist constantly emitting from the back of their necks.

The seven beasts treading through the void and they caused the hearts of the people to shiver as they projected a draconic aura from them. The Guard Captain raised a bugle tied to his waist and used all his might to blow the thing. The entire city echoed with a loud and sharp bugle sound. The citizens were shocked, in all their years as the citizens this was the first time they have head the emergency bugle. They all dashed towards their houses, and soon, a young man appeared in the sky above the Governor’s palace.

He trained his gaze in the direction of the sound and caught a vague flash of ice blue. His cultivation was high and just then he caught sight of the Royal Sigil on the side of the cabin. His pupils dilated before he took a deep breath to calm down and then he moved over to the gates and said, "Calm down, it is the royal carriage. Someone from the Royal Family is here."

The Guard Captain sighed and replied, "It could be Prince Yang again, coming here to have a tussle with you."

The governor smiled and said, "If only it was that easy for him to get through my tricks. Entitled Prince."

As soon as he said this a calm voice echoed through his mind, "Oh, I didn’t expect that a governor would try to trick the Imperial Prince. Seems to me that the image of the royal family has fallen from grace in your eyes, am I right, Governor Long Jin."

The voice was calm, as if a whisper in his ear, but he had never heard this voice, and the carriage still had some distance to cover. How could someone speak directly in his mind? This level of power and the unfamiliarity sent a shiver down his spine as Long Jin froze in the void as the Carriage neared them.

The carriage stopped in the void, and then the door was pushed open from the inside. Ye Lan was the first one to step out dressed in her black and gold soft armor, her battle aura was nothing like the people in the palace ever had a chance to witness. At this moment, all the guards on the city wall were shivering. They had no idea that a Ye general would be coming, and just then, Hao Ren stepped out of the carriage, with the twins in his arms.

The children were giggling and Hao Ren was talking to them. He was dressed in a Moonshine Blue hanfu, the royal attire meant for him with silver dragon embroidered around the shoulders and the waist, and a small crown resting on his head. Long Jin shivered, his face turned pale, as he knew who this person was.

Immediately to save himself, the young governor knelt on the ground and said, "Greetings, Your Excellency. Welcome to the humble province of Sunset Peaks."

Hao Ren turned his gaze to look at the man with a faint smiled and replied, "I really have a doubt, mister governor, what is so humble about your province that even defies the commands and the edicts of the royal family? What is so humble about you, after all, you just called the First Prince, entitled, and dull as he cannot get through your tricks. Right?"

His words made the entire guard unit freeze but just then Ye Lan asked, "Are you all not going to tell us, how did the First Prince act entitled? Tell us, because in the Crescent Moon Empire, the system of punishment and reward has always been fair, and you know that better than anyone else. After all, as a soldier, many of you must have been to the capital or some training camps? Right?"

Her words reminded the people of what they have been through and the values that were instilled within them. However, they didn’t know where to begin, and Ye Lan ran her gaze around the group of twenty people before she looked at one with a long pole and she asked, "You have been a member of the Heavenly spear camp, have you not?"

The soldier straightened up and responded, "Yes, Supreme General."

Ye Lan asked, "Tell us, what is going on in this place. I promise you, you would not be punished."

The soldier looked around and then said, "Supreme General, these past few months, the Governor has been telling the people that the imperial palace is not paying much attention to the situation in our province, and that we all have been forgotten because our small province holds no strategic value to them. This is a repeated situation, and he has been footing the bills of the various things that need capital from his own pocket."

Ye Lan turned to look at the Governor and asked, "Why don’t I know about how rich your background is, Long Jin? Have you been hiding things from us?"

Her calm question made Long Jin experience strong fear of death. Hao Ren smiled and said, "Well, let us discuss this all in the Provisional office, these two little ones will get a tan from the sun."
