North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 820 - 490: Accidental Discharge

Chapter 820 - 490: Accidental Discharge

Ruiz turned around first, and Jimmy waited for Taylor to come over before leaving the restaurant with him. Taylor kept his hand on the gun handle, ready to draw it if anything unexpected happened. But Jimmy and Ruiz were less tense, not worried about Anthony pulling a gun for revenge.

Anthony was done for, still too young to be revealing Brian's information in front of so many people. His future in the gang was over.

Outside the restaurant, Ruiz said, "Let's get out of here and have the bureau investigate his location."

Jimmy nodded, and the three of them got in the car and left. Without waiting for Ruiz to investigate Brian's phone number at the bureau, Jimmy directly called Caitlin: "Caitlin, sorry to bother you so late. I need a favor, can you track a phone number's location for me?"

Caitlin: "Why?"

Jimmy: "My colleague was attacked today—one dead, one injured."

Caitlin: "We're the Anti-Terrorism Bureau, not a telecom company. Jimmy, you can't use our resources like this."

Jimmy: "Please help me check, it's urgent, and going through the bureau's procedures is too slow."

Caitlin sighed, "I'll give you a number, contact Nancy."

Caitlin gave him a phone number, and Jimmy immediately called it.

Jimmy: "Nancy?"

Nancy: "Yes, who is this?"

Jimmy: "This is Jimmy. Caitlin told me to contact you, I need to trace a phone's location."

Nancy: "Go ahead."

Jimmy provided the phone number. After about two minutes, Nancy responded: "Marina Dock, Queens. It's a private dock in Little Neck Bay. We can't access surveillance to pinpoint the exact location."

Jimmy: "Thanks, please monitor the phone and notify me if it moves."

Nancy: "OK!"

Jimmy ended the call and called Ruiz: "Brian is at Marina Dock in Queens, Little Neck Bay."

Ruiz: "Are you sure?"

Jimmy: "I'm sure."

Ruiz immediately turned on his signal and made a U-turn at the intersection, with Jimmy and Taylor following him towards Queens.

Ruiz couldn't believe how quickly Jimmy got the intel. He had contacted the bureau, but there was no outcome yet.

Ruiz and Hughes had speculated a bit about Jimmy's identity before, but they didn't share their thoughts since this was a serious matter for FBI agents.

Later, Hughes arranged for Jimmy to go to Dallas to handle his own issues, including when Jimmy confessed to Hughes and Lambert. Hughes never mentioned it to Ruiz, so Ruiz couldn't be sure of Jimmy's origins.

Judging by the investigation speed, Jimmy was very likely from an NSA (National Security Bureau) related agency. No agency could beat the NSA in speed and professionalism regarding phone information investigations.

Since Jimmy provided the location, it had to be correct. Their priority now was to rush over and prevent him from escaping. They hadn't taken Anthony's phone, so he might inform Brian out of concern for his gang brothers.

Out of the three of them, only Taylor was bewildered now. Jimmy hadn't informed him, and he was merely driving mechanically behind Ruiz and Jimmy, clueless about their investigation progress.

While driving, Taylor glanced at the two black Suburbans ahead. He had to admit that the famous Jimmy and Ruiz had some real skills. He had been the most nervous one in the restaurant, especially after Jimmy fired his gun. Ruiz hadn't moved an inch, fully trusting Jimmy's ability to control the situation, whereas he almost shot the three gunmen emerging from the kitchen.

Jimmy's reputation had spread throughout the bureau, known as a tough guy. This was Taylor's first time witnessing Jimmy in action. No wonder he wore gloves all the time—his skills in capturing and shooting were top-notch. What's more impressive, he shot the three gunmen with a non-standard weapon, which was even harder to achieve.

If the scenario were different, the three people that appeared wouldn't just be injured. Jimmy was fully capable of taking them out before they even reacted, aligning perfectly with his legendary track record of eliminating multiple opponents without issue.

Jimmy only mentioned the dock name and location. As Ruiz drove, he phoned the bureau for further details, ensuring there was no pause in their journey as they headed to the destination.

Marina Dock was a private dock, surrounded by makeshift walls and wire fencing, not as accessible as public docks. It was nighttime, with barely any lighting on the dock. Ruiz and the others drove up to the dock entrance, which had no guard present. Two simple wire gates were closed and chained.

They got out of the car. "Jimmy, are you sure it's here?" Ruiz asked.

Jimmy looked into the dock area, the distance making it impossible to see the interior from the gate, which was far from where the dock met the sea.

Jimmy: "Wait a moment." He stepped aside and dialed Nancy's number, "Nancy, is the phone number still here?"

Nancy: "Yes, it hasn't moved."

Jimmy: "Track my phone's position and see where he is relative to me."

Nancy: "OK, hang on."

After another couple of minutes, Nancy informed, "He's northeast from you, roughly 100-150 meters away."

Jimmy: "Thanks, Nancy."

Hanging up, Jimmy returned and pointed to the northeast, "Around 100-150 meters in that direction—the phone's last known location."

Ruiz clicked his tongue, realizing that entering such a private dock unannounced could lead to trouble, especially since it seemed deserted. But being a dock, it would definitely have private surveillance.

Breaking the lock to enter would invite legal trouble from wealthy dock owners.

Ruiz: "Hold on." Ruiz pulled out his phone, calling Hughes. Situations like this required a bit of higher-up advice. Ruiz explained the dock situation to Hughes, needing to contact the dock management before entering.

After a brief chat, Hughes called back, "Ruiz, is Jimmy with you?"

Ruiz glanced at Jimmy, "Yes, he is."

Hughes: "Hand him the phone."

"Jimmy, Hughes on the line." Jimmy took the phone passed by Ruiz, "Hi, Hughes."

Hughes: "Jimmy, can you handle it? No authorization."

Jimmy: "What are you suggesting I do?"

Hughes: "Use your judgment."

Jimmy: "Alright."

After the call, Jimmy returned the phone to Ruiz. "Ruiz, Taylor, you should head back. I'll take it from here."

Taylor: "Are you sure, Jimmy?"

Ruiz patted Taylor's shoulder, "Let's go."

The three returned to their cars. As Ruiz and Taylor drove off, Jimmy went to his car to grab his equipment bag. The zip ties he had before were taken by Taylor, so he needed to restock them. He also replaced his gloves and put on a black mask, to cover his face partially in case of surveillance.

To avoid direct exposure, Jimmy removed his FBI Bullet-Proof Vest and put on a suit before entering.

With no one else around to interfere, Jimmy had free rein to act.

That wire mesh fence at the dock was shoddy. Earlier, with Ruiz and the others present, Jimmy hid his knowledge, but he had already found a breach— a large hole in the wire that someone frequently used to come and go.
