Chapter 1472 792: Harsh Sounds

The trailhead wasn't the only entry point, but Jimmy didn't plan to close too many, just barricading one large entrance temporarily was enough. He could stop a few, but it wasn't his home, and he couldn't stop others if they really wanted to come through.

With a mask and gloves on, Jimmy started searching along the route marked on the map. The distance Mary and her group traveled on foot wasn't short, and Jimmy couldn't determine exactly where the problem was.

However, he was somewhat better off than ordinary people. Frequently switching between normal vision and Heart Eye Vision was exhausting, and sometimes the things he saw would have recognition errors, but at least this ensured there were no problems around him, preventing awkward situations where he might get himself trapped in the investigation.

Currently, the environment in front of Jimmy was all grassland, with only a few trees, not enough to form a forest. Relatively speaking, it should still be safe. Though the Church's data was incomplete, at least it gave Jimmy a potential target, and judging by the records, it was very likely Mary and her group encountered those things. So, to avoid having his own soul taken by unseen forces, he needed to cover himself with Heart Eye Vision as much as possible, even if it meant some hardship.

This wasn't an easy investigation process. Jimmy's Heart Eye Vision was flawed. Although he could observe abnormal Spiritual Bodies in the air, he couldn't identify those hidden inside objects or underground unless they emitted energy. Therefore, every time he switched vision, he had to compare everything he saw repeatedly between black-and-white and color, which was mentally taxing.

What was usually a journey of several kilometers became arduous now. Having walked just over halfway, Jimmy was already feeling a headache and dry eyes, forcing him to stop for a rest and a smoke to relax.

Walking in a suit was truly inconvenient. Regardless, the leather shoes were definitely going to be ruined, but there was no other choice. He had hurried out with just a pre-prepared suitcase for travel, which only contained a standard suit. This outfit conveniently concealed his weapons, and he could show his credentials if necessary.

Along the way, he saw several tourists, but Jimmy didn't disturb them. Making these people leave without discovering any threat would clearly waste a lot of breath, and it could possibly cause chaos, further affecting his investigation.

After resting a bit, Jimmy walked forward again and saw a group of people gathered from afar. Two of them were squatting on the ground, seemingly something had happened. He ran over immediately, "Hey, guys, what's going on?"

One of the spectators said, "He suddenly fainted while running,..." He stopped in surprise when he turned and saw Jimmy, who didn't look like someone who should be here.

Jimmy's attire was clearly different from the typical tourists here, more suited for city skyscrapers, while these people were all in casual or sporty clothing. As Jimmy approached, he saw someone lying in front of the group, with one of the squatters trying hard to perform CPR, obviously trained in it.

The person paused and continued, "We're trying to resuscitate him."

Jimmy looked down at the person on the ground. There was no blood on the ground, and he seemed to have no wounds. "Have you called the police?" he asked while squatting down, feeling the other person's carotid artery, which still had a pulse.

"Not yet, he just fainted, we're trying to rescue him."

Jimmy stood up immediately, "You'd better report this quickly." He took out his phone and called Cage, "Hey, Cage, I found someone fainted on the trail. They're resuscitating him, call an ambulance over, it's about 3 or 4 kilometers from where I came."

After hanging up, he told the group, "My police friend is nearby, I've asked him to come quickly."

Before they could react, Jimmy had already arranged everything, somewhat catching them off guard. Another person looked at Jimmy puzzled, "Uh, who are you?"

Jimmy reached into his pocket for his ID, "FBI, don't worry, I'm just passing by. Now, can someone tell me what exactly happened? How did he faint?"

Apart from the person squatting, who turned to look at Jimmy then continued attempting CPR, the others exchanged glances. The one who spoke earlier said, "We met online and agreed to meet here for camping. We already set up tents over there and came here for a walk and chat. I don't really know what happened. When we got here, he initially felt unwell, stood by for a while, then suddenly collapsed."

Jimmy looked again at the person on the ground, "Did he consume anything?"

"Drugs? No, I don't know, this is our first meeting too."

Jimmy nodded, "He needs to go to the hospital, but you'll need to register your identities for later. If anything happens to him... registering can reduce a lot of trouble."

The group turned pale. They were just young people looking to have fun, suddenly encountering such a situation, especially having to register with the police, really frustrated them. Nobody wanted a record with the police, even if it was just a statement.
