Chapter 1348 732-1

Chapter 1348 732-1

Alejandro navigated through several dangerous crossroads and finally returned to the hospital. Worried that someone might notice him after leaving Hunter's place, he didn't choose to eat at that restaurant. Now, back at the hospital, he realized he hadn't had dinner yet. Unfortunately, it was already late, and to ensure his safety, he didn't want to leave the hospital. He bought some snacks from the vending machine in the corridor and headed back to the ward.

"Alejandro, Jimmy brought tacos, want some?" Carlos noticed him coming in and pointed to the food on the small table.

"Great, I thought I'd be stuck eating chips tonight. Jimmy's back?" Alejandro approached the table. Although the tacos were completely cold, they were certainly much better than the chips and chocolate in his hands.

While eating the taco, Alejandro walked over to the next room. Four people occupied two wards, and the hospital hadn't said anything. Money really made the difference.

"Hey, Jimmy, how's the investigation going on your side?"

Jimmy sat up on the bed and put down the newspaper in his hand, "Not much progress, I haven't found any trace of Carlos Escobar. Are you well? Why are you in such a hurry to go out? It's dangerous outside."

Alejandro waved his hand, grabbed a map from beside him, and asked Jimmy for a pen to mark several locations on it, "I asked around a bit, these places are all owned by Carlos Escobar, if you're interested you can check them out."

Jimmy looked at him with surprise, "Thanks, exactly what I needed. What about you? Did the informant give you any feedback?"

Alejandro finished his taco, threw the wrapper into the trash can, and wiped his hands with a napkin before saying, "There's some information, but not yet fully confirmed. I'll go out again tomorrow to check. Also, regarding your colleague, interested in taking him back?"

Jimmy frowned at Alejandro, his hesitation due to Seventeen's suicide was about not knowing how to justify taking his body back. If he were alive, it would be easier to explain, but a corpse would bring endless trouble.

Jimmy: "Is there a way?"

Alejandro: "I'll find a way for you to confirm the body, if you decide to take him back, the reason of dying in a gang war should suffice."

Jimmy nodded, "Thank you, if there's a way, taking him back is an option. So, what do you need me to do?"

Alejandro: "Consider it a gift, as thanks for helping us with revenge."

Jimmy shook his head, "We know each other well enough, let's skip the formalities, what do you need me to do?"

Alejandro didn't expect Jimmy to be so direct, catching him a bit off guard, he shook his head, "Not now, my friend, this is just a gift."

Jimmy nodded, "Thank you then."

Alejandro: "You're welcome, I'm going back to rest."

Jimmy watched Alejandro leave the room, then shifted back, leaning against the headboard in a daze. This guy was CIA, that was almost certain. His actions, from hiding weapons and documents to investigating with informants, were completely different from Carlos' official DEA style.

He must have received some authorization from headquarters, at least from someone high up, pretending to be DEA to intervene in this case, with Victoria being his target.

Based on current clues, his ultimate target should be the Sinaloa Group behind Victoria, and Jimmy was all too familiar with CIA doing such things, he'd helped deal with the former Atz gang's drug cartel, and the new gang replacing Atz was likely CIA-backed.

But why would he help Jimmy? Going out of his way to investigate information, trying to be friendly, the underlying reasons still made Jimmy's head ache. These CIA folks were all about interests, including those from New York's Anti-Terrorism Bureau and Tom.

Jimmy took the map and checked the marked locations; the two bases he visited himself and the one where the gang merged were also included. There was no issue with the reliability of the data, and from this data, it was clear CIA's presence in Juarez was significant. Collecting such detailed information within a day was a display of capability, whether from an individual or an organization, especially the occupied base, which had only been taken over recently, yet the data was already updated.

However, there was still something missing. All the marked locations were within the city limits, and as a gang leader of considerable power, Carlos Escobar's home address was notably absent, suggesting there ought to be a hidden location.

He still had another day to stay here, so Jimmy decided to continue looking around during the day tomorrow. Going out at night was pointless; watching wouldn't help him identify Carlos. Clearing out all these places was overkill and wouldn't solve anything.

Early the next morning, Jimmy left the hospital again. Having a motorcycle was truly convenient, except for two bases located in small alleys where gang members directly blocked the view outside. The rest weren't difficult to scout.

Most of these places were for conducting underground activities, with almost no legal business, and since it was daytime, there were barely any patrons, leaving them quite empty. Most of the people present were just lying around resting.
