Chapter 1336 725: Heavy Losses

Chapter 1336 725: Heavy Losses

However, the explosion still caught the attention of the police downstairs. Not long after Jimmy notified them, several police officers came upstairs, where they saw the completely devastated large office and the dozens of people lying on the ground.

Only two people who were farther from the explosion point and Jimmy, who had taken cover from the start, were still standing, inspecting the fallen, and moving debris and furniture off them, but not moving the individuals, fearing secondary injuries.

"Quickly get people over here to save lives, we need emergency doctors, right away!" Jimmy shouted at the arriving officers, then turned his attention back to his tasks.

This whole mess is truly maddening. Earlier, he had noticed that their people only checked each room to ensure no one was inside before leaving. But, when the subsequent officers came in, they started rummaging through everything. However, this wasn't their concern, so they ignored it.

The explosion occurred in the break area inside; they must have triggered some pre-planted explosive while searching for things they shouldn't have. This was definitely a means prepared in advance by Victoria, but it wasn't targeting Jimmy and his team specifically, it was an unfortunate coincidence set off by these fools.

The painful cries and groans were constant. After Jimmy and his team removed all the debris from people's bodies, the ambulance still hadn't arrived, and they could do nothing but wait.

Finally, a few emergency doctors rushed upstairs with their bags, followed by several police officers, urgently taking over the patients on the ground. Jimmy asked, "Why are there only a few of you? Are there any more doctors? We need more doctors here!"

One of the doctors, while checking the victims on the ground, replied, "It takes time for them to come, this isn't the United States. Don't bother us, stand aside."

Jimmy didn't argue further; saving lives was paramount. A few harsh words wouldn't kill him, but hindering the doctors might really result in deaths. Actually, for those near the explosion, Jimmy's team had already confirmed no signs of life, but they needed to wait for doctors to officially declare it.

Javier, Carlos, and Alejandro were at least still alive for now. Javier was unconscious, and Carlos and Alejandro were severely hit and affected by the shockwave. It's likely they all suffered significant internal injuries and need hospital examinations for confirmation.

As for the six SRT team members, only one was far enough not to have any apparent issues, like Jimmy. The rest were within the affected area. Although not deceased yet, one had begun coughing blood, presumably from severe internal injuries caused by the shockwave.

Jimmy looked at the groaning police officers on the ground, gritting his teeth in anger. These bastards are useless at their jobs, better at sneaky shenanigans, but they were not alert enough to notice the traps left by the other side, triggering the explosives. This resulted in so many injuries and fatalities; accountability will certainly follow.

The doctors didn't rush to send people downstairs. They checked everyone individually, immediately treating the more urgent cases, while the less severe waited for backup from other arriving emergency doctors and firefighters to assist in moving them out. Ambulance after ambulance left the club for the hospital. Jimmy allowed the uninjured SRT member to go with them to the hospital while he stayed at the club to see to subsequent processes.

When he went downstairs, he passed through the back door to the scene, only to discover that the police should have blocked the escaping suspects here. But there were just two police cars and four officers, having caught no one. Everyone got away.

"Where are they? The people who escaped from inside?" Jimmy waved his hands, loudly demanding from the officers, but they showed no response.

A middle-aged officer replied in awkward English, "We don't understand you."

One sentence rebuffed Jimmy. He furiously kicked a nearby trash can. These incompetent elements either deliberately let those people go or wanted to show these cross-border agents like Jimmy some local 'flair.' After entering through the front, they failed to intercept a single gang member escaping through the back door. This case can't even be described as a mere failure.

The arrests at the scene required verification by the Juarez police. These people had no connection with Jimmy, and he didn't return to the station but went to the hospital instead. Javier, Carlos, and Alejandro were all arranged to be at the same hospital, purposefully organized by Jimmy. This incident was so significant that after their treatments, they needed to discuss arrangements properly. Separating them among different hospitals would hinder their communication.

Another reason was that Jimmy feared they might be attacked by unknown forces during their vulnerable time from injuries, potentially resulting in very difficult situations to handle. Some might want to fish in troubled waters; by concentrating together, Jimmy could support them better.

The shockwave injuries need comprehensive examinations, including Jimmy. Although he fared better than the others, after ensuring others were examined, he went for a full body check himself.
