Chapter 1268 - 694: The Tucker Family (Part 2)

This kind of scumbag who kidnaps and abuses young girls deserves to die. Criminals are also ranked, and this type of criminal is considered lower than a human life in Jimmy's standards. When encountered, he wouldn't hesitate to take lethal action if necessary, without any psychological burden.

Moreover, such incidents are quite common in the United States, and it's really difficult to catch people in the act with evidence. Many times, due to insufficient evidence, even though the police are highly suspicious, they can't do anything about it. But Jimmy doesn't care about these things, as long as he can provoke the other party, he has ways to resolve it on the spot, as long as he can write the report properly.

Surveillance investigation is a very time-consuming task. Although the population in Washington, D.C. is not large, there are many cars on the road. Even in the suburbs, you basically won't find roads without cars for long periods. When technicians review the surveillance, there's not much they can fast-forward through, and it takes a long time. By the afternoon, they still hadn't given Jimmy a result.

Close to the end of the day, Peter finally had good news. Just as Jimmy had guessed, the license plate was indeed real. However, the owner of the plate did not have a second car nor a van. After investigating him, they discovered his nephew used to have a white van, which is now under investigation at the Baltimore Police Department.

Jimmy was pretty happy to hear this news. At least this basically indicated that they hadn't worked in vain. Although the information indicated a white van while the surveillance made it look gray, this wasn't a problem. Turning white to gray only requires simple disguise, or it could just be quite dirty to produce such an effect.

However, looking at the time, it was probably a no-go today. The efficiency of the Baltimore Police Department was an unknown variable in terms of whether the agents could get the information or even photos, so when it was time to clock out, Jimmy just left the office and went home to rest.

The next morning, when Jimmy arrived at Peter's office, he saw the information. Apparently, the agent who went to Baltimore was very responsible. They not only found the owner's license plate information but also managed to get his nephew's details.

What surprised Jimmy and the others was that the nephew of the plate's owner hadn't left the area and was working at a local auto repair shop. According to what the agents found during their visits, this person hadn't left the repair shop or his home these days, and his car wasn't in his hands; it had been lent to a friend who had taken it out. He wasn't clear about where the car currently was, but according to traffic surveillance, the car had been using that license plate from the beginning.

This time all the information had been thoroughly investigated. If there were no accidents, then the car was indeed his; it just didn't match in color. This needs some consideration—whether the car was too dirty to show a white body or they found another car and swapped the plates over.

After reviewing the material in Peter's office, they headed to the command center. The technicians had been asked to work overtime the previous night and had now determined a range. That car hadn't left this area, and the surveillance hadn't revealed any similar vehicle traces.

Peter, Jimmy, and Hope were all in the command center, looking at the marked electronic map. This range was not small; it had at least ten blocks, requiring more than just two people to canvass the area within a considerable amount of time.

Peter thought for a moment and called in a few people from the D.C. office. In the conference room, he briefed everyone on the investigation results they currently had, gathering agents from the D.C. office and support agents from headquarters to collaborate on investigating this area, focusing primarily on that vehicle.

Jimmy and Hope were also assigned an area, and it was a key area, not far from where the surveillance lost sight of that vehicle. This time, they were investigating those who dared to open fire on FBI agents. So after the two arrived at the agreed place, they directly took off their suits, donned bullet-proof vests with FBI markings, and put on short coats with FBI lettering on top, only then starting to walk the streets to conduct checks.

Dressed like this, with their right hands on the gun handles in their waist holsters, they symbolized the FBI executing a task, and definitely not a simple one. People on the road would avoid them upon seeing them, and under these circumstances, anyone who still hovered around the road to observe them probably had some questionable identity, except for journalists and the like.

All the vans parked on both sides of the road would be checked externally by Jimmy and Hope. With their gloved hands, they would wipe the vehicle bodies to check the base color. Soon they arrived at a roadside gas station.

Jimmy indicated to Hope about the gas station, with Hope going to the front and Jimmy to the side. Next to it was a small parking lot with several cars parked. Jimmy went to check the vehicles while Hope went to inspect the gas station's surveillance.

Quickly, Jimmy found his target: an unplated van parked in the parking lot that looked very similar to the one they saw on the surveillance. Jimmy took the walkie-talkie from his belt, "I found a suspected target, a gray van, no license plates, window glass undamaged."

Hope immediately ran out from the store. Jimmy couldn't see inside the van, but Heart Eye Vision didn't spot any human figure, which was somewhat good news.

Hope also did an exterior inspection of the van. He took out his phone and directly called Peter to summon a forensic team over. They needed to inspect the van, and before that, he also needed to take some notes from the gas station personnel to determine when the van arrived here.
