Chapter 1254 - 687: Elimination

The Church truly holds something extraordinary. After all, with such a long history and as the world's largest religion, if they didn't possess something noteworthy, they probably couldn't have reached this point. The Confinement Altar hastily crafted by several Priests was very effective. It seems not only to confine but, judging by her painful expression, at least partially purifies as well.

The white ropes binding the woman were constantly shifting, and her body soon began to change. The clothes and image she had previously transformed into gradually disappeared, her body becoming increasingly transparent. Minutes later, the woman had transformed into a humanoid water entity, gradually morphing into a large water sphere, shrinking slowly until it vanished. Eventually, a translucent pale blue Ghost emerged from the water sphere, suspended and confined in the air, while the sphere completely disappeared.

The scene was only illuminated by a few flashlights and nearby car headlights. One could see the Ghost because since the Confinement Altar had been activated, it continuously emitted a white glow that lit up a small area around it. However, not everyone could see the Ghost; with normal vision, one would only see white rope-like shapes drifting in the air.

The Priests, forming a circle around the altar, did not stop. Previously, they chanted to beseech the Lord to confine the evil, and now they sang Holy Songs to praise God, enhancing their Holy Power to banish the evil, petitioning the sacred power to send the female Ghost back to Hell, away from this world.

The Priests, holding up crucifixes toward the Ghost in the air, were also shimmering with a faint white light. Yet, the Ghost didn't seem to be purified by them. Despite a period of time passing, the Ghost remained a Ghost, the bindings persisted; she did not vanish.

Jimmy frowned, looking up at the Ghost, feeling there was an issue. Previously, when Father Bennett was possessed, there was no Confinement Altar in use. The confinement and purification performed by three Priests were enough to release and eliminate the Evil Spirit from Father Bennett. Now, with both the Confinement Altar in place and more Priests, why was this happening?

Jimmy used his Heart Eye Vision to closely observe the Ghost, concentrating carefully. He finally discovered the problem: there was a faint trace in the dark sky, connecting to the Ghost, as if an energy conduit was providing energy to the Ghost.

Tracing this mark, Jimmy found it twisting in the air before extending into the lake. Could something in the lake be supplying energy to the Ghost? Father Rodney and the others might not have noticed at all, as they continued chanting without addressing this energy conduit.

Jimmy raised his revolver, aiming at the part of the conduit connected to the Ghost. The rest was twisting in the air, unfixed, but the Ghost was stationary, so only this segment of the energy conduit was relatively stable. To ensure the break, Jimmy used the locking function of his Heart Eye Vision, locked onto the conduit, and emptied six bullets in one second, all hitting the seemingly only a few centimeters in diameter connection point.

Since the incident with the possessed Father Bennett, Jimmy's physical abilities had been greatly enhanced with the help of Black Rainbow. Before, when firing six shots, he could not fully control the recoil, causing bullet dispersion to be somewhat large. Now he can almost ensure that all bullets hit the same target, considered an epic enhancement.

The six bullets hit the same spot, directly breaking the energy conduit. When the conduit broke, it wobbled a few times in the air, slowly stopped shaking, and was about to reconnect to the Ghost when Jimmy raised another revolver and emptied the bullets again, breaking another section of the conduit.

The Ghost, struggling desperately before, couldn't hold on once the energy was interrupted. The penetrating ability of Holy Light Energy is incredibly strong, something Jimmy has personally experienced. With Black Rainbow's assistance, he was able to withstand the Holy Light, and the present Ghost couldn't withstand it without external energy input, relying solely on herself was impossible.

The Ghost gradually twisted in the air, her Spiritual Body becoming more transparent, and the original faint blue gradually faded away, indicating she couldn't hold out much longer.

Jimmy replaced the empty shells and aimed again at the energy conduit in the air, breaking off a section each time it tried to connect to the Ghost. He no longer wasted too many bullets, choosing to verify the bullet power one shot at a time, realizing afterward that three bullets were sufficient to ensure a section of the conduit was broken, and the bullets he had were plentiful.

When the faint blue on the Ghost's body completely disappeared, the energy conduit extending from the lake lost its target and faded in the air. Only then did Jimmy holster his revolver after changing the bullets.

With the disappearance of the faint blue from the Ghost, she gradually stopped struggling. When the ropes formed from Holy Light Energy lost their binding target and dissipated, Father Rodney and the others ceased their prayers and Holy Words. The glow on the Confinement Altar gradually faded as well, the surroundings plunged back into darkness, with only a little light from distant car headlights and discarded flashlights.

Jimmy picked up a flashlight and shone it towards Rodney and the others, "Father Rodney, is it over?"

Rodney: "Not yet, we still need to cleanse. Go and reassure them first, keep them from coming over."

Jimmy: "Okay."

With the flashlight in hand, Jimmy walked towards Nia and the others, over a hundred meters from the lakeshore. Flashlights swung randomly there, yet they indeed hadn't approached.

As he walked, he kept looking back. Father Rodney and the others were removing their garments, then gathered again, kneeling on one knee in the center, seemingly engaged in a collective prayer. But such a situation hadn't occurred in previous Exorcism Ceremonies, had it?

Jimmy didn't keep walking but turned around, simply observing them. This prayer session took quite a while; a few minutes later, the Priests began to pour out Holy Water from bottles, cleansing Father Rodney and those who had previously attacked the female Ghost. This must be to prevent the Ghost's energy from lingering on them, right?

Seeing them cleansing, Jimmy didn't keep watching and turned to Nia and the others, calming them, waiting to notify them to come over later, then he returned to the lakeside, "Father Rodney, earlier I discovered an energy recharging conduit on the Ghost, connected into the lake, could there be something else in the lake?"

Father Rodney was putting his priestly robe back on, frowning at Jimmy's words, "Recharging?"

Jimmy: "Yes, I shot and broke it several times, and after the Ghost disappeared, the recharging conduit also vanished with it."

Father Rodney turned to the lake, with today's small and dim moon, the lake surface seemed pitch black, finding anything was impossible now.

Father Rodney: "Where did that energy come from?"

Jimmy: "About twenty meters from us on the lake's surface, only an estimate; visibility wasn't good at the time."

Father Rodney turned to where the other Priests stood, saying, "Bennett, Antonio, come here."

The three gathered, discussing in low voices. Antonio shook his head, "Can you all go on? If we're to conduct such a large-scale Purification Ceremony, we might not be able to continue now."

Father Rodney: "Then, tomorrow?"

Antonio nodded, "Tomorrow would be best. I still need a Holy Relic for the altar's core, relying solely on the materials we have won't suffice for such a large-scale Purification Ceremony."

Father Rodney: "Alright, tomorrow at noon. You've all worked hard; let's rest for now."
