Chapter 1168 647: Prison Break?

Chapter 1168 647: Prison Break?

Unlike Neil, Mosquito had more contact with people from the gray areas and had access to more information. Among the people that those living in the New York underground need to pay close attention to, Jimmy Yang was an unavoidable force. However, the influence and people who could pay attention to Jimmy Yang needed to reach a certain level; those at the bottom hardly had the opportunity to know him.

Jimmy didn't feel any psychological burden. He had already reminded Neil that if he didn't cancel the operation, the most it would affect was having one less groomsman at his wedding. Neil wasn't essential; having Woody alone could at least ensure the wedding would proceed normally. Although uneven, it wasn't a major issue, and Mark could always be called upon to lend a hand if necessary.

The day after returning to work, Jimmy contacted the designer, scheduled a fitting for the two groomsmen, and then sat down to enjoy a pot of tea and rest. After flying around various places and drinking last night, along with exercising with Nia upon returning to the apartment, he indeed needed to adjust and rest well to work properly.

The calm life hadn't lasted long; with only a month left until the wedding, Jimmy had begun adjusting his work responsibilities in preparation for his vacation. Mark had recently started independently handling a homicide case, with Jimmy mostly stationed in the office providing remote and technical support. Of course, Mark wasn't working alone; Jimmy had coordinated for a support agent to accompany him ensuring his safety during the investigation.

Julia had been resting at home for a while, though she hadn't fully recovered and was still on leave. However, she contacted Jimmy intending to return to work in the near future. Even if she returned, she needed to provide office support until the hospital confirmed her full recovery, allowing her to team up with Mark again for fieldwork.

Given the current situation, the gap between Julia and Mark was widening, which Julia was clearly aware of. As new recruits to the FBI for just a year, if she fell behind, Mark might end up becoming her superior. Only by returning and advancing together could they continue competing.

Jimmy wasn't an inconsiderate leader. Recognizing Julia's ambition, he offered his support. Julia was a technical expert, and providing office support still allowed her to utilize her capabilities – it was a win-win situation.

Just when everything seemed on track, Jimmy received a call from Mahong, asking him for his location and notifying him of a meeting about the Demon Wolf Mercenary Group.

This was strange; weren't the members of the Demon Wolf Mercenary Group in the United States captured and imprisoned? Apart from someone who had planned their escape who wasn't caught, the others were either dead or captured and tried. How could there still be issues?

At the meeting time, Jimmy arrived at Mahong's office, where everyone had already gathered in the meeting room. Mahong beckoned to him, "Jimmy, over here."

Jimmy nodded at the others and sat in an empty chair.

Mahong clapped his hands to get everyone's attention: "Okay, everyone's here. Let me introduce you: This is Agent Matthew Francis from DHS, Agent Hans Mueller from NSA, and this is Agent Jimmy Yang, head of the Homicide Team who previously dealt with the Demon Wolf Mercenary Group."

Agent Matthew Francis from DHS looked at Jimmy: "Agent Yang, we are here regarding a phone call recording we intercepted. Someone is planning to carry out an armed prison break in New York. The phone number involved had a previous query record at the FBI not long ago.

We contacted Agent Mahong through NSA records. Agent Mahong confirmed that the number was in the contacts of Max Haidler, whom you previously apprehended. Based on prior case records, we have enough reason to suspect that the recorded call might be related to the Demon Wolf Mercenary Group planning to rescue Haidler."

As for the other members of the Demon Wolf Mercenary Group, we currently lack detailed information. However, several of them have had combat encounters with you. I hope you could offer an analysis of their combat capabilities to help us assess their potential in executing such a plan."

Jimmy looked at them in surprise: "Does just looking at combat data mean anything? Right now, shouldn't we be gathering intelligence to prevent them from entering the country?"

Agent Matthew: "We have contacted the CIA and ICE for assistance in gathering detailed information on the Demon Wolf Mercenary Group. They will also reinterrogate Haidler soon. For now, we need you to help assess their combat capabilities to make suitable prison security arrangements."

Jimmy: "Haven't you read my report? I already included all this information."

Agent Matthew: "Yes, we have read it, but we hope to hear your thoughts in person."

Jimmy frowned; this was a bit troublesome. He moved quickly back then and didn't actually feel much pressure. However, if he said that, it might give an impression that the Demon Wolf Group was ineffective, potentially endangering others if personnel were inadequately assigned.

After thinking for a while, Jimmy stood up, walked to the front of the meeting room, and pulled over a whiteboard to sketch the scene from their first encounter with the Demon Wolf Group, illustrating when he met them as a buyer.

A rectangle represented the warehouse, marking the positions of himself and three adversaries inside. He drew a surveillance van and the positions of three gunmen outside, beginning his explanation: "My engagement with them was very brief. Inside the warehouse were three people. I was here and could confirm that their positioning was very professional. The two at the back drew their guns quickly, indicating professional-level skill, but they mistimed their gunfire, allowing me to neutralize them first."

Next, I moved outside to assist. The three gunmen were positioned here. Before Mahong and the others could react, they had already shot and injured Agent Julia from our team here, causing her to be hospitalized for half a month and not back at work yet. Then, Mahong and Jones heard the gunfire, exited the surveillance van, and engaged the adversaries. Within less than a minute, Jones was hit at the side of the van, severely damaging his lung, and like Julia, he hasn't officially resumed work."

Mahong was pinned down at the front of the vehicle, with low counterfire frequency, and none of the three got hit.

I exited the warehouse, first shooting one of them at the front of the vehicle. After one was hit, the others avoided quickly. I shot the second by aiming at his feet from under the vehicle, which was not a typical occurrence. The third, the only one using a rifle, was successfully hit by me afterward."

The second engagement happened during our entrapment operation; two of the individuals who abducted Falcknei were from the Demon Wolf Group. At speeds not exceeding 30 kilometers per hour, they used only four shots to kill the two bodyguards Falcknei hired. After I shot his right hand's gun, he endured the pain to switch to his left hand and return fire in my direction, which was quite remarkable.

For these eight gunmen across two encounters, I can conclude the following:

First, their combat positioning was very professional, and they had strong proficiency in using cover for protection. However, one demonstrated inadequate experience in urban combat, not optimally using a car engine or wheels for cover, exposing his foot and calf. This weakness may not reflect their entire team but can be exploited as a breakthrough point.

Second, their shooting accuracy was high, and their combat style was clearly battlefield-pragmatic, focusing not on instant lethal headshots but on center-mass shots to incapacitate opponents quickly.

Third, they had an extraordinary pain threshold. When engaging them, ensure that fallen adversaries are confirmed neutralized to prevent them from regaining combat ability by delivering additional shots if needed.

Fourth, they seemed more accustomed to rifles than handguns. Otherwise, as mercenaries, personnel losses in a complex environment like the Middle East would be severe."
