Chapter 682 - 680 Marry Her Home [2nd Update]

"Christopher Scott said he really likes me.""Christopher Scott said he wants to pursue me."

After muttering to herself, Sophia Bennett suddenly hugged a doll and burst into laughter. If Christopher Scott didn’t understand her personality, he would definitely think she was crazy, laughing in such a peculiar manner.

Outside the door, Christopher Scott listened to the commotion inside and couldn’t help but let out a chuckle.

Soon after, he moved his ear away from the door and shook his head helplessly, whispering to himself, "Silly girl, I wonder how long you can keep up this act in front of me."

After eavesdropping on Sophia Bennett’s joy, Christopher Scott felt inexplicably elated, completely sweeping away the sense of loss and loneliness that had lingered over the past few days.

In the days after Sophia gave up on him, Christopher Scott was reluctant to admit that he was influenced by Sophia Bennett. Looking back at his mindset at the time, he felt foolish for not realizing that he had liked her for so long.

Fortunately, this time, he turned back in time, and Sophia was still there waiting for him. He felt so happy and wanted to open Sophia’s bedroom door, hold her in his arms, and confess to her again that he liked her, really liked her.

However, this was the Bennetts’ home, with quite a few family members around, so he had to be mindful of the impact. He had to suppress his passionate feelings and slowly head toward the first-floor living room.

He believed that soon, he would be able to embrace Sophia Bennett, hold her in his arms, and tell her endless heartfelt words, giving her all the love he had for the rest of his life.

In the living room, Mother Bennett saw Christopher Scott coming down so quickly and hurriedly grabbed his arm to ask, "Christopher, did Sophia not open the door for you? I’ll go talk to that girl."

"Auntie, no need. It’s getting late today, and I don’t want to disturb your rest. I’ll arrange to meet Sophia tomorrow," Christopher said with a smile.

Mother Bennett worriedly saw Christopher leave without seeing anyone, afraid he would leave and not want Sophia anymore.

So, anxiously, she pulled Christopher Scott and asked, "Christopher, do you find Sophia difficult or annoying? Please don’t be bothered. I’ll talk to her on your behalf, and she’ll be better right away."

It was the first time Mother Bennett saw a young man chasing Sophia to their home, and even though she’d set up some blind dates for her that left a good impression, she preferred Christopher Scott, especially since he was sincere, having come to their home.

Christopher Scott, looking at Mother Bennett’s concern, couldn’t help but want to laugh. He patted her arm solemnly and said, "Auntie, it’s not that Sophia is immature; it’s that I was. Rest assured, no matter how angry she gets with me, I won’t give up on her. I must marry her."

Christopher Scott made his pledge, and Mother Bennett beamed with joy, no longer worried. She nodded vigorously and said, "Good, good, good! Auntie believes in you. It’s late, drive safely, and call Auntie when you get home to let her know you’re safe."

"Mm-hmm!" Christopher nodded in agreement.

After that, he bid farewell to Mother Bennett and drove home.

In the car, Christopher Scott held the steering wheel with his left hand while his right fingers touched his nose, his mind filled with images of Sophia Bennett.

He recalled Sophia’s adorable daze when he kissed her, her panic when she heard his confession, and her excitement when she hid alone in the bedroom. His smile grew brighter as he liked Sophia Bennett more and more.

As he remembered the coldness he showed her in the past, he felt guilty, thinking he owed her too much and neglected her for too long.

So, he immediately grabbed his phone and composed a text to Sophia Bennett, saying, "Sophia, I miss you. My mind is filled with your image, your adorable appearance, your panic-stricken look, and your cautious demeanor. I really want to see you; also, the short hair suits you well, very cute and beautiful."

Christopher Scott had never said such mushy words to Seven Murray before; even though he had feelings for her, he buried them deeply, playing it cool in front of her.

But now, he didn’t want to hide his feelings at all. He wanted to express them openly and let Sophia Bennett know that even if they had been apart for less than an hour, he missed her.

At this moment, Christopher Scott remembered something Seven Murray once said: they didn’t love each other deeply; if they did, why would there be seven years of distance without either bowing down?

Christopher Scott no longer disputed this notion. He thought perhaps Seven was right; they didn’t love deeply, or maybe it was just youthful recklessness.

However, he was no longer young nor reckless. Faced with feelings, he was more cautious, not wanting to lose them or experience the loneliness of the past few days.

People should live more brightly; it’s worth it.

At the same time, Sophia Bennett looked at the text Christopher sent her, saying he missed her, and laughed while crying, hugged her phone and cried, then laughed again. Reflecting on her cowardice over the past year, she found it both difficult and amusing.

Lying on the bed, with a bright smile on her lips, she had tears not yet wiped away in her eyes.

She stared at the text from Christopher, as if trying to pierce the phone’s screen.

Once she calmed down, she bit her lower lip tightly and suddenly replied to Christopher with two words [Received].

After sending the text, she huffed at her phone, saying, "You brush me off, so I’ll brush you off."

In the car, Christopher Scott saw Sophia’s reply of "Received" and his smile was so brilliant it could outshine the crescent moon in the sky.

Though Sophia’s text was brief, Christopher could imagine her grinning like a goofy puppy holding her phone, recalling her lovesick demeanor as if he’d witnessed it on their first meeting.

Christopher’s speculation about Sophia Bennett was spot on; she was indeed at home, lovesick over the phone!

"Sophia, open the door and let Mom in." Not long after Christopher left, Mother Bennett knocked on Sophia’s door.

Sophia, eager to share her joy, immediately opened the door upon hearing her mother’s voice and gave her a big hug.

Mother Bennett felt Sophia’s warmth and jokingly scolded, "Silly girl, why didn’t you use this energy on Christopher Scott just moments ago."

Sophia listened to her mother’s reprimand and suddenly pushed her away, grabbing her shoulders and seriously stating, "Mom, Christopher said he likes me and wants to pursue me."

"I know, he just made a vow to me that he’ll marry you." Mother Bennett poked Sophia’s forehead; at that moment, she found her daughter increasingly pretty and adorable.

Upon hearing the good news from her mom, Sophia hugged her tightly again and said, "Mom, I’m so happy."
