New World with Four Husbands

Chapter 429: Startling confession

Chapter 429: Startling confession

"I don’t know how to help ease the pain." Coco said, her voice low and barely whisper, making sure that only Alhai can hear her.

"But if you want to do something that you think would lessen the pain.. Please tell me, okay? I’ll be more than happy to comply and give it to you— no matter how hard it would be to obtain it." Coco finished, her thumbs carefully wiping the tears under Alhai’s eyes.

The mediator’s teal colored irises were slightly shaking as they looked at her, filled with unreadable emotion, but he unmistakably focused on her.

Coco Hughes and Coco Coison are two complete opposite— something that Alhai learned despite his wishes.

He didn’t want to get involved with their "new" wife because he just knew at the time that she was just lying again, but as the days passed by and she became more active in their life..

He couldn’t help, but become a curious husband.

He had read from books before that the desire to get to know someone came from within, but for Alhai, he got to know more about Coco Coison out of free will.

It was out of disdain and doubt at first, but slowly.. Gradually.. And eventually, Alhai had found out what kind of person Coco actually was without even trying too hard unlike what he had read in books.

He was still confused as to how Coco Coison took over their wife’s boy, but he’s not thinking much about it now.

Instead, he found himself leaning more and more towards Coco, letting himself gravitate to her without himself knowing and when he found out, it was already too late.

He was already in too deep, already chained and anchored by Coco’s smiles.

He knew from the start that he would feel this way sooner or later, but he was afraid to acknowledge it— pushing them away and baring his fangs at Coco, all because he didn’t want to get hurt again.

He ended up hurting his friends when he found out that Zaque likes Coco Coison, but not because he felt betrayed— no.. He now knows why he was so hurt.

He envied Zaque to be able to like someone again after experiencing unspeakable pain.

He envied Heiren to be able to think of someone else that inhabits the very same body of their abuser and not lash out towards her.

He envied Quizen for being able to act freely around her, not restraining himself from acting immature and childish because the blue haired mediator knows that Coco wouldn’t mind.

He envied all of them.

He envied how they were able to show that they care for her without putting it into words.

Alhai doesn’t speak much and if he does, it would always be something below the belt or something harsh— nothing flattery like Zaque or dramatic like Quizen or nurturing like Heiren.

All he can do is spout hurtful words.

"You can kick me, punch me, slap me, throw me, or even ask for divorce in this instant." Coco spoke up, bringing Alhai out of his daze.

He could still feel Coco’s thumbs rubbing his cheeks affectionately, the motion sending goosebumps down his arms which soon traveled down his stomach to his pants, a physical reaction that he had been getting lately.

"Just let me know." Coco mused, flashing him a small smile that took his breath away.

Coco had been doing that to him for the past couple of days and Alhai knew that she was completely unaware of the feelings that a simple smile could bring out of him.

However, that thought was what urged him to grab Coco by the arms.

"You want to know what will help me ease this pain?" Alhai muttered, his fingers curling around her forearms and gripping her lightly.

Coco was taken aback at the sudden question, Alhai’s puffy red eyes looking like they were staring at her soul.

She nodded, a sense of reluctance and nervousness washing over her as Alhai’s hands slowly slid down to her hips before they finally settled on both sides of her waist.

There was something about Alhai’s little action that gave Coco’s heart a squeeze, but she couldn’t pinpoint what it was.

As if his hands resting on her waist wasn’t enough, Alhai slightly lifted his left leg and scooted them between Coco’s legs, making Coco’s eyes go wide a little from the quick and unexpected ministration.

What the fuck is he trying to do?

Coco wondered, her heart skipping a beat from how close their bodies are to each other.

She glanced at the other three mediators inside the room, hoping that they would offer a hand to stop wherever this action of Alhai would take them, but her breath got caught in her throat when all she saw was green in the husbands’ eyes.

The garden fairy was smiling widely at what she was witnessing and when their gazes met, Lala quickly looked away, giggling.

Her attention was forcefully brought back to Alhai’s eyes when she felt his hands squeezed her waists.

"It hurts, Coco." Alhai mumbled, his eyes staring straight into her eyes, his gaze filled with something warm and electrifying— an emotion that Coco should know, but couldn’t seem to name at the heat of the moment.

"You want to help me ease the pain, right?" He continued, his eyes shifting down from her eyes to her lips.

Coco felt like she was in some kind of drama due to how Alhai looked at her— like he was ready to suck her up until she had nothing to offer, a look that sent shivers down her spine.

"Fine then.. You offered." Alhai hummed, the frustration and anger that resurfaced a while ago are now replaced with something pleasant.

"So don’t you dare try to run away before I could start." Alhai’s eyes flickered back up to her eyes.

".. What do you mean?" Coco asked, her heart beating fast.

"I like you, Coco."
