New World with Four Husbands

Chapter 427: Important discussion

Chapter 427: Important discussion

Coco watched as Rey and Kairo went up the stairs, the young master turning back once to look at Coco with a pleading face, but Kairo kept dragging him up until they turned and disappeared from Coco’s point of view.

After Rey told her what was the reason for his insistence to make Kairo, she decided to tell Kairo to bring Rey to his room and call it a night.

Coco looked away from the staircase and sighed, whirling her attention to Heiren instead.

"Go and get Quizen." Coco said with a frown. "I can’t prolong this discussion.. We better do it before we go to bed so get him, please."

Heiren nodded his head and didn’t question her because it’s obvious that whatever Rey told her is important.

The second husband ascended the stairs and Coco quickly called out after him. "We will be waiting for you and Quizen in the music room!"

Zaque and Alhai shared a glance, then they followed behind Coco as she walked towards the said room.

Zaque felt his heart fluttering, both from the bad and good thing that he had heard tonight which consists of Coco saying that if they don’t want to, she wouldn’t marry Kairo, but whatever she heard from Kairo caused her to call an important discussion with all of them.

If whatever Kairo said to Coco had persuaded her to go for the marriage he proposed for Coco, then Zaque would surely be devastated.

Heck, just thinking of Coco getting married to someone else and possibly falling in love with them was enough to break the red haired mediator’s heart like it was actually happening right before his eyes.

Dramatic? Probably, but the possibility is never zero!

Coco opened the door to the music room and almost immediately Lala got off her head, flying off towards the piano that was placed in the middle of the room.

"I can’t believe that the original owner of your body has an evil mother like that, Coco!" The garden fairy commented, her voice edging towards a whine as she situated herself on top of the closed piano keys.

"How can I protect you against that evil mother?" Lala asked, her eyebrows furrowing in question.

"You don’t have to protect me." Coco said, directly reassuring her fairy friend and crouched down in front of her. "I can do it myself, okay? You should worry more about yourself."

Zaque and Alhai shared a glance once more, the words that escaped Coco’s mouth and reached their ears had them worrying.

Though, the worry was more evident on Zaque’s face rather than on Alhai.

"I don’t have to worry about myself because other than you and your husbands! Other people can’t see me and hear me!" Lala whined, kicking her little feet in the air as she sat on the piano.

Coco blinked and thought of what the fairy said.

"Okay.. Then protect Zaque, Heiren, Alhai, and Quizen, okay?" Coco changed what she first said. "Maybe Jacques, Renaldo, and Jonathan, too.. Also, if it comes down to it.. Protect Joachim and his wife."

"I’ll just protect your husbands first." The fairy hummed, smiling a little. "I like Heiren and Heiren loves them so I’ll protect them."

As if on cue, the door of the music room swung open.

"What happened?!" Came a loud and panic stricken voice came as someone rushed inside the room. "Is Coco okay? Is everything fine?!"

"Heiren!" Lala squealed and jumped off the piano, her wings flattering wildly as she flew towards the brown haired mediator, "Coco just told me that I should protect you and your friends!"

Coco whirled her head around and raised an eyebrow, watching as Lala slammed herself on Heiren’s face unceremoniously.

The garden fairy was immediately pulled by the brown haired mediator, his eyes wide furrowing, but a small smile formed on his face. "I don’t know what you’re saying, but it seems that you’re happy, miss fairy."

Coco sighed through her nose as her heart melted at the sight of Heiren looking happy for Lala.

"Anyway, please close the door." Coco spoke up and nudged her towards the door. "Then take a seat once you’re done so we can start."

"Wife!" Quizen called and walked briskly to Coco. "What happened? Are you hurt? Is everything okay?"

The blue haired mediator’s hand hovered on Coco’s arms, not touching her without her permission, but he made it clear that he was very concerned for her well-being— not caring if he looked desperate as he did so.

"Everything is okay." Coco assured him and raised her hands, grasping his larger ones with her own. "I just have something important to discuss with all of you."

Quizen’s hands felt warm on hers and she didn’t feel like letting go.

The sound of door shutting soon reached her ears which made her promptly lead Quizen to sit down on the piano’s chair.

The others dragged their own chairs and placed them beside Quizen, each of them having different expressions on their faces— anticipation, nervousness, and a face devoid of emotion.

Coco took her own seat by the corner of the room and dragged it in front of the husbands’ seats.

She sat down and turned to them. "Okay.. First of all, can any one of you tell me what Baroness Hughes— Coco Hughes’ mother, is like?"

All of them simultaneously looked startled and confused, their heads tilting and syncing with each other.

Coco would have found the sight cute and endearing if they weren’t having an important discussion so the only reaction she gave them is a slightly annoyed sigh.

"Rey wanted me to marry Kairo." Coco started, causing Quizen’s eyes to widen.

"What—"

"But I refused because I didn’t want to marry someone when this body of mine has a history of being abusive." Coco stated bluntly, looking away. "Also, because I didn’t want to make all of you uncomfortable."

"Coco.." Zaque mumbled.

"So, you have to tell me who Baroness Hughes is." Coco repeated firmly.
