New World with Four Husbands

Chapter 407: Random mission

Chapter 407: Random mission

"Take care, Coco." Heiren wished Coco well as she went inside the carriage.

"Have a good day, Heiren." Coco returned the gesture and smiled, waving at him through the carriage’s window. "Ill be back before you know it."

Coco watched as Heiren kept waving until she couldn’t see him through the window anymore and once she couldn’t see him, she turned away and slumped on her seat, her hands shooting up to her head to drag them down her face.

"Just what are they planning?" Coco groaned against her palm, slightly shook at what she stumbled upon last night.

When she arrived back home, she was greeted by the sight of Heiren and Zaque whispering inside the kitchen so of course, she couldn’t help, but be curious about what they were talking about.

However, she made the mistake of opening the door a little too fast because it made a sound.

The two were quick to stop what they were saying and immediately turned around to look at the source of the noise, and when they found Coco, they looked a little startled.

Not long after that, Quizen came inside the kitchen to distract Coco.

It didn’t take long for the third husband to join on keeping Coco busy with whatever they could muster up to do for the remaining time until dinner and every time she tried to go back inside, one of them would offer to go instead.

So, it didn’t take long for her to notice that everyone felt off and the husbands seemed to be planning on doing something.

They weren’t that discreet about it which made her feel incredibly curious.

"If you’re that worried about them then why didn’t you just ask them?" The garden fairy questioned, tilting her head and staring down at Coco.

"As if it was that easy." Coco sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose. "Besides, I don’t want to make them uncomfortable.. So I’m stuck in this suffering of mine until they tell me themselves."

"I don’t get it." Lala mumbled, puffing her cheeks out as she laid her head on Coco’s hair.

The ride to the hunter guild soon came into a stop and Coco didn’t waste any time to get off— of course, she bid a farewell towards the coachman before she ran inside the building.

Today is her first day as a licensed hunter so she couldn’t help, but feel quite ecstatic to start hunting.

"Good morning, Coco!" Lukas was the first to greet her as soon as he saw her approach the wooden billboard nailed tight on the wall.

"Good morning, Lukas." Coco greeted back, shooting him a smile, the issue about last night temporarily getting shoved back to the back of her mind. "You’re going to hunt today, too?"

"Yeah!" The sacred beast confirmed, grinning. "I need to finish at least ten missions before I’m allowed to transfer to the hunter guild’s branch in Archensheen City."

"What is it with you and your obsession to go to Archensheen?" A familiar voice chimed in, making both Lukas and Coco turn to the newcomer who decided to join their conversation.

"Good morning, Zuyo, Myra." Coco greeted the two, giving them both a nod of acknowledgement.

"Good morning, Coco."

"Morning."

Zuyo and Myra casually returned Coco’s greeting, both sounding enthusiastic upon seeing her.

"It’s not like I’m obsessed with Archensheen." Lukas started and made the three snap their attention to him. "It’s just that.. I like the city."

"Not everyone likes Archensheen." Zuyo pointed out and crossed his arms. "It snows there most times of the year and it’s quite hard to get monsters outside of the city due to the cold weather."

"Mhmm, you won’t earn enough money unlike here." Myra backed Zuyo up, nodding her head in agreement.

"Hey now." Coco laughed nervously and stepped in front of Lukas. "I’m pretty sure that Lukas would be able to get by. He’s a strong man after all."

Prying for information wouldn’t do them any good. Coco thought, her hand patting Lukas’ arm to calm him down.

She felt the sacred beast’s mood slowly take a turn the more Myra and Zuyo tried to convince him to stay in the main city, but the two of them didn’t show any sign of stopping so she had to step in.

"Besides, what if by going there, he met a good person that he can call as his spouse?" Coco stated, shooting them a strained smile.

"Coco’s right—" Lukas huffed and crossed his arms, the back of his hand bumping against Coco’s head lightly which made her head lurch forward slightly. "— oops, sorry! Anyway, I want to go to Archensheen to meet my one true love!"

Coco let out a groan, her hand rubbing the sore spot on her head as she shot a glare on Lukas’ way.

Whatever.. I’ll just grab a random mission and be done with it. She thought and walked past Lukas to get to the mission board, her eyes sweeping across the papers pinned on it.

However, she didn’t look that much and just decided to grab a random mission.

She ripped the paper off the pin and turned in her heels, raising a hand as she called out to the three that were talking behind her. "I’ll head off, guys. Have fun with your chosen mission."

She didn’t wait for them to wish her well and exited the building, her eyes quickly shifting down to the paper in her hand.

"I have to capture two flying pigs and the reward would be three hundred gold coins?" Coco raised an eyebrow, her eyes twinkling with delight. "Not bad.. But I feel like it would be better if I just let Jacques and Renaldo sell it."

"You already grabbed the mission though." Lala pointed out with a giggle. "No take backs."

Coco could only sigh because she knows that Lala was correct.. She already passed the examination, became a hunter, and grabbed a random mission from the board.

"Let’s just get this over with."
