The Sound of Betrayal
The Sound of Betrayal
I made my way down the hallway, the noise from the party below fading as I climbed the stairs. I glanced at the doors lining the hallway, guessing where Finn might be. As I neared his room, a sound stopped me—a low, muffled moan.
I froze.
It came again, soft but clear. A woman’s voice. Familiar. Ciara.
My breath caught in my throat. Slowly, I approached the door, my hand reaching for the handle. I hesitated, then pressed my ear against the wood. There was a shuffling sound, followed by a low laugh.
"I can give you what you want, love."
I nudged the door open just enough to peek inside.
Ciara stood there, half-naked, her shirt hanging off one shoulder, her skin glowing in the dim light. She was pulling Finn’s hand toward her chest, her lips so close to his it looked like she was about to kiss him. Finn stood still, his expression tense, unsure. He didn’t push her away, but he wasn’t moving either.
My stomach twisted, the image hitting me harder than I expected. Ciara’s fingers were already working at the buttons of her shirt, her eyes locked on Finn as if she’d already won.
“I know you want this,” she whispered, pressing closer to him.
Finn just stared, frozen in place.
I stepped back, my pulse racing. My grip on the door handle tightened as I let it close softly behind me. I didn’t know what hurt more—seeing Finn caught up in her trap, or the fact that he wasn’t pushing her away.
