Ciara Strikes Again
Ciara Strikes Again
The day before Hanna and Elordi planned to release the evidence that would finally expose Ciara for the manipulative liar she was, a new rumor surfaced. But this one wasn’t like the others. It wasn’t just a whisper in the hallway or a text sent behind her back. This one was different—and it hit Hanna harder than any of Ciara’s previous attacks.
“She’s saying you hooked up with Elordi,” Emily said, her voice barely above a whisper as she approached Hanna in the hallway. Her expression was pale, her eyes wide with concern.
Hanna felt her heart drop into her stomach. “What?” she asked, her voice shaking slightly despite her best efforts to keep it steady. She had already been struggling with the weight of everything, the constant pressure from Ciara and her alliance with Elordi. But this? This was something she hadn’t prepared for.
“She has pictures,” Emily continued, glancing around as if to make sure no one was listening. “I don’t know how she got them, but they look… convincing.”
Hanna’s mind went blank for a moment, her pulse quickening. Pictures. That was the last thing she needed right now. She had been careful—careful not to cross any lines with Elordi, careful not to give Ciara any ammunition. But the moment Emily said it, Hanna knew that Ciara was playing a game she hadn’t seen coming. This time, the stakes were higher. This time, Ciara had something tangible, something that could turn everything upside down.
“Where did she get these?” Hanna’s voice was tight with anxiety, but her mind was racing, trying to piece everything together. She couldn’t let this destroy everything she had worked for.
“I don’t know,” Emily said, her face filled with worry. “I haven’t seen them, but I’ve heard enough. People are already talking. They’re saying you and Elordi were together. That you—” She stopped, unable to finish the sentence.
Hanna’s stomach churned, a cold sweat breaking out on her skin. It felt like the ground was shifting beneath her feet. Her mind kept going back to the plan she and Elordi had carefully laid out—the evidence, the confrontation with Ciara, everything they had been working toward. But now, with these photos, it felt like all of it could come crashing down in an instant. All the progress they had made, everything Hanna had fought for, could be destroyed with a single image.
She swallowed hard, her throat dry, and looked at Emily. “I swear, nothing happened between me and Elordi,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “We’re just working together—nothing more.”
Emily nodded, but Hanna could see the doubt creeping into her eyes. This was exactly what Ciara wanted—to plant seeds of doubt, to make everyone question Hanna’s actions and her character. And this time, the rumors were too convincing to ignore. The pictures didn’t lie.
“Do you think Finn’s seen them?” Hanna asked, her voice trembling slightly as she braced herself for the worst.
Emily hesitated before answering, her eyes softening with sympathy. “I’m sure he has, or he will soon. People have been talking. I don’t know how long he can avoid it.”
Hanna’s heart dropped further at the thought. The one person she couldn’t afford to lose—the one person who had stood by her through everything—was the person who would be hardest hit by this new lie. Finn had already been struggling with the distance between them, with the growing tension over her involvement with Elordi. And now, with these photos circulating, everything she had worked to rebuild with him felt like it was slipping through her fingers.
“I have to talk to him,” Hanna said, her voice shaking with a mix of fear and determination. She couldn’t let Finn believe the worst about her, not without explaining everything. She had to get ahead of this, to show him that the rumors were nothing but lies.
But even as she spoke the words, a sinking feeling twisted in her stomach. How could she convince him? How could she make him see the truth when it looked like the lies were staring him in the face?
Emily placed a hand on her shoulder, offering what little comfort she could. “You’ll make him see the truth, Hanna. You just need to be honest with him. He’ll understand.”
Hanna wanted to believe that. She wanted to believe that Finn would listen, that he would trust her enough to see through the lies. But a part of her was terrified that this might be the breaking point. That the damage Ciara had done would be too much for their relationship to withstand.
As Hanna walked to her next class, her mind was clouded with doubt. The walls around her seemed to close in, the whispers of the students echoing in her ears. How could she fight a battle when it felt like the very people she trusted were starting to turn on her? How could she stand against Ciara’s lies when she had nothing to prove her innocence but her word?
She had to act fast. She had to find a way to take control of the narrative before it was too late. But with each passing moment, the weight of the lies grew heavier, and Hanna couldn’t help but wonder if the cost of exposing Ciara would be more than she could handle.
