Chapter 149: Descended from the Sky, but Got Both Arms Chopped Off
Chapter 149: Descended from the Sky, but Got Both Arms Chopped Off
"I’m not at my peak today. Otherwise, I would have taken your life!"
As one of the three principal deities of the White Elephant Empire, when had Vishnu ever suffered such a humiliating defeat?
He looked down at the arm that had been brutally hacked off as he was forced to retreat again and again.
Even with countless eyes upon him—and he was well aware that cameras from numerous empires and factions were likely broadcasting this live—Vishnu could no longer care about his dignity. He had no choice but to turn and flee in a panic.
He had never imagined a human could cultivate Martial Arts to such a pure and ultimate level.
The reason he was here was Amir. The deceased Divine Child had been highly valued by the entire White Elephant Empire, which was why Vishnu had forcefully broken out of his seclusion to try and save him.
He never expected that not only would he fail to save Amir, but he would nearly lose his own life in the process.
Chu He’s Spiritual Power lay dormant within his Dantian.
He felt the destructive ripples emanating from the swaying black seed and was overjoyed.
Under the refinement of the Heaven-Swallowing Demon Technique, the will attached to the divinity had been completely stripped away.
The remaining black divinity was now completely pure, allowing Chu He to control it freely.
Now possessing Divine Power, Chu He felt his combat strength had multiplied several times over.
Chu He was very curious to know if this divinity was the complete version.
He had also noticed a world of difference between Vishnu’s divinity and Amir’s.
’It’s probably just as Galava said. There are two types of divinity.’
’One is ordinary divinity, and the other is Supreme Divinity.’
The divinity from Amir belonged to the ordinary type.
But Vishnu’s divinity was different. Even the tiniest, hair-thin sliver of it was far beyond anything Amir possessed.
This was why Chu He coveted Vishnu’s divinity so intensely, fantasizing about dismembering him and using the Heaven-Swallowing Demon Technique to devour it all.
Chu He once again unleashed the He Transformed and Free Great Method. One after another, clones of Chu He leaped forth.
They completely cut off Vishnu’s escape route. Golden lotuses materialized around Vishnu’s body.
The lotuses bloomed with a blinding, dazzling light,
violently blocking the attacks of Chu He’s clones. Yet, despite their power, an insignificant, inconspicuous, emerald-green leaf sliced clean through and severed Vishnu’s other arm.
No blood flowed from the wound. Instead, a vast rage, like the descent of divine might, shook the heavens and the earth.
Chu He paid it no mind. The black energy of the Heaven-Swallowing Demon Technique swiftly engulfed the falling arm.
It broke the arm down into pure Supreme Divinity, which then merged into Chu He’s body.
Just as Chu He was about to attack again,
the black seed in his Dantian began to tremble violently. It wasn’t out of fear, terror, or injury.
Instead, a subtle yet powerful transformation was taking place.
The black seed twisted and contorted, transforming into a tiny, cross-legged infant.
The infant, however, was pure black.
Its eyes snapped open, filled with an endless indifference, like a lofty deity gazing down upon the mortal world.
It cared nothing for the pious creatures below.
It wouldn’t care in the slightest if it were to obliterate thousands, or even tens of thousands, of lives with a flick of its finger.
This sudden transformation made it momentarily difficult for Chu He to control his own body.
This was a change that only Chu He was aware of; Vishnu knew nothing of it.
So, when Vishnu saw Chu He suddenly freeze, he didn’t have time to ponder the reason. He simply turned and fled frantically into the distance.
If he waited for Chu He to recover, he knew he’d lose far more than just two arms.
Chu He could only watch as Vishnu escaped into the distance, feeling a pang of regret.
However, compared to Vishnu’s escape, he was more concerned with the changes occurring within his own body.
Fortunately, his Primordial Spirit Power allowed him to capture every minute detail of the black seed’s transformation.
Chu He now had a general idea of what was happening.
His power was, at its core, still within the Mortal Realm.
But this divinity, especially after absorbing the Supreme Divinity from Vishnu,
had undergone a qualitative change.
Even power that had evolved from Elemental Power into True Qi would be unable to withstand this Supreme Divinity.
Thus, at his current level, Chu He had already reached his saturation point for absorbing Supreme Divinity.
If he were to absorb any more, the Supreme Divinity would likely have adverse effects,
just like forcing yourself to keep eating after you were already full; the benefits would quickly turn into detriments.
Chu He looked down at the surviving Martial Artists from the White Elephant Empire.
With a wave of his hand, a torrent of golden flames descended from the sky,
crashing onto the ground like a waterfall.
Then, it transformed into a golden flood, surging outward in all directions.
The Martial Artists of the White Elephant Empire only had time to let out terrified shrieks before they were engulfed by the sea of golden fire.
The instant the sea of golden flames swept over them,
they were instantly reduced to ash, vanishing without a trace.
After eliminating everyone the White Elephant Empire had sent to the Border City, Chu He flew away.
"What the hell was that sea of golden flames? There’s not a single scorch mark on the ground."
"I’m telling you, the Deities of the White Elephant Empire are fakes. Otherwise, how could a human beat one of them so badly?
If Chu He hadn’t frozen at that critical moment, that so-called Vishnu, one of the White Elephant Empire’s three great deities, would’ve been a goner for sure."
"That’s bullshit! How dare you question the Deities of our White Elephant Empire? If you’ve got the guts, come try your luck in our Empire and see who’s real and who’s fake."
"Uh, didn’t Chu He just go to your White Elephant Empire’s territory?
You sent out three Divine Children and an army of a hundred thousand Martial Artists from the White Elephant Empire.
On top of that, even Vishnu, one of your great deities with Supreme Divinity, personally showed up riding a giant serpent on a path of lotuses, descending from the heavens... only to get both his arms hacked off.
And you people from the White Elephant Empire still aren’t embarrassed? You actually dare to run your mouths in the live chat?"
Only after Chu He had completely vanished did the people with the cameras finally muster the courage to run onto the White Elephant Empire’s grounds.
They panned their lenses across the area. The tents were still standing.
But the people who had been inside them were nowhere to be seen.
There wasn’t even any ash on the ground.
It was as if the sea of golden flames could distinguish between people and inanimate objects.
The grass and flowers on the ground were completely unharmed.
It was truly beyond comprehension.
