"It's Day Two of the Grand Magic Games, match three of the battle segment!"
The arena floor cleared as Mira and Jenny took their positions. The crowd settled in for what they expected would be a standard magical battle.
They were wrong.
"Let the battle… begin!" Chapati announced.
Instead of launching attacks, their clothes shimmered and transformed into bikinis. Mira wore white with pink trim while Jenny sported blue with gold accents as they both begun to strike poses. The crowd went silent for exactly one second before erupting. Whistles and cheers filled the arena, mostly from the male spectators whose faces had turned various shades of red.
"What kind of battle is this?!" Someone shouted from the stands, though nobody seemed to be complaining.
The surprise doubled when Sherry and Chelia from Lamia Scale jumped down into the arena as they joined the impromptu fashion show in their own swimwear, striking synchronized poses that drew even more cheers. Within minutes, female contestants from every participating guild had entered the arena. Even those not officially part of any team, especially the Fairy Tail mages, had joined in. Levy wore a orange bikini that complemented her blue hair. Cana opted for something more daring in black. Evergreen chose green with fairy-wing patterns. Even Juvia had joined, though she kept glancing up at where Gray sat in the stands.
The themes shifted from swimwear to something that made the smoke practically visible rising from the male spectators' heads. Bondage-themed outfits appeared, complete with chains and leather. Several men in the crowd passed out entirely. Others furiously wiped nosebleeds while trying to maintain consciousness.
Miles away in a secluded forest near Crocus, Ultear watched the spectacle through a Lacrima projection. Her expression had soured considerably.
"This is ridiculous," she muttered, arms crossed.
Meredy giggled beside her. "You're just jealous you can't be down there showing off for Shisui."
"I am not!" Ultear's face turned red. "That's completely absurd. Why would I want to parade around in front of thousands of people?"
"Not thousands of people," Meredy corrected with a knowing smile. "Just one specific person."
Ultear turned away, refusing to dignify that with a response. Meredy's grin widened.
"You know, you really don't have anything to worry about. We both know Shisui pretty well by now." Meredy paused for effect. "He probably has his eyes closed."
Back in the arena, Laxus glanced sideways at his teammate. Sure enough, Shisui stood with his arms crossed and eyes firmly shut.
"Not interested in the show?" Laxus asked.
"There's really nothing worth seeing. And I'd rather not anger a certain time mage." Shisui replied simply.
Laxus snorted. "Whatever."
Jason's voice suddenly boomed across the arena. "Please ready a partner and change into your wedding attire!"
The arena transformed into chaos as participants scrambled to find partners. Most of Fairy Tail had already descended to join this particular theme. Wendy arrived with Carla, both having been cleared to rejoin the guild after their recovery. Wendy wore a small flower girl dress while Carla had a tiny bow around her neck.
Makarov partnered with Mira, playing the role of father walking his daughter down an imaginary aisle. The old man wiped fake tears from his eyes with exaggerated emotion. Jet and Droy fought over who would be Levy's stand-in husband, their argument growing heated enough that Levy had to separate them with a Solid Script: Wall.
Bisca and Alzack watched their daughter Asuka run around the arena. The little girl had somehow convinced Shisui to join her for this particular theme and now, she dragged him by the hand, throwing flower petals everywhere while shouting congratulations to anyone within earshot.
"Happy wedding!" Asuka yelled at a confused Lyon from Lamia Scale, pelting him with roses.
The joy shattered when a new voice cut through the celebration.
"It seems it is finally my turn to shine! I, Ohba Babasahma of Lamia Scale, shall teach you the very definition of womanly charm!"
Ohba jumped from her guild's section, discarding her robe mid-air. She landed with ground-shaking force, striking what she clearly thought was an alluring pose. The arena went dead silent. Not the good kind of silent.
The horrified kind.
Chapati cleared his throat uncomfortably. "Well... that was... an attack on everyone's eyes that has successfully drained all excitement from the arena."
The other participants filed out quickly, leaving only Mira and Jenny on the arena floor. They looked at each other with shared understanding.
"That was fun while it lasted," Jenny said.
"It was," Mira agreed. "But I think it's time for the finale."
Jenny's expression shifted to something more serious. "How about we make this interesting? The loser does a nude photo spread for Sorcerer Weekly."
Steam erupted from the male section of the crowd again. But when Mira actually nodded in agreement, the steam turned into full-blown shock.
"UN-UNBELIEVABLE!" Chapati stuttered. "An absolutely UNBELIEVABLE bet has just been made!"
The crowd went wild. Their cheers shook the arena itself.
"The final theme is… Battle forms!" Chapati announced once he'd regained composure
Jenny transformed first. Her outfit became a red dominatrix-style armour. She struck a pose that sent another wave of cheers through the crowd. But Mira hadn't moved yet as magic gathered around her, dark and powerful.
"Since I agreed to your bet and all the earlier themes, it's only fair you agree to my condition for this final theme." Mira said calmly.
"What condition?" Jenny asked, though worry crept into her voice.
"A contest of strength. An actual fight, just like all the other battles."
As Mira spoke, her transformation completed. Dark wings spread from her back. Her skin turned pale purple with markings across her body. Her hands became claws and a tail whipped behind her. This was Satan Soul: Sitri, one of her most powerful forms.
Jenny took an involuntary step backward. For the first time, she understood why people called Mirajane the She-Devil.
"W-wait," Jenny stuttered. "We can talk about the bet-"
Mira didn't wait. She moved faster than Jenny could track. One clawed hand struck Jenny's stomach, sending her flying across the arena. Before Jenny could hit the ground, Mira appeared behind her and struck again. The dominatrix armour shattered like glass. Jenny tried to respond but Mira had already grabbed her by the throat and slammed her into the arena floor.
The fight lasted less than thirty seconds.
Mira reverted to her normal form, smoothing down her dress. "I'm sorry about that, Jenny. But I really am looking forward to the next issue of Sorcerer Weekly."
Jenny lay on the ground, crying comically while muttering about failed plans.
"The winner is Mirajane Strauss of Fairy Tail Team B!" Chapati announced.
Mira walked back to her team section. Shisui had finally opened his eyes to watch an actual battle.
"Now you see why we don't get on her bad side?" Laxus asked.
Shisui nodded slowly. "That was indeed a sight to behold. But with your victory, we now hold the top spot of the games."
Mira blushed, embarrassed. "I feel like I showed everyone something disgraceful."
"Are you kidding?" Gajeel said. "That was a sight most people would die for. Literally, in some cases, but still worth it."
The rest of Team B laughed while Mira's blush deepened.
