Naruto: Tsunade's Brother

Chapter 218: Danzo’s Move

Chapter 218: Danzo’s Move

Arima skillfully put on a set of medical scrubs and, under Shizune's guidance, entered the operating room.

Beneath the shadowless lamp, Arima saw a teenager lying on the hospital bed. He immediately recognized him as Neji, the same boy who had fought Naruto earlier.

Tsunade walked over to Arima's side and said, "Arima, I know you have… special abilities. Can you help me save this child?"

Arima asked, "What do you need me to do?"

"He's lost too much blood," Tsunade replied. "I need you to help me stop the bleeding."

Arima stepped up to the operating table, pressed both hands against Neji's chest, and activated the power of the Paw-Paw Fruit.

The next moment, a blood-red sphere of compressed air rose into the air, only to be instantly transferred away by Arima.

When Arima withdrew his hands, Neji's wounds had miraculously healed. From start to finish, the entire treatment had taken less than ten breaths.

Tsunade carefully examined Neji's injuries. The evidence before her eyes told her that what had just happened was no illusion.

She stared at Arima in disbelief and exclaimed repeatedly, "Arima, you're the greatest doctor in the entire ninja world."

Arima merely smiled. He knew very well that all of this was thanks to the power of the Paw-Paw Fruit, and he didn't take any credit for himself.

Seeing that the opportunity was rare, Tsunade brought Arima to Choji's ward next.

The moment Arima saw that the chubby boy had wasted away until he was barely recognizable, he immediately understood the cause of the illness.

Years ago, he had once researched the ingredients of the Akimichi clan's secret pills, the Red Chili Pills, together with his granduncle and Orochimaru.

However, before they could develop an antidote, he had transmigrated to the world of pirates with his family.

Arima took pen and paper from Shizune and meticulously rewrote every single ingredient of the Chili Pills.

When Tsunade saw what was written on the paper, she instantly understood and immediately began preparing the antidote.

Arima watched from the side, admiring Tsunade's focused expression.

After a while, seeing that there was nothing more for him to do, he quietly left the intensive care ward, careful not to disturb her.

One day later, Kiba from the tracking squad was also brought in with severe injuries.

Fortunately, he had been rescued from the riverbank by Sunagakure's Kankuro and rushed to the hospital. Along with him came his ninken, Akamaru.

Tsunade subconsciously wanted Arima to help her treat the patients, but after a moment's thought, she realized that Danzo and the elders would definitely be keeping an eye on this place.

She couldn't allow Arima's abilities to be exposed, lest disaster befall him.

She repeatedly warned Shizune as well, instructing her to keep her mouth absolutely sealed and not let even a single word about Arima slip out.

Shizune rarely saw Lady Tsunade this serious. She nodded again and again, even swearing on her entire ninja career.

By the time Tsunade finished dealing with everything, a full week had already passed.

During this period, she not only had to treat those severely injured children, but also had to endure the accusations and pressure from the Elder Council and the Advisory Council.

She was utterly exhausted, both physically and mentally.

Whenever she felt like she couldn't hold on anymore, what appeared in her mind wasn't her grandfather's admonitions, nor Nawaki's dreams, nor Dan's powerful, ringing oath, but rather the image of Arima cooking for her in the kitchen.

The memories she had once cherished were gradually being overwritten by new ones.

Yet instead of feeling fear, Tsunade felt an indescribable sense of happiness welling up in her heart.

Late at night, when everything was quiet, Tsunade would often ask herself, "What's wrong with me? How am I acting like a young girl again?"

And after saying that, she would usually break into a knowing smile.

That evening, just as Arima was about to close up his shop, two Anbu operatives appeared in front of him and said coldly, "Arima, Lord Danzo requests your presence."

Arima nodded. Unhurried, he continued tidying up his small shop and asked, "What does Elder Danzo want with me?"

The Anbu leader merely urged, "Come with us to meet Lord Danzo."

Arima smiled faintly and said, "I haven't closed my shop yet. If a thief comes in, that wouldn't be very good, would it?"

The speaker had no ill intent, but the listeners did. The two Anbu immediately became alert, as if they were about to make a move on Arima the very next moment.

At that instant, Tsunade arrived with Shizune.

Tsunade was in a particularly good mood that day. After getting off work, she hadn't given it much thought and had brought Shizune straight over to Arima's place to enjoy some fine wine.

However, just as she turned the corner of the street, she saw from afar two Anbu forming a pincer position, seemingly about to do something to Arima.

Tsunade shouted sharply, "Stop!"

Seeing that the situation was no longer viable, the two Anbu shot Arima a deep look before swiftly retreating.

They even completely ignored Tsunade's presence, as if the Fifth Hokage was nothing more than thin air to them.

Tsunade strode over to Arima, her face tense as she asked, "Arima, are you hurt?"

Arima smiled and said, "They can't hurt me. I'm just a little curious, Danzo seems to have something he wants to say to me."

Tsunade snorted coldly, crossed her arms, and said disdainfully.

"That old fox only knows how to pull dirty tricks behind the scenes. Arima, remember what I'm telling you, stay far away from Danzo's people from now on.

His hands are filthy. I only found out a few days ago that more than ten years ago, he had already joined forces with Orochimaru.

Using the body tissues Grandpa left behind, they secretly conducted human experiments, trying to recreate Wood Release."

Arima had long heard about this as well.

As for Danzo's past actions, he neither had the power to change anything nor the desire to judge them. In the end, the Danzo of this world was a complete stranger to him.

Arima nodded and smiled. "Tsunade, you must be hungry. Come on, today I'll show you what I can do."

Tsunade's expression instantly brightened.

She quickly stepped forward to walk alongside Arima, the two of them chatting and laughing all the way, as if they had completely forgotten about the little assistant Shizune behind them.

Meanwhile, Danzo was waiting for Arima's arrival in the Root base. After a long time, only two subordinates returned, empty-handed.

Danzo asked darkly, "Where is he?"

The two knelt on one knee and reported, "The Fifth Hokage intervened. Moreover, Arima appears unwilling to come."

Danzo slammed his cane heavily against the ground and said coldly, "Once Tsunade leaves, seize that man. I happen to be lacking a Senju clan test subject."

The two accepted the order and vanished into the darkness.

After they left, Danzo muttered in a low voice, "Arima… Arima… are you destined to follow the same path as those two?"

Back at Arima's shop, after Tsunade had eaten and drunk her fill and was thoroughly satisfied, she simply stayed there, stubbornly refusing to leave.

Shizune reminded her, "Lady Tsunade, don't you still have a lot of documents to deal with?"

Tsunade lounged lazily in a recliner, gazing at the sprawling, star-filled sky, and said.

"I'm not going anywhere today! Shizune, go back and take care of the paperwork for me. I'll be checking it tomorrow!"

Unable to persuade Lady Tsunade, Shizune had no choice but to return alone to the Hokage Building and work herself to the bone.

Arima was cleaning up the dishes in the kitchen.

He had heard the conversation in the courtyard and understood Tsunade's concern, which deeply moved him. However, he also felt a faint sense of unease.

If, at the beginning, he had regarded the Tsunade of this world as another facet of his wife's personality, then now he had completely changed that view.

The Tsunade before him was more like his wife's twin sister.

But because of that, he became even more uncertain about how to face this Tsunade. The emotional turmoil left Arima unable to confess his feelings.

About half an hour later, a group of unidentified figures suddenly appeared on the rooftops, completely surrounding Arima and Tsunade.
