Chapter 629: The Power of Will

Chapter 629: The Power of Will

"Come on, if I kill you and take your power, I'll have the confidence to face Lu Bu!" Yan Liang laughed loudly.

"I already have the strength to fight Lu Bu!" Guan Yu retorted coldly.

"Defeated, more like," Yan Liang sneered as he swung his massive Dragon-Slaying Blade towards Guan Yu's head.

"At least I dared to fight him, unlike you!" Guan Yu blocked Yan Liang's fierce blow with his Green Dragon Crescent Blade and counterattacked with a mighty strike of his own.

"I have self-awareness. Arrogant as you are, you're still not invincible," Yan Liang replied, as a blue aura of internal energy emerged from his horse, merging with his blood-red internal energy. The two forces burned intensely, intertwined in a fiery glow.

Similarly, a blazing red aura of internal energy surged from Guan Yu's curly-maned Red Hare horse, merging with his own blue internal energy. Both fighters were bathed in a mix of blue and red light as their strength surged, to the point where even the surrounding cloud energy couldn't fully suppress their power.

"Enough talk! Today, let's decide who is stronger!" Guan Yu's eyes narrowed, a cold glint flashing through them. He despised those who were similar to him, and Yan Liang was just such a person—an adversary who matched him in nearly every way.

"Come!" Yan Liang roared as he swung his blade horizontally towards Guan Yu. His internal energy concentrated on the blade, making it even more lethal. Likewise, his entire being channeled his energy, attacking Guan Yu with brutal force.

Guan Yu looked at Yan Liang with cold disdain, a faint glow of blue light surrounding him. Unlike Yan Liang, who retracted his internal energy into his body, Guan Yu's power manifested as a tangible aura, exuding an overpowering presence.

"Bang!" The two clashed fiercely, both realizing that the other was a formidable opponent. Neither held back, pouring all their strength into the battle. However, Guan Yu found himself unable to fully unleash his full power in such a situation, and Yan Liang, though surpassing his limits, also couldn't exert his full strength. Thus, the battle became a contest of raw, unrestrained power. With one powerful strike, Guan Yu shattered Yan Liang's blade stance, but at the same time, Yan Liang broke through Guan Yu's accumulated momentum, surprising Guan Yu.

Enraged, Yan Liang's strikes grew even fiercer, while Guan Yu's presence became even more imposing. The two battled fiercely, eventually moving away from the center of the battlefield, where the suppression of cloud energy diminished. With nothing holding them back, they fought with everything they had.

Yan Liang's strikes became increasingly powerful, fueled by his willpower, each blow building upon the last. His focus sharpened, and the power of his mind neared perfection. His Dragon-Slaying Blade clashed violently with Guan Yu's Green Dragon Crescent Blade.

Guan Yu's presence grew heavier and more intense, as the power of his will pushed him beyond his limits. His blade left trails of blue light with every swing, and his nearly perfect willpower allowed him to unleash almost 120% of his full strength.

"Clang!" The two warriors collided again, pulling their horses back as their aura infused their weapons. Both had nearly perfected their willpower, allowing them to push their power to its absolute peak.

"Green Dragon Crescent Slash!" "Dragon-Slaying Slash!" Almost simultaneously, Guan Yu and Yan Liang unleashed their ultimate attacks. Unlike others who might falter due to weakened willpower, both of them wielded their beliefs as weapons, striking with immense force.

"Boom!" A massive explosion followed their clash, and a cross-shaped scar extended for hundreds of meters from where they had stood. Both Guan Yu and Yan Liang floated in the air, their energy fluctuating.

"As expected, the Red Hare," Yan Liang muttered after the dust settled, standing atop his Azure Horse, his cold gaze fixed on Guan Yu. That last strike shouldn't have missed.

"Yuan Benchu's Azure Horse!" Guan Yu, riding his curly-maned Red Hare, remained unshaken. Yan Liang shouldn't have survived that last strike either.

"But as long as I've kept you occupied, it's enough. Without you commanding your troops, let's see how they capture my camp!" Yan Liang taunted, lowering his Dragon-Slaying Blade as he stared at Guan Yu.

"Hmph, I wouldn't make such a mistake. But you, without your command, let's see how your camp defends itself!" Guan Yu retorted, holding his Green Dragon Crescent Blade, his words provoking Yan Liang.

Guan Yu had realized that, while Yan Liang's internal energy was inferior to his own, his body was slightly stronger. Most importantly, Yan Liang's willpower was nearly perfect, allowing him to unleash 120% of his full strength with unshakable consistency.

Similarly, Yan Liang found himself with no easy solution against Guan Yu. Their physical and internal energy levels were comparable, leaving it to who could better utilize their abilities. Both had nearly perfected their willpower, making it a battle of equals.

Yan Liang had always believed that his near-perfect willpower, which allowed him to exert 120% of his strength, was fearsome—only slightly inferior to the monstrous Lu Bu. However, facing Guan Yu, he realized he had underestimated the heroes of the world.

Of course, Yan Liang didn't know that after Lu Bu broke through the "Spirit" realm, he could unleash twice his normal strength. With internal energy comparable to Guan Yu's, yet a stronger body capable of containing even more energy, Lu Bu could now overpower even three opponents at once.

In fact, Dian Wei's training method was the most correct—first forging a body as strong as a demon's, then using it to contain vast amounts of internal energy. However, even with his exceptional talent, Dian Wei had only just begun perfecting his body, and his internal energy couldn't keep up.

After some thought, Yan Liang decisively charged at Guan Yu on his Azure Horse. He wasn’t skilled at commanding troops, but he was a master at fighting!

"That's Yan Liang..." Zhao Yun, several miles away, glanced at the battlefield where Guan Yu and Yan Liang clashed. Realizing that Guan Yu's battlefield would never allow anyone to intervene, Zhao Yun decided not to assist.

After Lu Bu's breakthrough, Zhao Yun clearly understood what he lacked—his willpower wavered too much.

Even though Zhao Yun's internal energy had nearly reached the pinnacle of its potential, his unstable willpower prevented him from wielding it as effectively as Lu Bu, who could unleash 150% of his strength. At best, Zhao Yun could exert 90% of his power, with his usual output closer to 70%.
