My Wife is an Evil Dragon

Chapter 5: Kindness Devoured by a Dragon

“Remember, this is Unit Two of Building Number Three.”

“If I’m not home in the future, or if I’m busy with my own things in my room, you can go downstairs to forage for food… buy food. Don’t go to the wrong place.”

Xia Li felt like a big brother next door showing his little sister around his home.

He grabbed Lucia, who was walking in front of him, completely ignoring his words and just focused on munching on the bread.

“That’s Unit One,” Xia Li said calmly.

Lucia’s weight was unexpectedly light.

It was as if she really had the weight of a sixteen or seventeen-year-old girl. Xia Li was incredibly strong, and with just a slight lift, he could pick Lucia up like a cat.

Isn’t the weight of an evil dragon usually measured in tons?

Xia Li had rarely had the opportunity to be so close to a dragon in human form before. This feeling of being able to lift a dragon with one hand was quite subtle. “Forget it…” Xia Li retracted his previous statement.

“You probably won’t have the chance to come down and forage for food alone, so it doesn’t matter if you remember the house number or not.”

Anyway, dragons are generally lazy and homebodies. For this race that can sleep for several years and take care of everything in their lair, leaving her at home for a week or two shouldn’t be a problem.

“Throw the packaging in the trash can.”

Xia Li saw Lucia shake her Little Yellow Duck bath towel and throw all the plastic bags on the ground.

He felt it was necessary to correct this bad habit of the evil dragon.

“Packaging?”

It was the first time Lucia had heard of such a thing in her dragon life.

Looking in the direction Xia Li was pointing, Lucia saw the ‘bread protection magic’ she had thrown on the ground.

“The inedible parts outside the food are called packaging. Most of these things are made of plastic… which is this soft and hard thing that makes a rustling sound,” Xia Li explained concisely.

This was one of the most basic common sense things in this society.

He didn’t know if Lucia understood, but judging from her serious little face, at least her learning attitude was correct.

Lucia was new to Earth, and she would be curious about everything in this world. Xia Li could completely use her curiosity to guide her to be a good dragon.

“Leftover packaging is waste and should be thrown in the trash can. That’s the rule here.”

Xia Li pointed to the large green trash can downstairs.

Lucia nodded, seemingly understanding, and bent down to pick up the packaging on the ground.

Dragons were not completely unreasonable creatures. When dragons visited each other, they would abide by the rules of each other’s territory… This was an unspoken agreement among dragons.

Since she was being protected by the rules of this place, Lucia felt she should also abide by the rules here.

So she followed Xia Li’s instructions, picking up the things she had casually thrown away, and even remembering to pick up the two fallen leaves by her feet.

Although listening to the Brave Hero made her lose face.

But when the day came when she regained her strength, she would get back all the face she had lost!

Lucia, with a cold little face, put all the trash in its place.

Seeing her so obedient, Xia Li felt a little relieved.

Fortunately, this evil dragon wasn’t stubborn, otherwise his life would definitely be chaotic.

However, she ate so much…

She finished four whole loaves of bread in one go?

Did he pick up an evil dragon or a bottomless pit?

Xia Li took a breath and reached into his pocket to feel the gold coin.

The unique weight of this precious metal immediately made Xia Li feel a lot more at ease.

“…Come with me.”

Xia Li called Lucia to go upstairs with him.

The corridor of the old building was a bit dim. Because it was raining, the stairs were covered in wet footprints, and the air was filled with a faint musty smell.

Xia Li moved a few bicycles parked randomly at the entrance to the side and took out his phone to turn on the flashlight.

The infrastructure in this kind of community without property management was very poor. Xia Li had lived here for a year and had never seen the motion-sensor lights in the corridor turn on.

Usually it was fine, he was used to the height of the stairs, but he was worried that the dragon behind him would fall, so he specially turned on a light for her.

◈◈◈

Unexpectedly, as soon as Xia Li shone the flashlight on his phone, Lucia took a step back without warning.

“Su-such strong holy light magic!”

“It’s a pity I’m not a black dragon… so I’m not afraid of holy light!”

If this magic really had no lethality, Lucia would have suspected that the Brave Hero Xia Li was trying to sneak attack her.

Too bad!

He actually used holy light magic to shine on her face!

Xia Li: “…”

Kindness was truly devoured by a dog… no, by a dragon.

Looking at Lucia, who was spouting chuunibyou lines and making exaggerated gestures, Xia Li found it amusing and shook the flashlight in his hand.

Lucia closed her eyes, stretched her hands out in front of her, and exclaimed sincerely:

“Hmm, the penetration is very strong, even with my eyes closed I can feel the radiance of the holy light!”

“And why doesn’t your holy light magic require chanting and can last for so long!”

“This is a flashlight…”

Xia Li was about to explain to the dragon what a flashlight was when the sound of footsteps from the stairwell made him stop immediately.

Xia Li reached out and pulled Lucia, who was still in a daze, to the corner.

“Xia Li, you’re back.”

“Aunt Zhao, you got off work early today.”

“Yes, it’s raining today, so I came back early.”

The middle-aged woman, carrying two baskets of vegetables, greeted Xia Li amicably.

Xia Li responded politely and took the initiative to make way for her.

After the woman was gone, Xia Li nervously released the dragon he had been squeezing in the corner.

“Was that… a very great human?”

It was the first time Lucia had seen the Brave Hero Xia Li be so polite to other humans.

Of course, she hadn’t seen it many times, after all, every time they met, they would immediately start fighting.

“The neighbor downstairs.” Xia Li replied.

“Then what are you nervous about?”

“She knows my mom. If she saw me hanging out with a girl of unknown origin… Forget it, you wouldn’t understand.”

“I definitely won’t understand if you don’t tell me.”

Lucia tried to understand with her limited wisdom: “Because your mother is also a Brave Hero, if she knew you were hanging out with a silver dragon, she would beat you up.”

“…You can understand it that way.”

Actually, it didn’t matter if she was a dragon or not. The main thing was that Xia Li had disappeared for a week for no reason, and he didn’t know if his parents had noticed.

If they knew that he not only disappeared for a week, but also brought a girl home to live with him, Xia Li wouldn’t be able to explain it even if he wore his lips out.

“Come in.”

Arriving at the metal door on the third floor, Xia Li opened the door.

“Wow…”

This was the first time Lucia had entered a human’s home so openly, let alone the Brave Hero’s.

She widened her bright eyes, and the wind blowing through the hallway ruffled the hair on her forehead.

“Xia Li, your house is so small!”

This was Lucia Sivana’s first comment after coming to Xia Li’s house.
