Chapter 281 - 273: Please Take Care of Me, Girlfriend

Chapter 281 - 273: Please Take Care of Me, Girlfriend

The threat in his words made everyone from the Core Lineage turn pale.

But Stephen Lowell remained still, merely saying, "See yourself out..."

Finn Lowell stiffened. With an ugly expression, he let out a cold snort and strode out with his men.

Just as he entered the courtyard, a basin of cold water came splashing toward him. Finn Lowell dodged quickly, but some of it still splashed the side of his shoe.

Aurora quickly lowered her head, feigning a look of fear. Beside her, Alvin Morgan shot her a helpless glance, pulled her back, and made an apologetic gesture toward Finn Lowell.

Finn Lowell shot them a dark glare. He pursed his lips and, mindful of his status, strode away.

But the follower behind him wasn’t so forgiving. He raised a fist and moved toward Aurora, cursing, "Are you blind?"

One of Stephen Lowell’s disciples shouted, "What do you think you’re doing? They’re ordinary people."

"Ivan—" Finn Lowell called from the doorway, his expression grim.

Ivan Lowell shot Aurora a vicious glare, clenched his fist, and walked away.

After they left, Alvin took advantage of the moment to whisper, "What did you see?"

"Great Martial Master Level, about the same as Stephen Lowell."

Alvin Morgan smiled and patted her on the head. "What, you want to help Stephen Lowell?"

But she just shook her head.

「That night.」

Once Alvin Morgan was sound asleep, Aurora quietly got up. She changed into a set of night clothes, put on a face mask and a black cloak, and slipped out the open window.

After a few leaps and bounds, she arrived at a secluded courtyard.

Under the moonlight, a figure lay on the ground, seemingly devoid of strength, gazing up at the starry sky, lost in thought.

"You’ll never become one of the strong acting like this." A raspy voice came from Aurora.

Ethan Lowell shot upright and saw a dark figure perched atop the high courtyard wall.

The silhouette looked mysterious and eerie in the moonlight.

"Who are you?"

"Just a passerby."

Ethan Lowell’s brow furrowed. He stared at the dark figure for a moment, then suddenly stood up and respectfully performed an Ancient Martial Ceremony.

’This person is definitely a master. If they hadn’t spoken, I never would have noticed them.’

"Senior, I am Ethan Lowell. Please, tell me—how do I become one of the strong?"

Aurora replied coolly, "The strong need more than just power; they need the heart of a warrior. You’ll never get stronger by holing yourself up and training in isolation."

Suddenly, she leaped from the wall, striking at Ethan Lowell with incredible speed.

His reflexes were sharp, and he immediately went on the defensive.

Aurora kept one arm behind her back, fighting him with only a single hand.

’Ethan Lowell’s Strength is decent, but his techniques are all for show. It seems no one has ever properly corrected his form.’

Aurora sent him staggering back with a single punch and slowly withdrew her hand. "You’re too weak."

The words pierced his heart like a knife, just as Indie Lowell’s had once done.

Ethan Lowell struggled to suppress the churning qi and blood in his chest. With a roar that seemed torn from his throat, he thrust his palm at Aurora again.

This time, his Strength and speed were far greater than before, as if he was putting every ounce of his being into the attack.

But he still couldn’t land a blow. Instead, she struck several major acupoints on his body, sending him crashing to the ground.

Ethan Lowell’s body burned with a searing pain, feeling as if it no longer belonged to him. He tried to stand, but had no Strength left.

Aurora slowly walked over and sat cross-legged beside him. With her fingers, she pressed several more major acupoints on his body.

Soon, several powerful, warm currents flowed into his body, repairing his meridians and muscles as they moved.

’Ethan Lowell’s meridians are very thin and have quite a few blockages, but they’re in much better shape than Alvin Morgan’s. It only took her one night to clear a third of them.’

As dawn broke, Aurora gradually withdrew her Power.

"Senior, please take me as your disciple!" Ethan Lowell scrambled to his feet and knelt on the ground.

He didn’t know what this master had done, but he could feel his body was much lighter and his abilities had taken a quantum leap. It was very likely he had broken through to the Fifth Rank of Great Warrior.

Aurora slightly adjusted the Power within her body and shook her head. "I don’t take disciples. I only came because our paths were fated to cross. I will leave when I’ve rested enough. You and I have never met."

The light in Ethan Lowell’s eyes dimmed considerably as he watched the dark figure swiftly depart and vanish without a trace.

***

「Meanwhile.」

Aurora tiptoed to the window and pushed it open, only to see a familiar figure leaning against the frame, watching her with a faint, knowing smile.

"Morgan..."

"Where did you go?"

Aurora’s gaze flickered. She climbed through the window, but Alvin didn’t move aside, forcing their bodies close together.

Alvin loomed over her, his arm braced against the window frame, trapping her in his arms as he looked down at her.

"You went to see Ethan Lowell?"

Aurora seemed to deflate a little and nodded meekly.

Alvin closed the window and pulled her into his arms. "Staying up all night to have a secret rendezvous with another man. Aurora, I’m a little angry."

With that, he tilted her chin up, bent down, and kissed her.

The moment their lips met, Aurora’s body went rigid.

The soft, warm touch sent a jolt like an electric current straight to her heart, making the very core of her being tingle.

It felt as if every pore on her skin was opening, her body trembling faintly.

Her face instantly flushed, growing hotter and hotter until it felt like something had exploded. Her mind went completely blank.

’Alvin had originally intended just a single kiss to show her how he felt.’

’He hadn’t expected her to be like candy—so soft and sweet that once he tasted her, he couldn’t bear to let go. He wished he could just melt her into his very being.’

Without realizing it, he deepened the kiss.

Aurora was kissed until she was dizzy and breathless.

Alvin’s arms wrapped around her tighter and tighter...

"COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO—"

Suddenly, a rooster’s crow echoed from outside.

As if shocked back to life, Aurora quickly pushed Alvin away, her face beet red as she panted for breath.

Her delicate lips were a luscious red, glistening with a sheen that would make anyone’s gaze darken.

Alvin licked the lingering sweetness from his lips, still wanting more. A smile curved his lips as he hugged her again. "You’re so sweet."

Aurora’s body trembled again. She lowered her head and nervously began to recite the Heart Calming Scripture.

Alvin chuckled softly and whispered in her ear, "Aurora, I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want to wait for you too long. Your master said the Sect Leader can’t get married, but he never said she can’t be in a relationship. We can be in a relationship that never ends."

His warm breath tickled her ear. Aurora abruptly lifted her head, meeting a pair of eyes filled with love and adoration.

His eyes reflected only her, and his smile was like a spring breeze melting the snow—so warm she felt she could drown in it.

It was as if having him meant having all of spring.

He said, "Then I’ll be in your care, girlfriend."

Wisps of cooking smoke began to rise over Silverwood.

But in the kitchen of the Lowell Residence, the smell of something burning wafted out.

Aurora rushed to salvage it, but the bottom of the pot was already burnt black.

"Let me, you go rest." Drawn by the smell, Alvin walked in, took the spoon from her hand, and poured the burnt congee aside. He then started a new pot with fresh rice.

Aurora sat nearby and watched him, her cheeks flushing red again.

’A warmth spread through her heart, but it was tinged with a sense of guilt.’

’She felt as if she was letting her master down...’

Meanwhile, at a breakfast stall somewhere, Master Aerion sneezed. ’Did I catch a cold again?’

"Owner, another bowl of wonton soup!"

The words had barely left his mouth when he heard the sound of a stool being kicked over behind him.

Immediately after, a gruff voice called out:

"Owner, the usual."

"Coming, Mr. Sutton!" The owner’s voice was a mix of fawning and fear. He bowed and scraped before immediately fetching some meat buns.

After setting them down, he added with an obsequious smile, "Enjoy your meal, sir. I’ll get you more if it’s not enough."

But Mr. Sutton sized him up and suddenly asked, "Have you seen a brother and sister around town the last few days? They’re young, new faces..."

The owner stiffened and said hesitantly, "Mr. Sutton, I get a lot of people in and out of here, mostly tourists. I really can’t say I remember."

The goon beside him, displeased, slammed his hand on the table and roared, "Cut the fucking crap! If you haven’t seen them, then start paying attention."

"Yes, yes, of course... What do they look like?"

"The girl has pigtails and freckles. The guy is around six feet tall and on the thin side..."

Hearing this, Master Aerion’s brow furrowed.
