Chapter 653 - 654: Who Is That Woman?
Chapter 653 - 654: Who Is That Woman?
The red Bentley car slid across the driveway, crafting a striking vista, reaching its maximum speed. Melody Thorne had completely forgotten that she was pregnant. At the entrance of the Thorne Family mansion, Melody Thorne unfastened her seatbelt through the car window, attempting to get out of the car. Her gaze caught sight of a middle-aged woman standing outside. The woman was dressed in opulence, her simple dress exuding a sense of intellectual elegance. She stood not far from the Thorne Family mansion, observing something.
"Excuse me, is anyone here?" the woman’s eyes peered into the Thorne Family estate as she spoke.
Coincidentally, a servant walked out, well-acquainted with the internal situation,
"Sir and Ma’am are not here, they’ve gone out. If you have any business, you can sit inside for a while. I’ll call them to ask when they’ll return."
"No need, I’ll come another day," the woman turned to leave, suddenly looking back inside, "They have a daughter, don’t they?"
"Yes, are you here for Miss Thorne? She’s not here; she hasn’t been home these days, probably off at some bar again," the servant assumed she was referring to Rochelle Thorne, not thinking much of it.
"She likes to go to bars?" the woman asked again, "Can you tell me which bar she usually goes to?"
"Sure, sure, our Miss Thorne going to bars isn’t a secret. It’s the biggest bar on that commercial street over there."
"Okay, thank you, thank you."
The woman turned and left, while Melody Thorne removed her sunglasses, not catching a glimpse of the woman’s face, as she wore a mask.
"Who was that woman?" Melody Thorne walked over.
"I don’t know, seemed like she was looking for Miss Thorne," the servant replied, then realized she had misspoken, correcting herself, "I meant she was looking for Miss Rochelle Thorne."
"Are my parents not here?"
"No, Sir and Ma’am have been busy these days, saying they’re trying to recover their past memories."
"Alright, let them know I stopped by when they return."
"Yes, Miss Thorne."
Melody Thorne drove back to the villa, not bothering with Kiki Sutton anymore, letting things take their course.
"Ma’am?" the butler spoke.
Melody Thorne acknowledged and saw two figures sitting in the living room, said nothing, and headed straight upstairs.
"Dad, dad," Timmy nudged Jared Quinn’s arm to let him know Melody had returned.
Jared Quinn acknowledged softly, put down the financial newspaper he was reading, and started to head upstairs, his footsteps steady and measured.
Melody Thorne quickly entered the bedroom and locked the door. She was full of anger now.
The thought of Hans Montrose infuriated her even more. She was at a point where saving him wasn’t an option, nor was not saving him. She was emotionally exhausted and didn’t want to deal with it anymore, especially as Jared’s actions seemed particularly foolish to her.
Jared Quinn originally wanted to hug her and soothe her gently, but the woman inside didn’t give him any face. He rubbed his nose with his large hand and raised it to knock on the door, knowing she was truly upset today. His voice softened considerably, "Do you want to eat the crystal shrimp your husband made? Hmm? If so, give me a response."
There was no sound from inside.
The butler and Timmy’s gazes also came from downstairs, showing a distinct lack of face.
Inside, Melody Thorne took out her pajamas, took a bath, and after lying on the bed, she slept. She was particularly tired after several days.
