"Awoo, awoo!!!" Three wild men glared at Gao Fei, shouting loudly.

This time, Gao Fei didn't mimic the wild men's speech, for he had sensed something amiss. Damn it, he had screwed up! What to do now? If it came to blows, I definitely wouldn't stand a chance against them!

Seeing Gao Fei standing still without moving, one of the tall wild men reached out to push Gao Fei, mumbling some strange words.

Taking advantage of the wild men's daze, Gao Fei quickly walked over, untied the grass ropes binding Shangguan Yunyue, then hoisted her up by the waist and started running towards the distance.

The three wild men finally snapped out of it and started chasing after them.

"Hold onto my neck tightly!" Gao Fei called out.

Shangguan Yunyue instinctively clung to Gao Fei's neck, her dark eyes intently gazing at him: "Why did you save me?"

"Because I'm an idiot!" Gao Fei took a few quick strides, then leaped high, took two steps in the air, and jumped into a stream, "So cold!" he shivered, "it's bone-chillingly cold!" The icy stream continually washed over Gao Fei's body, causing him immense pain.

Shangguan Yunyue was also chilled to the bone, her body trembling nonstop.

A group of wild men ran over.

"Hey, insult just me if you must, but leave my family out of it, or I'll get mad," Gao Fei replied.

"Oh, I hadn't seen that coming. You're actually quite protective of your family," Shangguan Yunyue said with a sneer: "I thought you were a cold-blooded creature."

"Correction, I'm not an animal, I'm human!"

"In my eyes, you are an animal, a despicable and shameless, lowly animal."

"...All of a sudden, I really feel like slapping you."

"You dare! Touch me and see what happens!" Shangguan Yunyue glared and shouted.

Gao Fei extended a finger and poked Shangguan Yunyue, "I touched you, what can you do about it?"

"You..."

"You what? You think about biting me?"

"Touch me again and see what happens!"

"I just touched you, so what." Gao Fei poked Shangguan Yunyue again with his finger.

"You jerk!" Shangguan Yunyue was livid. Gao Fei had saved her and she had felt some gratitude, but now... all the gratitude she had just felt vanished, replaced by anger, annoyance, and irritation: "Jerk!!! Big jerk!!!"

Gao Fei laughed: "Besides calling people jerks, what else can you do?"

"Gao! I swear to heaven: I will never let you go!"

"I also swear to heaven that I won't let you go!"

This pair of adversaries quarreled as they spoke, neither giving in, the quarrel getting fiercer by the minute.

Just then, the howling of savages came from afar.

"Not good! The savages are coming!" Gao Fei stood up, ready to run.

"Get back here!" Shangguan Yunyue panicked: "You can't leave me here alone!"

Gao Fei stopped in his tracks, looking at Shangguan Yunyue with a smile that wasn't quite a smile: "Weren't you just acting tough? Now you're scared? Beg me, and if you do, I'll take you with me."

"Dream on." Shangguan Yunyue huffed: "To think I would beg you, there's no way."

"Then stay here and wait for the savages!"

"I'd rather be killed by savages than beg you!"

"Good! That's spirit!" Gao Fei clapped his hands: "I admire that!" After saying that, Gao Fei turned and walked away quickly, without a trace of hesitation, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

"You jerk! You big jerk!!!" Shangguan Yunyue screamed with all her might: "Gao! I'm not done with you!"

"Oooh oooh..."

The howls of the savages sounded clearer and closer.

Fear was apparent on Shangguan Yunyue's face as she struggled to her feet and staggered forward, but just a few steps later, "Thump!" she tripped over a protruding stone. Her knees were scraped, hurting so much that Shangguan Yunyue began to cry. "Gao Fei! You jerk! I hate you! I hate you to death!" Shangguan Yunyue clenched her teeth, got up from the ground, and continued to run.

Few steps down the road, she fell again, this time harder, bleeding from both arms, with lacerations on her legs. She looked extremely pitiful.
