Chapter 314 - 311 King Bear Writes a Diary
Chapter 314 - 311 King Bear Writes a Diary
```
The dwelling was large and spacious.
Luminous Pearls embedded in the walls sparkled brilliantly with a dazzling array of colors, leaving one dazzled and entranced.
The dwelling was divided into three parts: the first part was the living room, furnished with tables and chairs; the second part was the bedroom, where a stone bed had been placed; the third part was a secret room for meditation and cultivation.
"How long did that bear live here?" Gao Fei asked.
"No more than ten years, I guess?" The monkey counted on its fingers, "It moved in after advancing to the Golden Core Stage."
"I hope I can find an antidote here," Gao Fei started searching around the dwelling.
The monkey wasn't idle either and helped Gao Fei look for the antidote.
They searched the living room and found nothing.
Then they searched the bedroom, still nothing.
Next, they searched the secret room... and this time there was a find.
"There's a hidden compartment here, quite concealed," Gao Fei reached out and tapped a few times on the wall, "Click!" A small cavity appeared, and inside was a small box. Gao Fei took out the box and gently touched it—the lid popped open.
Inside the box was an animal hide covered with writing.
"What is this writing?" Gao Fei furrowed his brow, "It looks like scribbles."
The monkey came over and took a glance, "This is the script of our beast kind; you humans would certainly not recognize it."
"Translate it for me," Gao Fei handed the hide to the monkey, "Word for word."
The monkey unfolded the hide and began to read it verbatim, "I am very glad to be a bear, mighty and impressive with an extraordinary presence!
Blessed with excellent cultivation talent, while other Ferocious Beasts were still struggling, I advanced to the Golden Core Stage and became the highest-cultivation Ferocious Beast in Beast King Valley; all Ferocious Beasts have to heed my command..." At this point, the monkey suddenly stopped.
"Why stop? Keep translating!" Gao Fei urged.
"Can I catch my breath for a moment?" the monkey said irritably.
"Just a few sentences and you need a break? Are you made of paper?" Gao Fei snorted.
"...After advancing to the Golden Core Stage, I moved into Pansi Cave..." the monkey continued translating the writing on the hide, "In Beast King Valley, Pansi Cave is known as an ominous place. Anyone who has lived there has met with a miserable death! I, on the other hand, refused to believe that superstition. I was determined to live in Pansi Cave; I wanted to see just how cursed it really was."
"Calculating the days, it's been several months since I moved in, and everything has been peaceful."
"Years have passed, and still, nothing has happened."
"It seems that Pansi Cave has no power over me."
"I can live here with peace of mind."
"Several years later, I suddenly discovered an extra bead within me, dark and slick, closely resembling a Golden Core. This discovery was quite unsettling, as I feared something had gone wrong with me..."
"After observing for some time, I finally understood the purpose of the black bead. It was round and resembled a Golden Core, but inside it harbored an extremely domineering poison Qi."
"How could this be? Why would there be a Poisonous Pill inside of me? Was Pansi Cave playing tricks? Is it really that malicious?"
"Initially, I was very frightened, terrified that the Poisonous Pill would shatter and poison me to death. For years, I lived in fear, but seeing the Poisonous Pill stay intact within me, without any signs of breaking, my fearful heart finally found some relief."
"I claimed to the outside world that I had formed two Golden Cores inside of me, one gold and one black. The two Cores coexisted harmoniously within me, without the slightest bit of rejection. This news, once spread, elicited doubts and challenges from many Ferocious Beasts."
"I couldn't stand it, so I took out the two beads, one gold and one black. The multitude of Ferocious Beasts immediately fell silent."
"They all said I was a rare genius and my future was boundless."
"After living a stable and comfortable life for a while, I began to research the Poisonous Pill within me. Although it seemed there was no immediate danger of it shattering, what about in the future? Over time, could the Poisonous Pill mutate? To be safe, I decided it was better to make some preparations—better safe than sorry."
"Years of research finally led to some clues..."
"That's it!" the monkey shrugged.
"What do you mean 'that's it'?" Gao Fei asked.
```
"Finished reading, huh."
"Impossible! The matter isn't over yet!"
"I didn't lie to you, that's all the text there is on the beast skin... don't believe me, look for yourself."
"If I could read the writing on the beast skin, I wouldn't need you to translate it."
"I've already translated it, word for word, without missing anything. If you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do."
Gao Fei's eyes blazed as he stared at the monkey, "I'm asking you one last time, is there anything you've left out!"
"Nothing left," the monkey said confidently.
"Bang!"
Gao Fei kicked out without warning, hitting the monkey in the stomach dead on, "Ouch!" The monkey screamed as it flew through the air.
"Boom!"
The monkey slammed into the wall and then rolled onto the ground. It clasped its stomach with two paws, its expression one of unbearable pain, "Why are you hitting me... aren't you going to be reasonable..."
Gao Fei walked over with light steps, "Is there something missing in the content on the beast skin?"
"Yes," the monkey nodded hurriedly.
"Bang!"
Gao Fei kicked again.
"Ah!"
The monkey clutched its shoulder and began to wail.
"Is the content on the beast skin really incomplete?" Gao Fei repeated his question.
"It's true, it's true... Ahh!!" Before the monkey could finish its sentence, Gao Fei kicked it again, sending it tumbling through the air before crashing heavily to the ground.
"Think again carefully."
"It's really incomplete, I'm not lying to you!"
"Bang!"
"Ah!"
...
One question, one kick.
In the blink of an eye, the monkey became deathly pale, with a twisted face, a swollen nose and bruised cheeks, trembling lightly.
"Is it incomplete!" After asking, Gao Fei raised his foot, ready to kick if the monkey's answer wasn't satisfactory.
"It is... it isn't..." The monkey was now speaking incoherently.
"Speak clearly!"
"It isn't... The content on the beast skin isn't incomplete, I deliberately hid some of it earlier."
"Just as I thought." Gao Fei sneered coldly, "You've got guts! Daring to deceive me!" With that, he gave the monkey a forceful kick.
"Ouch." The monkey cried out in pain, "Stop hitting me, please, I beg you, no more, I'll translate for you right away, I'll tell you everything that's written after!"
"If you had done this sooner, you wouldn't need to suffer." Gao Fei sneered.
The monkey picked itself up off the ground, trembling as it picked up the beast skin, and translated the remaining content.
This time, the monkey didn't dare to be sneaky or deceptive, because it was frightened by Gao Fei.
