Chapter 610 - 608: Accommodation

"Huh? A good place, this..."

Jiang Yufan thought for a while and remembered a very popular hotel nearby, and she knew the proprietress there. She was a fellow villager who married a nouveau riche and later became the proprietress.

The proprietress had a good temper, wasn’t pretentious, and didn’t show off, so Jiang Yufan quite liked her. She said to Chen Tianlong, "When we get to town, I’ll take you to a hotel where I know people. It should be a lot cheaper."

Chen Tianlong nodded. The hotel cost wasn’t an issue for him. He had millions in his account, and although he promised the orphanage, he hadn’t yet transferred his money into the director’s account, so he was well-funded for now.

The car quickly reached the town, and after getting off, Chen Tianlong followed Jiang Yufan toward the town center.

Looking at the bustling scenes, Chen Tianlong was shocked. This was supposed to be a town, but it felt like a big city, no less impressive than the center of South Sea City.

It lacked the towering skyscrapers and the loud honking of car horns. Maybe it was because the streets were smaller, so there weren’t as many cars, but it was a sea of people, very lively.

Chen Tianlong couldn’t help but feel how backward their Sanketan Town was. At that moment, a surge of desire to develop his hometown came over him. Once he succeeded in his career, he definitely wanted to invest heavily in his hometown and build it into a big city.

"Chen Tianlong, the Meijia Hotel in front is Mo’s hotel. She used to be my neighbor. I often played with her as a kid. She’s not much older than me." Jiang Yufan said with a smile.

Chen Tianlong looked at the hotel not far away. It looked impressive, seemingly a three-star hotel. But on second thought, opening a three-star hotel in a small town was no easy feat.

Generally, three-star and above hotels are mostly national chains, but this hotel seemed to be independent.

Because Chen Tianlong had never seen this hotel name before. Meijia Hotel was only famous in this place called Kangqiao Town, a place frequented by the local elite for consumption.

Ordinary folks would certainly find it unattainable.

"Okay, sure, I’ll listen to you. After all, I’m unfamiliar with this place." Chen Tianlong said with a slight smile.

The two of them walked straight ahead and soon reached the Meijia Hotel. It was already past eight, and with darkness covering the sky, Chen Tianlong didn’t bother with dinner and headed directly to the front desk to book a room.

"Excuse me, handsome and beautiful, what kind of room do you need? We still have two couples’ suites. Would you like one?" the receptionist asked.

"This..." Chen Tianlong was about to explain when Jiang Yufan interrupted him.

"Chen Tianlong, wait a moment. I’ll call Mo and talk to her first." Jiang Yufan said softly.

Chen Tianlong was taken aback, then immediately understood. He smiled at the receptionist and said, "Sorry, just a moment."

"Oh, it’s okay." The receptionist, seeing how polite Chen Tianlong was, maintained a friendly attitude. At this time, Jiang Yufan took out her phone and dialed the number.

After five or six rings, the call was answered. A proud voice came from the other end, "Hello, who’s this?"

"Mo, it’s Yufan, Jiang Yufan from Lingxiu Village. I’m at your hotel now, could you..." Jiang Yufan hesitated to finish her sentence, but she felt Mo would understand.

"Oh? I see, but I’m currently busy with some big clients. Just follow the usual process first, and I’ll help with discounts when I’m free."

It was clear Mo Ying was being evasive. She used to be nice, but that was many years ago. She had been married for five years and, after experiencing things, had become slick and more of an opportunist.

If it were nobles or aristocrats, she would certainly welcome them gladly and offer discounts. However, Jiang Yufan was just a village girl in Mo Ying’s eyes, and despite her grandmother’s proficiency in Gu skill, performing exorcism business at home, Mo Ying didn’t see it as noteworthy.

"This..."

Just as Jiang Yufan was about to say something, Mo Ying hung up the phone, and the sobbing sounds came from the other end, leaving Jiang Yufan a bit depressed. Perhaps there would be no discount, and following the process, who would continue to ask for a discount for mere tens or a hundred yuan.

Sighing lightly, Jiang Yufan awkwardly said to Chen Tianlong, "Well... Chen Tianlong, we can’t get a discount. Mo isn’t available."

Chen Tianlong chuckled bitterly; it wasn’t that she wasn’t available—a phone call could resolve it by contacting the front desk and having them transfer it. She just wasn’t willing to help them.

"It’s okay, it’s not a lot of money anyway. Let’s go ahead and book our rooms." Chen Tianlong smiled and said.

"Oh, all right then." Jiang Yufan felt a bit apologetic since Chen Tianlong didn’t blame her but instead shifted the topic. She, of course, couldn’t dwell on it.

So the two walked back to the front desk. Chen Tianlong said, "Alright, receptionist, we’d like two single rooms, please."

"Huh? Single rooms?"

The receptionist was a bit surprised. Initially, she thought Chen Tianlong and Jiang Yufan were a couple, so when they came to book a room earlier, she saved the last couple’s suite for them as most other rooms were booked out.

She didn’t know why so many people from out of town came today, and with their hotel having limited rooms, seven were booked earlier, making it fully occupied.

"What’s wrong? I said I wanted two single rooms, is there a problem?" Chen Tianlong thought the receptionist hadn’t heard him clearly.

"Well... no problem, but all the single rooms were booked earlier, and now we only have one couples’ suite left. I assumed you two were a couple, so..." the receptionist awkwardly explained.

"..." Chen Tianlong was speechless. Why did people have such dirty minds nowadays? Just because a man and a woman come to stay in a room doesn’t mean they’re a couple?

"So, do you want to stay or not? There’s only one couple’s room left; maybe you should try somewhere else." The receptionist suggested, as she was a local girl who didn’t want to make it difficult for them.

Jiang Yufan looked at the pitch-black outside and realized that there seemed to be no other places that could be counted as lodgings, safe, and hygienic. After thinking, she bit her lip and said, "Receptionist, we’ll take this one."

"Huh?"

The receptionist’s expression was a bit complex, but she realized her reaction was a bit excessive, since the female lead hadn’t said anything. Why was she so surprised? So she quickly composed herself, smiled, and said, "Okay, sir, do you have any objections? The lady said she’d stay with you."
