Chapter 2676 - 893: For That Light, Draw Your Blade!
It must be said that Biqi’s reasoning, based on the fact that The Master of Hunting is a god yet to awaken, and so is the Holy Light, that whatever The Master of Hunting can achieve, the Holy Light can do as well, embodies a peculiar brisk beauty characteristic of warriors.
Not to mention that the developmental stages of these two belief entities cannot be compared on the same day, just consider that the faith in The Master of Hunting has formally taken shape for over a century, and even during the primitive years before that, the Wolf People always spoke of their god, which is a godly shaping with a foundation of heritage.
And what about the Holy Light?
Your Doctrine of Holy Light only took root and flourished in Transylvania for around seven months in total count, and the ability for the Holy Light’s Seed of Holy Light to even stir up ripples in the subspace relies heavily on the emotional richness of foreigners.
There is fundamentally no comparability between the two.
However, this is also due to Biqi’s thinking being misled by others always mentioning the saying "The Master of Hunting is about to be born."
The "birth" and "awakening" of the Divine Spirit should be more aptly called "coming of age," according to Triss’s profound research into the mysteries of gods. This unique existence must first have a symbolic presence in the subspace to give birth to the core of faith, and then shape its visage according to the divine domain it is extolled for, only after which can it further draw faith based on its visage to establish a Divine Kingdom.
Once the Divine Kingdom is established, the god of faith can truly enter the process of "birth" or "coming of age."
This entire process heavily relies on the collective imagination of the believers. Whatever most of the believers imagine the god to be like, the god formed by gathering faith will possess such an appearance.
Triss believes this is the truth of faith: a collective imagination based on people with common goals and needs, and many who wish to shape supernatural forces that transcend the rules of the world through metaphysical means.
Because it is born from the common imagination of followers, the god must also fulfill its divine role after birth, broadly realizing the desires of the believers, and thus the interaction of faith formally takes shape.
Of course, the actual operation of faith is an extremely complex Chaos System, far beyond what can be encapsulated in a few words. But from Triss’s theoretical perspective, Biqi’s act of calling upon the Holy Light for help at this moment is undoubtedly met with no response.
Not because the Holy Light is indifferent.
But because it is truly willing yet powerless.
Its long journey to godhood hasn’t even completed the initial step of visage shaping, not to mention it’s still a long way from establishing a Divine Kingdom; where would the supernatural power feedback for its believers come from!
Yet...
Since the process itself resides within an unpredictable chaotic system, the occurrence of an accident is highly probable. This kind of accident itself has another name, which mortals typically summarize as "miracle."
The starting point of the Holy Light faith in Transylvania was abnormal. Compared to other faiths that took time and effort to slowly gather followers and establish doctrines and rites to guide the progress of that collective imagination, the faith in Holy Light already had a complete set of doctrines, rituals, and even a fairly mature operational system before it emerged in this metaphysical world.
The doctrines spread by the players for role-playing purposes logically hold up.
The priests of the Avalon Church are truly professional and private, yet they have never doubted the reality of the Holy Light, simply because the system introduced by the players doesn’t look like a complete system based on false lies no matter how you view it.
Not only do they have rich doctrines, but they also have a plethora of popular saint stories, and they’ve even developed the "coexistence of light and dark" as a highly practiced and almost all-encompassing, even shameless way of doctrinal interpretation, which makes Holy Light Believers nearly Invincible in debates.
The divine role of the Holy Light was also determined from the very beginning.
Guarding hope, Radiant Retribution, and purification healing, and even the visage of the Holy Light has been strictly confined to that burst of light traversing the Star Sea from the Dark Chaos during the birth of all things.
These outrageous people not only brought these systems that might require decades or even centuries to naturally develop through faith, but they even constrained the visages of the Holy Light’s emissaries and symbols into form.
The development of such a church in Transylvania far exceeds the tentative exploration of the Avalon Church at its inception, and under this system, the development of faith cannot possibly go astray. Everything is already scheduled, and what the believers need to do is to pray in place according to the rules and doctrines.
The fact that the Holy Light’s Seed of Holy Light in the subspace could stir up ripples so quickly has a share of this factor at play. The birth of other godly faiths progresses at a leisurely pace on their two legs, while this Holy Light fellow races at supersonic speeds towards the finish line seated on a Mig-29.
Most extraordinarily, in addition to these already incredible advantages, Murphy, a diligent Dog Planner, sought divine cooperation all around to quickly perfect the Holy Light doctrine’s professional system.
Avalon shared a part of the healing symbol of the Mother of Forest with the Seed of Holy Light.
The God of the North Wind shared its combat powers with that lucky one.
Due to the Brass Fortress incident, Gaia owed Murphy a significant favor. Although the Mother Earth showed her pride by claiming not to care at all, she still swiftly granted the authority symbol of a guardian amulet to the Holy Light in private.
