Chapter 2491 - 831: The Dog Planner Goes All Out for the New Class (Big Fake) (2)
Murphy was tossing a piece of ore he casually picked up in his hand, planning to use it as a medium to communicate with the Earth Mother Goddess. He was confident he could receive a response from the mother goddess, but he did not anticipate Gaia’s response to be so swift.
The gossip had not finished when a force originating from the ground beneath suddenly erupted, pulling Murphy’s mind into a fantastical realm.
Just like the earlier conversation with Su took place within the presence of the God of the North Wind, divine spirits have their own methods of communication.
As the dizziness from the Earth Walking Technique slightly subsided, Murphy looked up to see himself standing in a unique space entirely formed by underground veins and gemstones. Strange giant rocks formed bizarre subterranean ridges, and within the dark, deathly silence, he could feel the pulse of the earth, like the heartbeat of the world.
Murphy looked down, the cross-sectional magma spread throughout the veins, nurturing countless luxurious stones. Expensive gemstone mines were everywhere, and the natural wonders that sparkled could make any lady who accidentally walked in scream in fascination.
This was the manifestation of the Mother Earth, the ruler of mountains and rivers, the holder of the Heart of the World and the Power of the Earth.
But Lady Gaia was different from Su.
She did not have a specific form, this domain that could be called the "Heart of the Earth" was her existence.
"Honorable Mother Gaia, the Brass Fortress is finished. The dwarves you banished ran into big trouble. Although a new-born God of Wealth is willing to shelter them, I guess there is still some incense relationship between you and them, so before I get involved, I must obtain your permission.
What I mean is, I need to know what kind of outcome you hope to see for the Brass Dwarves?"
It was not Murphy’s first time to meet a divine spirit, naturally, he behaved quite appropriately. He concisely stated his needs and awaited the response from the mother goddess.
This conversation was destined not to last long.
As a mortal with a special status, Murphy was well aware that the battle among gods in the subspace was still ongoing, Gaia taking time to meet him had already indicated the mother goddess’s attitude toward this matter.
"Can you save them?"
Like the earth’s pulse, the deep voice echoed in Murphy’s heart. It was truly a feeling of speaking with the world, heavy, majestic, not to be disregarded, but under the weighty tone, it nurtured a force akin to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
This represented Gaia’s authority and her majesty, the divine power of this Earth Mother was so strong that even the Sun God Kulkan would dread... after all, no matter how intense sunlight is, it can’t melt the earth, can it?
"Of course, I can save them."
Murphy confidently replied:
"The dwarves’ city is gone, their biggest trouble now is being besieged and annihilated by the ratmen. I can’t instantly bring them out of the dangerous place, but I can stop the ratmen from obeying that damned subspace mind.
They will gain precious respite, finding a path to escape before the army of the Wolf People and Gnolls charges.
But this requires your permission."
"They are no longer my kin."
Gaia replied:
"Their life and death have nothing to do with me."
Well, that was true, but Murphy could hear a hint of lament from it, much like the stubbornness among quarrelsome men and women unwilling to bow down, which made Murphy sigh that even divine spirits cannot escape the emotional fluctuations brought by gender.
Of course, divine spirits have no gender.
As seen in the seamless switch from male to female by the God of Wealth earlier, they did not appear to the world in this image because they had no choice.
"But I saw Lord Hadran at the last moment of his death pose, that ancient one died in the explosion holding your sacred emblem. He longed to return to your embrace, and as far as I know, not all Brass Dwarves have abandoned their faith in you."
Murphy gently advised:
"You gave them a chance at Blackflame Mountain Pass, didn’t you?
So many warriors of the Brass Dwarves willingly died in your sacred land, they made a choice, such a choice would tear apart the future of the race, but I think, as someone as benevolent as you, would not let the believers who hold expectations down.
So, I suggest you give them another chance, one last chance..."
"I have already given it, it is they who did not cherish it!"
Gaia tossed down a remark and started withdrawing her power.
The action of coming from afar just to issue a rejection had already proved her true thoughts, but Murphy also had to give some face to the stubborn mother goddess who was eloquent but loved at heart. Hence, he already had a plan in mind for what to do.
Before the mother goddess left, Murphy said:
"Please wait a moment, Gaia, I hope you can spare some time to pay attention to that seed of faith originating from Transylvania, named ’Holy Light’ during the ferocious subspace divine war.
Kulkan granted it purification with flames, Su imparted the power of war to it, Avalon promised to provide it with a symbol of healing, but it is not complete.
The Holy Light I look forward to is still missing the tough defense, which is the power to protect what is beautiful...
Guarding, that has always been your domain."
"But you are creating a ’universal god’, Vampire Murphy."
Gaia Mother Goddess whispered:
"What if it’s polluted at birth like The Master of Hunting..."
