Chapter 663: Hello, Terminator

Chapter 663: Hello, Terminator

Ye Fan, Mengyao, and Biyao had just arrived at the villa. As soon as they got out of the car, a gallant silhouette swiftly approached them. The silhouette held an exquisite handgun, playing with it in her hand, and aimed the muzzle at Ye Fan.

Her face carried a faint smile, as if she wanted to test the power of the exquisite handgun, targeting Ye Fan with it.

Ye Fan remained unmoved.

Mengyao maintained a calm demeanor as well.

Biyao couldn’t stand it and shouted, "Policewoman, what’s gotten into you? Did you get your head stuck in a door? You can’t just point a gun at people however you like!"

No need to say more; it’s evident this silhouette’s owner was Zhang Lu.

"Sigh!" Zhang Lu sighed with complex emotions, slowly putting away the gun and speaking in a peculiar tone, "I wanted to personally test the strength of the Terminator. It’s said that for those at the limit of the human body, a bullet hitting them is like a mosquito bite, not causing any danger."

"I never had the chance before, but now that there’s a present opportunity, with a human body limit expert right before me, I’m hesitant to make a move, fearing it would harm our relationship." Zhang Lu said, losing interest.

She had come to terms with the fact that Ye Fan was indeed the Terminator, but deep down, she harbored strong resentment.

"Guns aren’t toys to be used recklessly. Don’t be so impulsive in the future." advised Biyao with meaningful intent.

Then, she was taken aback and asked, "Do you know of my brother-in-law’s past identity?"

"What do you think?" Zhang Lu responded with a rhetorical question.

Ye Fan and Mengyao were also slightly surprised, then figured it out. They understood that it must have been Old Fu who informed Zhang Lu; otherwise, Zhang Lu wouldn’t have known so quickly that Ye Fan was the Terminator.

"Knowing is knowing. You would’ve found out sooner or later, so why make a fuss about it." said Biyao nonchalantly.

"That’s easy for you to say. How could you keep such a significant matter from me all along? Do you have any conscience?" Zhang Lu complained loudly.

"It’s the only way we could manage. If we had told you, given your job, how could you have helped Ye Fan keep his identity a secret? Asking you to do something against organizational principles, you’d surely refuse, and we also wouldn’t want to put you in a difficult situation. It’s understandable that you got this news from your organization, which just recently learned about it too."

Mengyao explained with good intentions, genuinely considering Zhang Lu’s dilemma.

"I understand your intention, but now I’m losing my cool. Ye Fan is the Terminator; it sounds so absurd. A dignified Terminator choosing to retire quietly and hide in this little place called Dongfang City is truly astonishing news." Zhang Lu expressed a face full of bitterness and gloom.

Her emotions were particularly complex and overwhelming now; if not forcibly suppressed, she would have lost her composure and gone mad by now.

"Since you know the truth, just accept it and don’t overthink." Mengyao advised sincerely. Given Zhang Lu’s job and Ye Fan’s identity, their future interactions might not be smooth. Zhang Lu is someone with organization and beliefs, while Ye Fan is not. If conflicts arise and aren’t resolved quickly, it could lead to endless trouble.

It’s best if in their interactions, they don’t impose on each other. Otherwise, there could be issues.

Zhang Lu naturally understood Mengyao’s advice well.

"Sigh, let’s stop talking about it. Talking too much with a work-related tone could be detrimental. It’s better to discuss friendship in private and leave everything else to fate. Why bother with the trifling details?" Zhang Lu straightforwardly said.

She collected her thoughts before saying with sorrow, "Ye Fan, Mengyao, you’ve both deceived me so badly."

"Well-intentioned lies aren’t truly lies, are they?" Mengyao laughed softly.

Zhang Lu walked up to Ye Fan, thought seriously, and then spoke sincerely.

"Ye Fan, the Terminator."

"A legend and myth in the Underworld, an idol and taboo in countless people’s hearts."

"Nicknamed the Terminator, ending everything, known for being omnipotent and invincible."

"Ended the God Organization, and world leaders privately named you above God, which is the highest praise."

"Hello, Terminator."

"Can we reintroduce ourselves?"

"I’m Zhang Lu, you already know my identity and preferences well."

"Can you introduce yourself? The renowned Terminator."

"Having the chance to meet you and become friends is my greatest fortune, please guide me in the future."

Zhang Lu articulated these words meticulously, with such seriousness and gravity.

"Stop it."

"I had my own reasons for not telling you about my identity. As I mentioned before, you understood. What do you mean by this tone now, is it a complaint?"

"Enough with that; otherwise, it might be too much."

Ye Fan responded plainly.

"Hmm, not bad, still the same tone and manner. No matter your former identity as a Terminator, you’re still Ye Fan, that’s all I need to understand. If you flaunted your Terminator status to intimidate people, I wouldn’t be qualified to be your friend." Zhang Lu said, then couldn’t help but laughed sincerely, "Heh, being friends with a Terminator, interacting with God, is truly a unique feeling. Suddenly, I feel like I’m sharing in someone’s success, basking in their glory. It’s such an honor, such a sense of achievement."

"Terminator, what do you say? Do you think I’m making sense?" Zhang Lu chatted and climbed effortlessly onto Ye Fan’s shoulder, getting chummy like sworn brothers.

"How would I know what you’re feeling." Ye Fan replied casually, "Take your hand off, and don’t call me by my past nickname in the future. What’s gone is gone, I have my own name and life now."

"Don’t be so stingy. Patting your shoulder won’t break you; are you made of mud or something? What are you afraid of? A few pats won’t hurt." Zhang Lu pretended to be aggrieved deliberately.

She knew what to say and what not to say. She quickly forgot what Ye Fan pointed out.

Ye Fan looked helpless at Zhang Lu’s behavior; he couldn’t force her off.

"Being shoulder to shoulder with you is the greatest accomplishment. Turns out, a God-like mysterious man isn’t so unreachable, but so tangible instead. I feel so proud, so honored." Zhang Lu’s arm remained on Ye Fan’s shoulder as she gazed into the sky, filled with infinite longing and sentiment.
