Chapter 1177: The Third Elder and Fourth Elder Are Moved
Led by War Bear and Fierce Tiger, the Death Warrior Squad made a name for themselves. Accompanied by the launch of a suicide attack, the Ghost Squadron, Hunter Eight, and Hunter Thirteen teams were the first to evade. They treated the Death Warrior Squad like a plague and dared not attack proactively, resorting to passive defense. Based on the treacherous terrain, they guarded against the Death Warrior Squad, causing them to halt their attack. The members of the Ghost Squadron are all strong, naturally unwilling to die under a suicide assault. Thus, temporarily avoiding the sharp confrontation was crucial.
Smith and Oliver’s two hunting teams were already few in number. They certainly didn’t want the Death Warrior Squad to wipe them out completely. Thus, actively taking evasive measures was crucial, whether for the safety of the hunting teams or to preserve the teams for Sky Net. Hence, they were quite frightened of the Death Warrior Squad.
Only Hunter Four, Hunter Five, Hunter Seven, and Hunter Ten were tasked with battling the Death Warrior Squad, actively taking on this responsibility.
On the battlefield, the situation where Sky Net held the advantage was reversed. The morale of Deceitful Fox’s side temporarily soared, and their killing intent intensified.
At Ye Fan’s location, the Third Elder and Fourth Elder suddenly appeared worried, their expressions pale.
"Didn’t expect it, truly didn’t expect it, Deceitful Fox still has such a group of fearless Death Warriors by its side. These are specially trained Death Warrior squads, useful only for completing special missions. Now, they’re engaging us directly in combat. This is bad news." The Third Elder spoke heavily, already understanding the changes occurring on the battlefield. Although not clear on the specifics, he could perceive the danger from the reported messages.
"Originally, with the six hunting teams plus the Ghost Squadron, we thought it would be easy to eliminate Deceitful Fox. Such a lineup is indeed strong. Unexpectedly, this unforeseen change occurred, these Death Warriors truly caught us off guard." The Fourth Elder was anxious, "Now our advantage amounts to nothing. Without eliminating those Death Warriors, conquering the fortress is nigh impossible. Should our people fail to withstand or our morale falters compared to the enemy, our situation will become extremely dangerous."
"Mr. Ye, what do you think we should do next?" Both Third Elder and Fourth Elder focused on Ye Fan.
"First, describe the specifics; you understand the battlefield situation better than I do right now." Ye Fan said.
He had responsibilities, but rarely intervened in others’. The internal and external communications and orders were managed by Third Elder and Fourth Elder. As Supervisors, they only allowed Ye Fan to perform tasks sanctioned by the organization, refraining him from any unauthorized actions.
In some respect, all Ye Fan needed to do was unleash his capabilities, and avoid unnecessary activities.
Therefore, when unexpected events occurred on the battlefield, Third Elder and Fourth Elder were the first to know, with Ye Fan being less informed.
"Deceitful Fox’s faction saw a large emergence of Death Warrior squads. A Ghost Squadron combat group was caught off guard, dying completely in a suicide attack by the Death Warriors carrying bombs. If they came close to our people, they triggered the bombs, causing massive losses for us."
"After several confrontations, the Ghost Squadron, Hunter Eight, and Hunter Thirteen teams hid in the dangerous locations of the fortress, ceasing their attack on the fortress due to the Death Warriors blocking their advance."
"Now, only Hunter Four, Hunter Five, Hunter Seven, and Hunter Ten are battling the Death Warrior Squad."
Third Elder reported the battlefield situation frankly, without exaggeration or embellishment.
"If this continues, our situation becomes extremely dangerous. The Death Warrior Squad poses too great a threat. We absolutely need to find a way to minimize the threat posed by the Death Warrior Squad; otherwise, our losses will be intolerably severe." Fourth Elder looked at Ye Fan, earnestly requesting, "Mr. Ye, please quickly come up with a means to counter the Death Warrior Squad."
"You treat me like a thief, guarding against me, with the timely battlefield situation unclear to me. Now, faced with unexpected changes, you hurriedly urge me to solve it. You truly think of me as a god." Ye Fan responded indifferently.
When Third Elder wasn’t present, and only Fourth Elder supervised, Ye Fan retained certain rights. Though supervised by Fourth Elder, he had some autonomy. Since Third Elder arrived, Ye Fan’s authority as a person in charge dwindled to the minimum, exerting effort only when needed, remaining ignorant at other times.
As Sky Net’s forces consolidated, strengthening their vigilance over Ye Fan by several layers.
Sky Net’s actions were understandable then, fearing that he might issue commands leading to significant losses for the hunting teams or the Ghost Squadron, losses Sky Net couldn’t afford.
To prevent Ye Fan from having such opportunities, his actions and responsibilities were heavily curtailed.
Ye Fan also understood Sky Net’s reasoning, thus remained unconcerned and unperturbed.
"Mr. Ye, we have reasons, needing to guard against you. Believe Mr. Ye understands." Third Elder continued, "Regardless, you’re our person in charge. Whether or not your title matches your role is unimportant now. The strike forces are facing trouble; we still need you to devise a viable solution."
"Mr. Ye, we can’t let the enemy continue to boast like this. We must find a way to resolve it." Fourth Elder implored.
"To resolve it is not impossible; the most direct and effective way is to exchange lives for lives. As long as enough sacrifices are made, all the Death Warriors can be killed, and by that time, all problems will resolve themselves." Ye Fan explained.
Honestly, he also didn’t expect so many Death Warriors to be by Deceitful Fox’s side, and to be so formidable, clearly well-trained and specifically groomed Death Warriors.
Ye Fan naturally delighted to see significant losses inflicted on Sky Net, but had to consider minimizing casualties for Sky Net.
Haven’t reached the point of openly opposing Sky Net, Ye Fan must still consider their interests.
Until the last moment of confronting Sky Net as an enemy, only this path can be followed.
"Is there no better way to minimize casualties?" Third Elder and Fourth Elder placed high hopes on this strategy.
