My Mother is the Villain

Chapter 25: Jealous

Chapter 25: Jealous

Why was this woman even protesting about something like this?

She clearly hadn’t accepted it, and their engagement had been forced in the first place—so why did she care, acting like a jealous lover?

Had she truly come to accept their engagement after losing to him... and actually wanted to become his wife?

People exchanged strange glances.

It seemed Victor had run into a complicated situation tonight. How would he respond? Would he really choose between the two women?

But who would he choose?

Bella Thunder—the fierce beauty, a top-tier genius, the daughter of a World Monarch.

It seemed no one could rival her status. Yet Alexandra Spencer was a Heavenly Woman, and her father was also a World Monarch.

"So, you want to be my only wife?" Victor asked.

At that question, Bella’s cheeks flushed slightly, though her expression remained firm.

"The point is, I’m not a woman who can be shared," she said.

"That’s not something you get to decide. You’re bound to me because you lost the bet—you don’t have the right to protest."

BANG!

Bella slammed the table, splitting it in two.

"Boy, all of that is nonsense. It’s already generous of me to keep my promise—but if you think you can fool around, don’t expect me to be your wife!" she snapped, rising to her feet in anger.

"If it’s nonsense, then why did you even come? If you’re here, then it’s not nonsense—you don’t see it that way either. Or... have you subconsciously changed your mind? Do you actually want me? Are you jealous seeing me engaged to another woman?" Victor replied.

Bella, who had already turned away, stopped and turned back. The tips of her ears turned red.

"I’m only here to honor my promise—and to be faithful," she said. "Because of that, I expect the same from you."

"And if not? You want to break it off?" Victor asked indifferently.

"Bastard!" She suddenly drew her spear and thrust it toward him.

Victor didn’t move at all. Paul, standing beside him, could have easily stopped it at the last moment.

But the spear didn’t even reach Victor—it halted right in front of his chest.

"What? Can’t bring yourself to do it? I heard you’ve become a barbaric woman now."

"Who called me barbaric?" Bella’s expression tightened with irritation.

"Everyone says so," Victor replied, making her eyes tremble.

"So you insist on fooling around..." she muttered, returning to the original topic as she withdrew her spear.

Victor couldn’t be bothered to respond anymore.

He was no different from anyone else—he saw a Heavenly Woman as something more valuable. What he might gain from one using the Yin-Yang Mirror could surpass any high-tier talent.

"Fine. Since you can’t choose, I’ll just kill that woman myself." Bella turned, leapt onto her eagle, and glared at Victor with blazing fury.

The eagle immediately soared into the sky.

Kill that woman?

That might be just as difficult as killing Victor, who was protected by his mother.

Alexandra Spencer—the daughter of a World Monarch from the previous era.

That meant her father’s followers, generals, and disciples were still alive.

Not to mention she belonged to the Holy Light Sect, a truly powerful sect on the Ancient Human Continent.

And with the last World Monarch, the Three Sword Monarch, they had produced five World Monarchs throughout their history.

Victor drew even more attention.

Even his grandfather gave him a strange look, but Victor maintained a calm expression as if nothing had happened.

He didn’t wait for the banquet to end. After informing his grandfather that he wanted to rest, he headed back.

As he stepped toward his castle, the mayor suddenly pushed his daughter toward him, clearly forcing her to follow.

Victor noticed something off.

The woman seemed heavily intoxicated. Her face and neck were flushed red.

Her eyes looked as if they were drowning in sensation, yet there was still a trace of determination within them, resisting.

Who knew what kind of drug the mayor had slipped into her drink? The wine at the banquet alone shouldn’t have been enough to affect someone of her cultivation like this.

Everyone watched Victor and Ella, waiting to see whether he would pull her along.

If he didn’t, she likely wouldn’t follow.

"Y-Young Master... can you give me some time?" she said.

Victor’s gaze turned strange.

Time?

Was she looking for a chance to escape—or had she already made a decision, just not ready yet?

The mayor flushed red with anger, clearly displeased that his daughter was still resisting.

"Fine. Take your time if you want," Victor suddenly nodded, shocking everyone even more.

Ella’s mouth fell open at his response. She had only asked for a little time before going with him, yet he had given her the freedom to think.

Did that mean he wasn’t forcing her at all—and had simply been going along with things before?

Then why hadn’t he said so earlier?

Of course, for Ella, it wasn’t just about whether Victor was forcing her or not. Even if Victor didn’t, her father certainly did.

The man would do anything to bring their clan closer to the Russell Clan—or more precisely, to Margaret Russell.

In truth, there were indeed many benefits for their clan in this relationship.

Inside the castle, Victor met Emma.

She was alone in the living room, not attending the banquet since her strength was too high for her to serve as a mere attendant.

Of course, she knew everything that had happened outside.

"Young Master, are you alright?" she asked as she poured wine into his cup.

"What’s wrong?" Victor asked, puzzled.

"Well... I thought it might hurt, what your concubine did. How dare she betray you like that."

Victor, "..."

He didn’t quite know how to respond to Emma’s words.

"Maybe I would feel hurt... if it were you who did it," Victor said with a grin, showing his teeth.

Emma nearly staggered, completely caught off guard.

Was he... teasing her?

Victor usually showed no interest in her—something that both disappointed and relieved her, since she still wanted to remain a professional maid.

But those words...

For some reason, they made her heart flutter.

The desires of the mind and the desires of the heart were often very different.

If Victor were truly interested in her, her heart would surely be overjoyed.

Victor finished a cup of wine before standing up.

"I’m heading to my room. Tonight, I want to sleep."

With that, he walked up the stairs toward his room.

In truth, he had long stopped needing sleep.

Ever since escaping that narrow, dark prison, he had become a Sage with three Will Powers.

His body and mind were always in peak condition.

Even without sleep, he would be fine.

But still—

He wanted to feel that sensation... of completely losing consciousness, of his body going still as he drifted into sleep.

He lay down on the bed, closed his eyes, halted the flow of spiritual energy—

And before long, he fell into a deep slumber.
