My Mate Has Two Wolves

Chapter 521

Chapter 521

Leo's car pulled up in front of Moira's house. Tasha sat smugly in the passenger seat, savoring the last few seconds of comfort.

"Could you check if she's there for me?" Leo said coolly, without getting out of the car.

Tasha snapped back to reality, forcing a sweet smile. "Sure, wait here!"

As she stepped out, neighbors cast curious glances her way.

Tasha's sense of pride swelled. She adjusted her hair and sashayed into her house.

She knew full well Sunny wasn't there.

But to keep up appearances, she wandered through the house, asked a servant, and then returned to report to Leo, "She's not here, I'm afraid."

No sooner had she finished than Leo's sports car sped off like a gust of wind.

Tasha stood rooted to the spot, stunned.

Leo's haste made her seethe with frustration.

What was so special about Sunny that Leo cared so much? She stamped her foot in rage.

Leo's mood had turned chaotic. If Sunny wasn't at Moira's residence, she must be at her new home.

He felt foolish for clinging to a slim hope— escorting Tasha home in the off chance of seeing Sunny.

It was sheer desperation, uncharacteristic of him.

Shaking off the sentiment, he drove straight to the packhouse.

He just drove straight to the wolves' villa.

Without Sunny, his own home felt empty.

He decided to spend the next few days with his grandparents and mother.

He knew he'd been reckless in his youth, leaving gaps he now wished to fill by spending quality time with his mother.

Upon entering the living room, Abigail greeted Leo with surprise. "What brings you here? You didn't call ahead!" she said, moving to meet him.

Leo smiled at his mother. "Just got off work, thought I'd catch dinner here."

"Uncle Leo's here too," Hedwig approached with a jelly in hand, beaming at him.

Seeing the cherubic child, Leo's mood lifted.

He squatted down and pinched her cheek. "You're such a little foodie!"

Hedwig rolled her eyes. "Why does everyone say that? I didn't eat that much!"

Leo chuckled at her playful expression.

He'd never realized how delightful children could be. Watching his niece and nephew, he was struck by their innocence—a stark contrast to his own world.

Would his own child one day bring him such joy?

The thought shifted to Sunny, and his heart ached.

Catherine guided Patricia downstairs step by step. Patricia had fallen ill after learning about Olivia's role in her eldest son's death. She looked frail and aged overnight.

Seeing Leo, Patricia humphed. Leo, filled with guilt, quickly stepped forward to support her.

"Let me help," Leo said softly to Catherine, who released Patricia's arm.

"Have you stopped contacting her?" Patricia sternly asked.

"I haven't," Leo replied firmly.

"Good. I can't bear to disappoint your grandmother further. She's too fragile for more upheaval. Fortunately, your grandfather is still unaware, or it would be catastrophic," Patricia's voice trailed off.

Emerson was on the mend now. But he was still fragile. One wrong move, and he could take a turn for the worse. That'd be a real shame for all of us.

Leo's heart skipped a beat, and his face paled.

"Granny, I promise I won't contact her again. Please, take care of yourselves."

"Good, I know you're a good boy. Though you worried me as a child, you've grown into a considerate young man who understands my needs," Patricia said, softening despite her lingering anger.

"Where's Blake? Why isn't he back yet?" Leo quickly changed the subject.

"Called to say he won't join us for dinner. Go ahead without him," Catherine replied.

"I'll go upstairs and get Noah," Abigail announced, hurrying upstairs to compose herself.

She hated seeing Leo reprimanded like this.

But she couldn't say a word and just left to calm herself down.

Catherine saw that the family was down and sighed.

Things had been rough lately, and it seemed like peace was always out of reach. This constant turmoil was really worrying.
