Chapter 467
Chapter 467
"Ah?" The man raised a brow, his expression inscrutable as he stared at her. "So, you're one of the fans he's charmed?"
"No, no, no misunderstandings! I simply admire his acting. It's not the same thing!" Sunny quickly backpedaled, sensing a tinge of sourness in his tone.
"I can't poach him," Leo said, his voice turning cold though he didn't doubt her feelings for Harley.
"Why not? I heard Nebula is already trying to recruit him." Sunny whispered curiously.
"Because it's Harley. Do you know who he is?" A flicker of displeasure crossed Leo's eyes.
"Who? You two know each other? Have some history?" Sunny's expression grew more astonished.
Leo nodded. "He's the childhood friend of Catherine and once a rival for Blake's affection. How could I bring Blake's rival into the company and promote him to stardom? Blake would beat me to a pulp."
"Ah..." Sunny was at a loss, recalling Catherine's sorrowful expression when they'd discussed Harley.
"What's with the 'ah'? You're not actually interested in him, are you?" Leo lightly tapped her head as a warning.
"Of course not! Being with you is more than enough for me." Sunny suppressed the urge to share today's dressing-room incident.
"Alright, time to rest," Leo said, steering the conversation away from other men.
Sunny dropped the topic.
That night marked Blake and Catherine's wedding night. The two children had gone to bed early, leaving the villa to the couple's private moments.
In the living room, Blake and Catherine sat on the sofa. Though silent, the atmosphere was unusually warm.
"It's getting late. We should head to bed," the man said, holding her slender wrist. Noticing her listless state, he gently squeezed it.
Catherine nodded and rose to go to the bathroom.
Shortly after, Blake followed.
"Don't wash up yet," Catherine caught sight of him taking off his turtleneck, revealing his strong chest, and her breath hitched.
"I can't wait," Blake brazenly tossed the sweater into a basket beside him, wrapped his arms around her from behind, and kissed her deeply.
The next morning, Leo took Sunny and two assistants to the mall for shopping.
To show sincerity, Leo bought plenty of things Moira would like. Sunny tried to hold him back for a long time—he was buying too much.
Though Sunny doted on her mom, she also worried about his expense.
Moira received a call early in the morning, informing her that her daughter would bring her boyfriend home for lunch. She immediately had the servants start preparations.
Upon hearing that Leo was coming, Eben felt conflicted. On one hand, he wanted to ingratiate himself with the Royal Pack. On the other hand, he disliked Sunny.
Moreover, Leo was now Sunny's boyfriend, and just the other day, his daughter Tasha had confessed her feelings for Leo to him.
The situation was incredibly awkward.
Sister having a crush on her brother-in-law?
Too chaotic. Eben wished Sunny would vanish, leaving Tasha and Leo together.
But clearly, his wish wouldn't come true.
Tasha, though signed to Leo's company, hadn't had the chance to meet him in person.
This morning, upon hearing the boss was coming for lunch, she canceled her plan to "build rapport" at the office and decided to stay.
She sat in front of the vanity for a solid hour, finally achieving a flawless, sweet-and-delicate makeup look, even adjusting the curve of her eyelashes.
"I truly have the makings of a movie star!" she cooed to her mirror image, inching closer to ensure there wasn't a single flaw, then nodded in satisfaction.
Tasha was a classic beauty with impeccable features and figure, though her aura lacked grandeur.
She tried on more than ten outfits, dissatisfied with each one, and finally called Eben in.
"Dad, does this dress look good?" Tasha pouted.
In Eben's eyes, his daughter was the fairest, and he promptly nodded. "Beautiful, stunning!"
"Your taste is terrible! This color's too rustic!" Tasha frowned and slipped into a fashionable mini-skirt. "This one doesn't work either—it doesn't show off my figure!"
Eben watched his daughter's restlessness over her outfit, his heart sinking—she was clearly head over heels for Leo, to the point of obsession.
What was to become of her future?
Tasha eventually settled on a form-fitting knee-length dress with side slits that revealed her fair legs.
She twirled in front of the mirror twice, then sat down contentedly.
"What time is it? Why aren't they here yet?" She kept checking her phone restlessly. Moira entered with a fruit platter and asked, "Waiting for a friend?"
Tasha shot her stepmother a wary glance. "Yeah, I had plans, but they might not come through."
"Will you stay for lunch when Sunny comes back?" Moira maintained her patience with her stepdaughter.
"Sure." Tasha rolled her eyes and continued staring at her phone.
Sunny deliberately waited until eleven to arrive with Leo.
This was a three-story villa in an ordinary residential area, with a small front yard that could only park two cars. Though it paled in comparison to the Royal Pack's manor, it was still a sign of wealth.
Leo and Sunny arrived in a sleek black sedan—seemingly understated, yet actually a limited-edition, high-end model.
As the car pulled into the yard, everyone was waiting at the door, including Eben—though his heart was filled with mixed feelings.
But at the thought of the Royal Pack's influence, a single word from them could benefit his company immensely, and he quickly put on a warm smile.
The couple stepped out of the car and headed for the hall. Eben hurried forward to greet them. "Sunny, this must be the second prince of the Royal Pack. Long-time admirer, delighted to finally meet you."
