Chapter 422
Chapter 422
Sunny's eyes were filled with sorrow. She felt guilty toward her mom, knowing she no longer had a place in the Eben family.
Gellman wasn't surprised and sighed, "I think it's better for you to leave this family early. It can save me from my uncle's constant attempts to introduce you to boyfriends for business marriages."
Sunny's eyes widened, "How do you know?"
"He mentioned it when he was drinking at my place yesterday. He said he would introduce you to some clients' sons," Gellman said, his face turning grim.
Sunny's face turned cold.
She couldn't believe Eben was still scheming against her. It was disgusting.
"I'll never see him again. Let's see how he can set me up with men!" Sunny said with a cold smile.
Gellman nodded, his eyes darkening.
A private plane sat at the International Airport. A group of people in four cars headed for a seven-star hotel.
In the car, Catherine, tired from the long flight, dozed off on Blake's shoulder.
Blake, though weary, didn't sleep. He was always alert, a habit since he took over the company.
Seeing Catherine's head nodding, he gently steadied it, letting her sleep soundly.
Outside, it was freezing, but inside Blake's arms, Catherine felt warm and smiled in her sleep.
At the hotel entrance, Blake's assistant quickly opened the car door. Seeing Catherine asleep, he hesitated and asked, "Should I wake up Mrs. Chavez?"
"No." Blake adjusted her position, then stepped out and carried her into the hotel.
In the luxurious presidential suite, Blake was about to put Catherine to bed when she woke up.
Seeing Blake holding her close to the bed, Catherine, confused, asked, "What are you doing?"
She was confused.
Blake smiled, straightened up, and said in a deep voice, "Nothing, just letting you sleep more."
Catherine realized she was in a hotel room, blushing, understanding Blake had carried her up.
"Why didn't you wake me? It must have been tiring to carry me upstairs!"
Catherine worried she had become heavy. Blake raised an eyebrow, "Are you questioning my strength?"
"Of course not, I just don't want to tire you out," Catherine quickly explained, knowing Blake hated doubts.
Blake smirked, "If anything tires me, it's every night making you happy," he said, winking and unbuttoning his suit.
Catherine shuddered. This man was quick to lay the blame on her.
"Since it's so tiring, let's set a rule—once a month. You'll be relaxed, and I'll be free!" Catherine suggested, teasing him by stretching the time out.
"One month?" Blake's face fell. He sounded dangerously upset. "Are you challenging me?"
Seeing him angry, Catherine was secretly delighted. It was exactly the reaction she wanted.
"No, I'm just concerned about you. You're so busy. You should save your energy for work," Catherine teased.
Blake had already taken off his suit jacket, letting it hang from his fingers. After listening to her, he flicked his fingers and dropped the jacket on the sofa. Then, with long, strong strides, he walked over to her.
Catherine was leaning on the bed, propped up by her hands, with a mischievous look on her face.
The moment she saw him approaching, she sensed danger and scrambled to the other side of the bed like she was escaping. She continued to look at him with raised eyebrows. Sure enough, the first thing Blake did was stretch out his long arm to grab her. Unexpectedly, he grabbed nothing but air. This woman slipped away faster than a rabbit.
"If I catch you, you'll be in trouble tonight!" The man was immediately intrigued by the challenge.
Catherine's face fell. She couldn't believe it.
So, she made what seemed like the wisest decision and apologized sincerely. "Blake, I was just joking. You know that, right?"
"So?" The man, seeing her give in, had a hint of satisfaction on his face.
