Third Person's POV

Eda froze. She had thought that once Benjamin knew she was someone who feared marriage and children, he would be disappointed in her. But instead, he said he didn't regret it.

"You don't have to comfort me. You can tell me the truth. I have a strong mind. I can handle it," Eda said, thinking he was just saying nice things to make her feel better.

But this time, Benjamin looked straight into her eyes, speaking slowly and seriously, "I really don't regret it, Eda. I love you, and I support whatever choice you make."

"But your family will definitely want us to have kids in the future. I'm really under a lot of pressure now," Eda said. She looked happy but also more worried.

"My brother and his mate are also planning to start a family and have kids. In our future life together, I want to respect your feelings more," Benjamin said with a smile on his handsome face, as if this wasn't something to worry about.

Eda was stunned again. She didn't expect Benjamin to always have words to comfort her.

"Are you really not regretting it?" Eda blinked, finding it hard to believe that someone would truly accept her imperfections.

"Really, I'm not lying!" Benjamin didn't know what else to say to make her believe him.

Suddenly, Eda threw herself into his arms, holding him tightly and burying her face in his chest. Her voice was a little shaky as she said, "Benjamin, if I really get pregnant this time, can I... can I not have the baby?"

Benjamin shuddered all over. He lowered his eyes and looked at the woman in his arms.

"Okay," he finally said after a long while. His voice was right above Eda's head.

Just as Benjamin finished speaking, they heard a nurse calling Eda's name.

Eda quickly ran over, grabbed the paper, and took just one look. Her face turned pale.

Benjamin walked over, his steps heavy. He glanced at the result on the paper, and his expression froze.

It said she was in the early stages of pregnancy.

"I'm really pregnant," Eda whispered to herself. Then she looked up at Benjamin, "What do we do? What should we do?"

Benjamin's mind was in chaos. He had just painfully agreed to her request, and now saying it again felt like a thousand knives in his heart.

"Benjamin, let's calm down first," Eda said, then stuffed the paper into her purse and walked away quickly, without waiting for Benjamin to say anything. She left the hospital like she was running away.

Benjamin watched her leave, feeling dazed.

Eda didn't even go to the doctor to get a proper check-up. But the result was clear—she was pregnant.

Benjamin drove back to the company in a daze. He went to Cedrick's office, sat on the sofa, and rested his forehead in his hands, not saying a word.

Cedrick was sitting at his desk, busy with work. He waited for his brother to speak first, but after a few minutes, Benjamin still hadn't said anything.

"What's going on?" Cedrick finally asked.

"She's pregnant," Benjamin said. Cedrick's expression changed.

"You mean Eda is pregnant?" Cedrick wanted to make sure.

"Yes, we're having a baby," Benjamin nodded.

Cedrick put down his pen, walked over to him, and stood above his sad-looking brother with his arms crossed. "You're having a baby, so why aren't you happy? Shouldn't you be celebrating?"

"She doesn't want the baby," Benjamin's next words changed Cedrick's expression too.

Cedrick looked surprised. "Eda doesn't want the baby? Why? Babies are so cute!"

"I don't know. She just doesn't. I asked Howard before. He said she's always been afraid of having kids and getting married. He told me to be prepared. Now, I thought I was ready, but when I heard she's pregnant and we're going to have a baby, but we can't let this baby come into the world, my heart hurts so much. Cedrick, what should I do?"

Benjamin's life had never required him to make choices before.

His big brother and parents had always made decisions for him, and his life had been perfect.

But now, with Eda, he finally had to make his own decisions and found it so hard.

Cedrick's face darkened as he sat beside Benjamin and patted his shoulder. "Why don't you have another serious talk with Eda about this and tell her how you feel? Maybe she'll change her mind."

"Don't you know her? Once she's made up her mind, it's really hard to change," Benjamin said with a bitter smile. He was troubled because he knew her so well.

"Then let Howard talk to her, or maybe her mom could persuade her. After all, a baby is a life. How can we just not want it?" Cedrick was much more firm than Benjamin. Because if Jessica got pregnant, he would one hundred percent support her having the baby, and he would swear to take care of her and the baby for the rest of his life.
