My Mate Has Two Wolves

Chapter 373

Chapter 373

Third Person's POV

Catherine thought for a moment and replied, "It's like the handsome guys you see in cartoons."

"Okay! Can you draw it for me now, Mommy?" Hedwig was a girl of action. Once she got an idea, she had to see it through. It was unclear who she had inherited this trait from.

Catherine picked up a blank sheet of paper and a pencil, glancing helplessly at the man beside her, who was smirking. He really knew how to give her extra work.

Blake leaned down, his lips brushing her ear as he whispered, "Are you really going to draw me?"

"Mm-hmm, I'll draw a picture of you taking a shower," Catherine said, her smile tinged with mischief.

Blake knew she was teasing him. He raised an eyebrow slightly. "Sure, but if you forget how I look, I can give you a live demonstration tonight."

Catherine's face flushed instantly. She glared at him, her eyes narrowing.

Meanwhile, Noah, who was practicing his writing nearby, overheard their conversation and chimed in, "Daddy, Mommy, can you not talk about things that aren't suitable for kids?"

They froze for a moment, having almost forgotten that Noah's intelligence had been skyrocketing lately. He was now able to understand these kinds of topics all too well.

"Uh, Noah, don't overthink it. What Daddy and I were talking about isn't what you think," Catherine said awkwardly, trying to salvage the situation.

Noah's lips curled into a smirk. "I get it. You're just showing off your love for each other."

Blake's face flashed with a hint of amusement. He pinched his son's cheek playfully. "Little guy, you're too young to be thinking about these things!"

Noah, however, met Blake's gaze with a look of indifference.

Catherine quickly shot Blake a meaningful glance, and he took the hint, leaving the room.

Hedwig propped her chin on her hand, staring at the blank paper in front of Catherine. "Mommy, hurry up and draw! I want to see a picture of Daddy taking a shower."

Catherine's lips twitched. She had only been joking earlier, but now her daughter was taking it seriously.

Noah chuckled beside her.

Catherine immediately turned to her son with a stern expression. "Don't laugh. If you don't finish your writing practice today, no dinner for you."

"Mommy, you're so scary!" Noah complained, clearly unhappy.

"You should've known that by now!" Catherine retorted. She could only play the role of the strict parent in front of her children, but she had to admit, it felt pretty good.

Under Hedwig's watchful gaze, Catherine began to sketch.

As a designer, drawing a man was no big deal for her.

"Mommy, Daddy's eyes aren't that small!" Hedwig pointed out immediately.

"Your daddy is squinting," Catherine explained.

"And Daddy's nose isn't that flat!"

"He just got punched, so it might be a little flat," Catherine continued to make up excuses.

Hedwig fell silent, pouting with dissatisfaction.

Catherine wasn't really focusing on the drawing. Her mind was preoccupied with what was happening upstairs.

When Blake reached the third floor, he could hear Richard's voice.

Richard spoke with a tone of remorse, sounding genuinely sincere.

'Hypocrite,' Blake thought coldly.

It was precisely this kind of fake sincerity that had led his father to fall into Richard's trap all those years ago.

Blake pushed the door open and saw Richard sitting in a chair. Beside him, Patricia's eyes were red, likely from crying after not seeing her youngest son for so long.

Emerson also looked more lively than usual. Blake knew that Emerson still cared deeply for Richard.

Emerson was too kind-hearted, always trying to make everything work out. It was truly a testament to his good nature.

"Richard, you're back!" Blake feigned surprise and smiled at Richard.

Patricia nodded. "Yes, he just showed up without any warning."

Richard stood up and smiled at Blake. "Blake, I came back to see you all."

Blake and Richard stood face to face, their smiles plastered on their faces, but their eyes were icy cold. Blake, being younger, couldn't hide his emotions as well as Richard, who had experienced life's ups and downs and had mastered the art of concealing his feelings. When Richard said he had come back to see "you all," Blake felt as if a cold arrow had pierced his heart. He knew that "you all" didn't include Grandpa and Grandma—it referred to his woman and his children.

"Blake, you two should talk properly. Don't argue. I'll go downstairs and check on dinner," Patricia said, worried that old grievances might resurface and lead to conflict.

Richard, however, put on a look of remorse. "Blake, I want to apologize for what happened back then. I was wrong, and I hope you can forgive me."

Blake replied calmly, "Since you're sincerely apologizing, I won't hold a grudge. Besides, you've already spent five years in prison. I'm sure those years weren't easy. Let's not bring up the past anymore."
