Chapter 370
Chapter 370
Third Person's POV
"I found out not long ago. Before that, I also asked the doctor about Grandpa's condition every day, and he always told me Grandpa was doing well," Blake explained, his voice strained with grief.
"That quack! How dare he lie to us? Does he think we're fools? He should be ashamed of himself!" Leo shouted, his anger boiling over.
"Yelling at him won't help. Grandpa and Grandma made this decision together," Blake said calmly.
"Grandpa is so stubborn. How could he keep something like this from us? Does he want us to feel guilty for the rest of our lives?" Leo's anger shifted to his grandfather.
"Grandpa just doesn't want us to grieve for him. I think any parent would want to spare their children that pain," Blake said.
Leo realized there was no one left to blame. He sighed, his eyes filled with despair. "Then what can we do now? Blake, tell me."
Blake looked at him steadily, then sighed. "At least, while Grandpa is still with us, let's not do anything that would upset him."
"What can we do to avoid upsetting him? Let Richard go free?" Leo's mind was a mess, and he couldn't focus. He just wanted to vent his anger.
"I've decided to get engaged to Catherine. We'll hold the engagement ceremony in three days and get married by the end of the month," Blake announced.
"Three days? That's so soon. Will there be enough time to prepare?" Leo was momentarily stunned, then frowned, thinking the timeline was too tight.
"It's enough. I'll make sure it's as grand as possible, even if some details aren't perfect. I just want Grandpa to be happy and at peace," Blake said, his voice firm.
"Alright. Since I don't have much to do these days, I'll help you prepare the engagement ceremony. Catherine deserves the best," Leo said, wanting to contribute.
Blake smiled faintly. "No need. I've already asked my assistant to handle it."
"But I want to help," Leo insisted, then quickly added, "Don't misunderstand. I don't have any lingering feelings for Catherine. I just want to help make your engagement ceremony perfect."
Blake chuckled at Leo's flustered expression. "I know. You don't have to explain. I can see how much you care about Sunny."
"Sunny? I don't want to talk about her right now," Leo said, his face darkening with anger. Sunny's betrayal had deeply hurt him.
Blake's voice softened. "Don't hold it against her. She had her reasons. From the recording, it's clear she was torn between family and justice. She wasn't trying to protect Olivia from punishment."
"I don't care about her reasons. She lied to me," Leo said through gritted teeth.
"If you hate her so much, why did you fight for her last night?" Blake asked, amused by Leo's stubbornness.
"That's because... I don't like others touching what's mine, even if I don't want it anymore," Leo said, grasping for an excuse.
"Alright, I won't push you. This is your relationship, and you have to figure it out yourself," Blake said, deciding to drop the subject.
"Blake, are we really not going to expose Richard before Grandpa passes? What if he tries something even worse? He's after your position, and you need to be careful," Leo said, his frustration bubbling over.
"Of course, I'm always on guard. Don't worry, I won't let my guard down," Blake said, his eyes hardening.
"How much time does Grandpa have left? A year?" Leo asked, his voice trembling like a scared child.
"I hope it's a year, but the situation isn't optimistic. It could be just a few months, or..." Blake trailed off, unable to finish the sentence.
Leo froze, his face filled with dread. "Is it really that soon? If Richard finds out, will he back off? Does he even feel any guilt for what he's done? Does he have a conscience?"
