My Mate Has Two Wolves

Chapter 367

Chapter 367

Third Person's POV

At that moment, Sunny's smile had vanished, as if she had been abandoned by the entire world. The hurt and grievance she had suffered were evident to Moira. The words Leo had spoken in front of the camera were truly devastating.

Once, their love had been passionate and fearless, disregarding the opinions and evaluations of others. Now, the abandonment was decisive and ruthless, without any mercy. For a young girl who had not experienced major setbacks, being suddenly forced to break up was something no one could accept.

"I'll be fine." Sunny whispered.

"Why don't you move back home? I'll only feel relieved if I can see you," Moira suggested.

Sunny shook her head quickly, "No, I won't move back!"

Upon hearing this, Moira immediately said, "Is it still about what your stepfather mentioned last time? Don't worry, if he dares to marry you off to someone else, I'll divorce him."

Sunny shuddered at the thought of the conditions her stepfather had discussed with her previously.

"Mom, forget it. Don't argue with him because of me. Without me, you and he can still live happily. He provides for the family, and you still need him," Sunny knew her mother wouldn't dare to divorce him. Her younger brother was still young, and she needed that man to support them financially. Therefore, she decided not to put Moira in a difficult position.

Moira sighed, "It's all my fault. I'm useless and can't protect you."

"Mom, you've done enough!" Sunny comforted her.

Moira hung her head, sulking. She wasn't dissatisfied with her current life, but there were many things she could only think about and not act on, such as bringing Sunny back home to live.

"Alright, Sunny, I'll leave first. If you need anything, I'll bring it to you!" Moira knew she wouldn't go out for a while because many people were waiting to see her downfall.

"Okay, I will." After seeing her mother off, Sunny sat back down at the table, picked up her fork, and took a bite of her favorite dish, but somehow, it didn't taste as good as before.

Sunny turned on the TV, and sure enough, the news was flooded with stories about her and Leo.

It seemed there was no more attractive news than this.

Just as Sunny was planning to continue hiding and not going out, she suddenly heard someone knocking on her door, which startled her. Who could possibly know she lived here?

Oh, wait, many people did know.

Sunny covered her ears, not intending to respond to the knocking.

Unfortunately, the person outside was very persistent, knocking again and again without stopping.

Sunny's mood had been terrible lately, and her temper had worsened. Being continuously disturbed, she became irritable and walked to the door, peering through the peephole.

She saw a familiar face—her college classmate Melissa Moretti.

In the same class, Sunny knew Melissa had also entered the entertainment industry. However, she had heard that Melissa had a high starting point and landed a great job right after graduation.

Sunny wasn't a gossip, so she hadn't inquired about the specifics of Melissa's career. Now that Melissa was knocking on her door, it was likely to take advantage of her recent breakup with Leo to get some scoops.

"Sunny, it's me, it's Melissa. I know you're home. Can you open the door? I promise, I'm the only one here. There are no other reporters. Don't be afraid. I'm not here to hurt you!" Melissa spoke loudly outside, trying to convey her good intentions.

Sunny knew that people in her line of work were very persistent and wouldn't give up until they achieved their goal.

So, she opened the door, and there was indeed Melissa standing outside, holding a large basket of fruit.

"Sunny, can I come in?" Melissa immediately asked with a smile.

Sunny nodded and let her in.

Melissa placed the fruit on the coffee table, turned around, and looked at Sunny with a surprised expression.

It was then that Sunny realized she was wearing a loose nightgown, her hair was a mess, and she wasn't wearing any makeup. She must have looked very down and out.

"Why are you here?" Sunny asked her.

Melissa immediately handed over her business card, speaking in a gentle and sincere tone, "Sunny, I see you haven't been doing well lately. How about considering a change of scenery and joining our company? I'm a talent agent now. If you're willing, I'll definitely help you shine and become a star!"

"You're a talent agent now!" Sunny's expression froze slightly. She was not expecting that Melissa had become an agent.

"Yes, surprised? Sunny, we used to be good friends. You have to trust me. I want to invite you to join us," Melissa said earnestly.

Sunny bit her lip and shook her head, "I'm not in the mood for work lately. Thank you for your kind offer."

"Don't be like that. As friends, seeing you like this makes me feel bad too. You used to be so cheerful and optimistic. Honestly, when I saw the news of your romance with Leo, I was really surprised. But it also shows that you have the potential to be a star. Even Leo acknowledged you," Melissa quickly said nice things to win her over.
