My Mate Has Two Wolves

Chapter 364

Chapter 364

Third Person's POV

Even if Dowen was a bit slow on the uptake, hearing Blake's words made him pause for a moment. Then, with a knowing smile, he said, "Alright, Mr. Chavez. I'll go rest now. Call me if you need anything."

"Mm," Blake nodded, dismissing Dowen before turning his attention back to Catherine, who was busy cooking.

The spacious kitchen was soon filled with the rich aroma of sizzling beef and boiling pasta. Blake hadn't felt particularly hungry earlier, but now, the smell made his stomach growl painfully.

Catherine glanced at him, noticing his intense gaze. She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, feeling slightly self-conscious. "It'll be ready soon. Just wait a little longer."

"Catherine," Blake said suddenly, his voice low and serious, "from now on, you're only allowed to cook for me. No other men. Understand?"

Catherine froze, the spatula in her hand hovering mid-air. She looked at him, puzzled. "What's gotten into you?"

"Just promise me," Blake insisted, his mind swirling with the thought of her cooking for someone else. The idea alone made him irrationally angry.

Catherine couldn't help but laugh. "Are you so hungry that you've lost your mind? Why are you saying such things out of the blue?"

Blake stepped closer, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind.

His lips brushed against her hair as he murmured, "Maybe I have lost my mind. But I need you to promise me, or I won't be able to eat."

Catherine sighed, amused yet exasperated. She was no stranger to Blake's possessive tendencies. To outsiders, he was the picture of maturity and composure, but only she knew how childish he could be at times.

"Alright, I promise. Now, eat your pasta," she said, her tone gentle and indulgent, as if she were soothing one of the children.

"Catherine, you're the best," Blake said, nuzzling her neck playfully.

His warm breath tickled her skin, sending shivers down her spine. She squirmed, trying to push him away.

"Stop it! I'm trying to cook here."

But Blake wasn't having it. He tightened his hold, his lips trailing along her neck.

Just as the two were lost in their own world, a voice interrupted them.

Patricia, dressed in a thick nightgown with her hands in her pockets, looked at them with a strange expression.

"Ahem."

They froze, turning to see Patricia standing at the kitchen doorway, her arms crossed and an eyebrow raised.

Catherine nearly dropped the spatula in her hand, her face turning bright red. Blake, on the other hand, cleared his throat and straightened up, trying to maintain his composure.

"What are you two doing here so late? Keep it appropriate," Patricia said, though her tone was more amused than scolding.

"Grandma, Catherine's making me some late-night food," Blake explained quickly.

Patricia glanced at the pot of boiling pasta and the freshly cooked beef on the side. "You haven't eaten yet? What were you doing earlier?"

"Just some business with a friend," Blake replied vaguely.

Patricia studied him for a moment before nodding. "Alright, eat up. Don't stay up too late."

With that, she turned and left, leaving Catherine and Blake in awkward silence.

Catherine buried her face in her hands. "She must think we're up to no good."

Blake chuckled, pulling her into a hug. "Don't worry. She won't think too much of it."

Catherine sighed, finishing up the pasta and serving it to Blake. The dish looked and smelled delicious, a testament to her skill in the kitchen.

"Want some?" Blake asked, holding out a forkful.

"No, I'm on a diet," Catherine said with a smile.

Blake raised an eyebrow. "You? Dieting? You've already lost weight recently."

"Have I?"

"Yes, especially in certain areas," Blake teased, his eyes glinting mischievously.

Catherine glared at him, her cheeks flushing. "Are you saying I'm too small now?"

Blake laughed, enjoying her reaction. "Maybe we should get a nutritionist to help you… improve."

[$]

"Blake!" Catherine snapped, her face burning. She had made him a meal out of kindness, and now he was mocking her?

Blake quickly backtracked, his laughter softening. "I'm just joking. You're perfect as you are. Honestly, when I first saw you, I thought the kids would never go hungry."

Catherine's face turned even redder.

[$]

"I'm going to bed!" she declared, fleeing the kitchen before Blake could embarrass her further.

Watching her retreating figure, Blake couldn't help but smile. He sat down and dug into the pasta, savoring every bite.
