Chapter 354
Chapter 354
Third Person's POV
Sunny couldn't fathom his thoughts and let it go. They drove to the company.
The employees at the company regarded Sunny as the future boss lady.
Previously, they might have ignored her, but now, everyone was vying to get close to her and become familiar.
Changes in status and identity often lead to starkly different attitudes from others. As an important person by Leo's side, Sunny naturally received special treatment and was treated differently by everyone. Everyone wanted to maintain a good relationship with her in the future to gain some benefits or avoid unnecessary trouble.
Sunny knew that all of this was the special treatment Leo had given her, so she didn't dare to be too complacent.
In reality, Sunny had also made quite a few enemies at the company. Female artists who had admired Leo before were now cursing her behind her back.
These women, driven by unrequited love, resorted to various underhanded tactics to trip Sunny up.
The struggles between women have always been dramatic. Sunny could handle overt attacks, but the hidden schemes were unpredictable and unavoidable.
As a result, she was often marginalized.
For example, at events, everyone around her could chat together, but no one would talk to her.
Consequently, the uninformed media labeled her with poor interpersonal relationships, aloofness, and eccentricity.
She was prone to negative publicity and had no way to explain each accusation, so she could only endure these baseless criticisms in silence.
Sunny sat on the sofa in Leo's office when her phone suddenly rang.
Her expression tensed, and at the same time, she noticed Leo's face darken instantly.
With the werewolf's keen perception, Leo sensed that this call might not be ordinary and could bring some trouble or affect the relationship between him and Sunny, so his face turned gloomy in a flash.
"It's for you. Come and answer it," Leo tapped his fingers on the desktop.
Sunny had to put on a brave face and walked over, seeing the caller ID was her mother.
"Put it on speaker," Leo commanded, narrowing his deep eyes.
Sunny pressed the speaker button and immediately heard her mother's anxious voice, "Sunny, Olivia hasn't been answering her phone lately. Do you know what's going on?"
"Mom, I'm not sure either. I was just about to look for her," Sunny glanced at Leo furtively and replied worriedly. She felt a bit uneasy, not knowing the situation with her aunt and also feeling increasingly nervous because of Leo's stern expression.
"Ah, what on earth happened to her? I went to her house and couldn't find her. I asked her former employees, and none of them knew where she went. Do you think she might have had an accident? Should I call the police?" Her tone was filled with anxiety and unease.
Sunny said, "Mom, don't call the police just yet. I think she might have gone on vacation. Has her family heard anything?"
"They haven't been in contact for a long time. Her dad definitely doesn't care about Olivia's well-being. I can't rely on him," her mother said indignantly.
Upon hearing this, a layer of sadness clouded Sunny's beautiful face.
She had always thought her aunt was living a happy life, but it seemed she couldn't escape the fate of being neglected.
Her aunt's experience made Sunny think about her own feelings, adding a few more sighs to her heart.
"By the way, Sunny, could Olivia be at Teresa's place? She and Olivia are the best of friends. She used to go there when she was hiding from your uncle."
Upon hearing her mother's words, Sunny nearly fainted.
Why did her mother suddenly mention Teresa?
Sunny's heart skipped a beat, and she became extremely nervous. She knew all too well what Theresa meant to them. If this name was involved, it could trigger a series of unpredictable troubles.
Sunny's face turned pale, and her eyes started to panic as she looked at Leo.
Leo was also staring at her, his expression inscrutable but exuding a dangerous aura.
Leo sensed that there must be some hidden story here, and judging from Sunny's abnormal reaction, Teresa was definitely not an ordinary person. His eyes unconsciously took on a scrutinizing and probing look, making the atmosphere around them tense.
"Mom, I don't think Olivia would be at Teresa's. She... she might have gone abroad for vacation," Sunny's heart raced, trying to calm down but failing miserably, her speech becoming incoherent.
She desperately wanted to cover up the matter and prevent Leo from learning about Teresa.
But the more she tried, the more guilty she seemed, and her words became stammering.
"Olivia wouldn't go on vacation alone. She must be hiding at Teresa's. You should find some time to go and see what's going on." Her mother was the most concerned about Olivia's whereabouts at the moment.
"Okay, I will find time to go," Sunny agreed immediately.
"You should go and confirm as soon as possible. If something happens, it might be too late!" Her mother was clearly scared.
"Alright, I'll do it as soon as I can," Sunny ended the call, her face still fluctuating between pale and flushed, her breathing somewhat rapid.
She looked at Leo, trying to force a smile to ease the tension, but instead heard Leo's deep and commanding voice, "Where is this Teresa your mom mentioned? Let's go there now."
