My Life in Wednesday With a Vampire System

Chapter 120 119 : Twister

Chapter 120 119 : Twister

"So I can guess you're trying to punch a hole into this dimension," Ethan said, glancing at the Book of the Dead in the creature's hand. "That's usually the goal of everything crawling out of that book."

The figure didn't deny it.

Its mangled face shifted slightly, the thin slit-like lines across the skin moving like something alive beneath the surface.

"Yes," it replied calmly. "The realms beyond grow… tedious."

The wind rose from the cliff below, carrying a faint whispering sound that didn't belong to the forest.

"In that prison dimension there are no new minds to break. No fresh bodies to twist. Only the same endless screaming from the same endless souls."

The Dark One's voice remained almost conversational.

"Cruelty requires novelty."

"This world was once our playground. Flesh, fear, despair… all so abundant. Mortals were wonderfully fragile. Their terror made the centuries entertaining."

The creature looked down briefly toward the endless drop below the cliff.

"But humans grew… inconvenient."

The slits across its face curled again, forming something close to amusement.

"They pushed us back. Sealed us away with our creations."

Its gaze returned to Ethan.

"But seals weaken. Books are found. Pages are read."

It raised the Necronomicon slightly.

"And now the door opens again."

The Dark One studied him with clear interest.

"You understand this, don't you? You stand here with power older than most living things in this era."

"Tell me, blood-born predator… are you here to stop us… or to join the feast?"

Ethan tilted his head slightly at the question, studying the creature with mild curiosity.

"So I'm not on your target list?" he asked. "That's surprising."

The Dark One let out a low, dry sound that might have been amusement.

"No," it said. "From what I can see, your outer form may resemble a mortal… but it is only a disguise."

"I can see it clearly."

The creature lifted one clawed finger and pointed toward Ethan's chest.

"You are a creature capable of striking terror into humans if they ever witnessed your true form."

Ethan gave a small shrug.

"Okay. Nice flattery."

The Dark One watched him carefully.

"But nah," Ethan continued. "I actually like humans."

He leaned slightly against a rock near the cliff edge, speaking casually.

"They're intelligent. They invented the internet, games, novels, stores, web series… an endless list of entertainment." He waved his hand vaguely. "That's way more interesting than torture."

The slits across the Dark One's face shifted slowly.

"So you disapprove," it said quietly.

The creature lifted the Book of the Dead slightly.

"Then I will simply lock you in this realm."

Its voice carried calm certainty.

"So that you cannot interfere."

The figure vanished.

The presence disappeared from the cliff like it had never been there.

Ethan stood still for a moment.

Then he turned around.

The cemetery stretched behind him through the fog, but the massive twisted tree he had entered earlier was gone.

The path back had vanished.

Ethan stared at the empty ground where it should have been.

"…You've got to be kidding me."

He ran a hand through his hair and looked around the graveyard again.

"Why the hell is this villain actually smart?" he muttered.

Most of the creatures he had faced so far preferred screaming and charging straight at him.

This one didn't even bother fighting.

"He dragged me here instead of fighting out there," Ethan said under his breath.

He glanced toward the cliff again.

"If we fought directly… I'm pretty sure I would've won."

Inside the cabin, Wednesday sat at the table studying the scattered translation notes.

One section made her pause.

The translator had underlined the passage several times, with hurried notes scribbled along the margins.

Wednesday leaned closer, reading the line again.

Then the cabin creaked.

The wooden walls groaned as the structure shifted slightly.

Ash immediately looked up and walked to the window. He pushed the curtain aside and leaned forward to see outside.

His expression dropped.

"Oh shit."

Selene stepped beside him and followed his gaze.

Beyond the tree line the forest was being ripped apart. Wind twisted through the woods while dirt, branches, and splinters of bark spun through the air like shrapnel.

A massive tornado tore across the ground.

And it was coming straight for the cabin.

Selene stepped away from the window immediately.

"Everyone grab something," she said sharply. "This isn't something we fight."

The roar outside grew louder until the entire cabin began to shake.

The tornado hit.

Wind slammed into the walls with brutal force. Windows exploded inward as glass shattered across the floor and violent air rushed into the cabin like a blast wave.

The entire structure groaned as if it were about to tear apart.

Enid pulled Lucy tightly against her chest and wrapped one arm around a thick wooden support beam. Lucy buried her face against her shoulder while the wind screamed through the broken windows.

Wednesday grabbed the edge of the table to anchor herself while Selene held onto a support pole beside the wall.

The twister wrapped completely around the cabin.

The pressure lifted the roof slightly, boards creaking as if the entire building might be ripped off the ground.

"I really wish Ethan was here right now!" Enid shouted over the roar.

The top of the cabin lifted higher.

And inside the swirling storm above them—

A face appeared.

A massive distorted face formed in the spinning wind, staring down through the opening roof at the people below.
