Chapter 454: Suppression!
Chapter 454: Suppression!
The next moment, Mitsuhide Kamishiro’s brow furrowed slightly. "You are indeed formidable. I had no idea Jingnan Prefecture had gained a master such as yourself."
"However, if you wish to defeat me, this is still not enough. I will kill you! Then I will kill your son and destroy the Qifei Group!"
Yang Qi smiled faintly. "There’s still much you don’t know. I came here today fully prepared for the possibility of being defeated by you. Unfortunately, you have yet to show me any skills that are remotely astonishing. Even now, are you really a Martial Arts Overlord?"
BOOM!
Mitsuhide Kamishiro’s aura grew even more terrifying. His powerful presence was proof of his realm.
Martial Arts Overlord!
"Now, what do you think?" Mitsuhide Kamishiro asked.
"So, you really are a Martial Arts Overlord. This is my first time seeing one in action. Interesting!" Yang Qi said with a laugh.
He had seen Uncle Jian fight before, but Uncle Jian had never unleashed the combat power of a Martial Arts Overlord, so that didn’t count.
"To witness a Martial Arts Overlord in action makes even death worthwhile for you!"
Mitsuhide Kamishiro raised his katana, aiming it at Yang Qi. A sharp ring from the blade echoed throughout the wedding venue, making everyone’s nerves fray.
"There’s no way that Yang Qingshan can win, right?" Li Qiutong couldn’t help but ask.
"Don’t worry," Li Qiuyu reassured her sister. "Even though I don’t practice martial arts, I know that a Martial Arts Overlord is countless times stronger than a Great Grandmaster. Only a martial artist who has defeated over a thousand Great Grandmasters can earn that title. That Yang Qingshan is doomed to lose!"
"That’s good. If that Yang Qingshan won, we’d be in serious trouble." Li Qiutong heaved a sigh of relief. "But why isn’t Yang Qi here? How could he not show up on such an important day?"
"I bet he didn’t dare to come," Li Qiuyu mocked. "He was probably too scared to watch his father be defeated. He’s nothing but a coward, after all."
"That’s true," Li Qiutong laughed. "What else can that loser do besides waste his days away?"
Back on the battlefield, Mitsuhide Kamishiro made his move again. As the crowd watched with rapt attention, he stomped on the ground and launched himself at Yang Qi. The distance between them was only a hundred meters. At Mitsuhide Kamishiro’s speed, closing that gap took mere seconds. In a flash, he appeared before Yang Qi. His katana quivered like a viper striking from its den, thrusting toward Yang Qi’s throat with a sharp glint of electric light. This was a killing blow.
Yang Qi showed no intention of dodging. A golden longsword condensed once more in his right hand, roaring with flames as he thrust it forward.
BANG!
The longsword and katana crashed together in another collision like a comet striking the earth. Immediately after, both figures recoiled. The exchange had been an even match. Mitsuhide Kamishiro seemed unfazed, as he was prepared for such an outcome; Yang Qingshan’s power had already proven to be beyond his initial expectations.
As he retreated, five small shuriken suddenly appeared in Mitsuhide Kamishiro’s left hand. He instantly hurled them toward Yang Qi. In a battle like this, there were no rules. Both sides were fighting to kill, so the use of Hidden Weapons was perfectly acceptable. The five shuriken even flashed with crackling electricity. They pierced the air resistance in an instant, arriving in front of Yang Qi in less than a second.
Just as Yang Qi prepared to defend, the five shuriken unexpectedly scattered, each one flying toward a different vital point on his body. It was an astonishing tactic. Normally, at such a close range, dodging or blocking them would be nearly impossible. But Mitsuhide Kamishiro’s opponent was Yang Qi, a man who always managed to create miracles.
The next moment, the five shuriken seemed to hit a powerful obstruction, sparking with electrical fire. A closer look revealed that they were tangled in thin metal wires, halting their advance. A moment later, they all clattered to the ground.
Everything had happened so fast. Yang Qi had only just stopped his retreat. In fact, he had only taken four or five steps back since their last exchange, yet so much had transpired in that brief time. Then, almost in unison, both men stopped and charged from their positions, attacking each other once more.
However, Mitsuhide Kamishiro’s movements were a fraction slower. The failure of his five shuriken to hit Yang Qi was something he found difficult to accept, and even the slightest moment of bewilderment can affect a battle. That was why he was slower.
Yang Qi’s golden sword stabbed toward Mitsuhide Kamishiro’s heart. His expression changed as he retreated violently, attempting to dodge the attack. However, he never expected the golden sword to suddenly transform into a spear mid-thrust. A spear was longer!
Mitsuhide Kamishiro couldn’t avoid it completely and was stabbed. Even with his Body Refining Technique, the blade left a deep gash; had it gone three inches deeper, it would have pierced his heart.
At this moment, Yang Qi had the advantage and pressed it relentlessly. In such an open area, his spear gave him a significant edge. Yang Qi closed in on Mitsuhide Kamishiro like a specter, his spear unleashing a flood of raw power.
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
Yang Qi advanced relentlessly as Mitsuhide Kamishiro was forced to retreat. Everyone had thought he could only use a sword and were caught completely off guard, unaware that his weapon was simply an Alchemy Blade. It could transform into whatever shape he desired.
Mitsuhide Kamishiro was at a disadvantage, but he didn’t panic. Although he was being beaten back step by step, he relied on his exquisite movement technique and powerful defense to dodge most of Yang Qi’s attacks, even managing to launch a few counterattacks.
At the wedding venue, everyone watched with bated breath. Some guests could no longer even follow the movements of the two combatants. The battle had entered a white-hot phase. Terrifying True Qi erupted continuously, carving countless trenches into the ground and producing one thunderous roar after another.
At this point, no one dared to claim that Yang Qingshan was certain to be defeated. Not to mention Chuyun Mo, even the directors of the Heavenly Dog Society felt their hearts grow heavy. This man could actually suppress their president, Mitsuhide Kamishiro. His combat power was simply astonishing. Everyone held their breath, watching anxiously, afraid to miss a single moment.
Finally, the two combatants stopped simultaneously. The relentless exchange of blows had left them both utterly exhausted. They stood in place, gasping for air.
Yang Qi was in relatively better condition. Although he had several cuts, he was still largely unharmed. Mitsuhide Kamishiro, however, looked far more ragged. He had more wounds than Yang Qi, several of them near vital areas. It was fortunate he practiced a Body Refining Technique; otherwise, he would already be dead.
Now, only the sound of their ragged breathing filled the air. The entire venue was completely silent; no one dared to make a sound, as if afraid of breaking the tense atmosphere.
