Chapter 96: Tension In The Afternoon Wind
Chapter 96: Tension In The Afternoon Wind
10 minutes before Julian arrived, at the Mataram Vocational High School security post.
"The point is, you hold the security guards back so they don’t interfere, then order Sagara to go to the rooftop of the third building and call me when he gets there" Lia said into the phone.
"Okay, okay... But what will I get from you if I follow your orders?" Bonang asked mockingly.
"I’ll treat you to limited-edition Lava Meatballs" Lia replied.
"I don’t want that" Bonang said.
"Eh? Why? Isn’t that your favorite?" Lia asked, confused.
"You’re right, but I want something different now," Bonang replied.
"Sigh... Alright, Alright... What do you want?" Lia asked.
"Kiss—" Bonang replied.
"Beep... Beep... Beep" the phone immediately cut off.
"Ah?..."
Bonang put his phone in his right pocket, stood up, and shouted.
"FUCCKKK!!!" Bonang shouted in annoyance.
Sagara—sitting to his right side, remained silent, glaring at him. Sagara was still wearing his class dress code.
"Sigh... Tell me, what should I do now?" Sagara asked.
Bonang sat back down, crossing her arms.
"Arrgh! You’re supposed to get ready on the rooftop of the third building. Call Lia back when you arrive!" Bonang replied irritably.
"Okay" Sagara said.
Sagara grabbed his guitar case containing his sniper rifle and left the security post.
"So what are our duties, Sir Bonang?" asked Rizqy—the first security guard .
"Do we have to go to the field?" asked Senima—the second security guard.
Bonang glanced at them and thought for a moment.
"They thought I was discussing the competition, so I should just invite them to a cafe for coffee" Bonang thought to himself.
"Yosh!" Bonang said, standing up.
Bonang put his arm around their necks.
"Let’s just have coffee at the cafe!" Bonang replied with a cheerful smile.
"Eh? Is it okay if we leave the post?" Senima asked.
"Relax~, relax~, they’re all having fun, so we should have fun too, ahahahhaa" Bonang replied.
Three minutes after they left, Kaza and Wulan arrived in front of the security post.
"Haa... Haa... Haaa... H-how is this, Kaza? The security guards aren’t... A-at the post" Wulan asked.
Kaza looked around, then tried to enter the post. Kaza exited the post because he couldn’t find anyone. Kaza caught his breath first, then said.
"You’re right, I can’t find them... Sagara said they were still here" Kaza said.
Wulan was still catching her breath. Seeing this, Kaza took the initiative to get a cold drink from the dispenser inside the security post using a plastic cup to the right of the dispenser.
After it was filled, Kaza offered the plastic cup to Wulan with his right hand.
"T-take this," Kaza said shyly.
Wulan was still catching her breath. Seeing this, Kaza took the initiative to get a cold drink from the dispenser inside the security post, using a 400 ml plastic cup to the right of the dispenser.
"Drink first..." Kaza said.
Wulan straightened up and smiled, saying,
"Thank you~" Wulan said.
As Wulan reached for her glass, she accidentally brushed Kaza’s hand. They were both startled by the contact, causing Kaza to involuntarily release the glass from his hand. Fortunately, Kaza had quick reflexes and immediately grabbed the glass with his left hand. However, the water in the glass was now barely there.
"Phew... Safe..." Kaza said.
"A-ahahaha, s-sorry for startling you," Wulan said with an awkward laugh, holding the back of her head with her left hand, her cheeks look flushed.
"N-nothing, I-I’ll refill" Kaza said with an awkward smile.
After that, the two of them sat at the security post.
"Phew~, so refreshing~" Wulan said, finishing her drink.
Wulan looked over at Kaza, who was looking with his phone.
"Then what should we do? The security guards aren’t at the post" Wulan asked.
Kaza stopped looking at his phone.
"Want to try looking in the parking lot? Maybe they’re chatting there?" Kaza asked again.
"Okay, let’s go there. We have to hurry so the situation can improve" Wulan replied.
Kaza and Wulan stood up, placing their glasses on the security guard’s desk.
"Okay, let’s go," Kaza said.
The two of them ran towards the school parking lot.
Returning to Julian’s side.
At 16:30, the afternoon breeze blew gently, and the atmosphere immediately fell silent when Julian arrived on the field.
"Ju-Julian?!" Wiro asked with a surprised expression.
"Julian?" Agus said with a surprised expression.
"So he’s the one named Julian?" muttered Senior Wily—Grade 12-M.
"H-he can kick back the ball kicked by that monster?" Senior Val wondered to himself, his expression looking shocked.
Julian looked back.
"Yes, it’s me" Julian said with a smile.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Wiro shouted anxiously.
"Mmmm, Kaza told me to come here" Julian replied.
"Kaza, you’re so stupid!" Wiro said irritably.
Julian smiled and turned around.
"Wiro, don’t blame Kaza... because if Kaza hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have known about this" Julian said.
"But Kazora was after you, Julian" Wiro said anxiously.
"We tried to stop him from killing you," Wiro continued.
Julian squatted down, put his right hand on Wiro’s shoulder, and said.
"Thank you," Julian said with a gentle smile.
"But if I don’t come out, a lot of people will get hurt" Julian continued softly.
"Geh! I can’t say anything else!" Wiro said angrily.
"Okay, if you understand," Julian said, standing up.
"Then, the girl over there" Julian said, calling Desy.
"Y-yes?" Desy asked.
"Take Wiro to my class’s canopy. Do you know which class I’m in?" Julian asked.
"Y-yes, I know!" Desy replied.
"What are you saying? I can still... s-stand" Wiro said, trying to stand but trembling.
But unfortunately, Wiro sat down again. Wiro was shocked.
"Come on, let’s go to the canopy" Desy said worriedly.
Wiro began gripping the grass with both palms.
"D-damn it!" Wiro said angrily.
After that, Wiro stood up with Desy’s help. Desy put Wiro’s right arm around her shoulders, and they walked off the field.
"ARE YOU DONE TALKING?" Kazora asked, warming up with his legs.
"Not yet, I have something to tell the others" Julian said, turning to Kazora.
"OK, I’LL WAIT FOR YOU" Kazora said, who had finished warming up.
"Thank you" Julian said.
Julian looked at the 11 students behind Kazora.
"GUYS! NOW YOU CAN LEAVE THIS TO ME! YOU CAN ESCAPE SOMEWHERE AND TAKE THE INJURED TO THE INFIRMARY SCHOOL!" Julian shouted.
"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? WE’RE ALREADY HAVING FUN, SO LET US HELP YOU!" Senior Wily shouted.
"RIGHT, WE’LL BEAT HIM TOGETHER!" Agus shouted.
Shouts began to rise from the 11 students.
"I KNOW YOU’RE STILL EXCITED, BUT PLEASE LET ME FIGHT HIM, BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE THIS SHOULD BE SET OUT BETWEEN ME AND HIM ALONE!" Julian shouted.
"WHAT THE HELL YOU SAY? WE’LL STILL HELP YOU!" shouted Senior Loloa —grade 12-SW.
"ENOUGH, DON’T PRETEND TO BE A HERO, LET’S WORK TOGETHER TO DEFEAT HIM!" shouted Senior Rawna —grade 12-SW.
"This is bad, how am I supposed to convince them?" Julian asked himself with a worried expression.
Amidst the commotion, Senior Val suddenly shouted.
"GUYS! LISTEN TO ME!" Senior Val shouted.
All the students fell silent, including Kazora and Julian. They turned to Senior Val.
"ENOUGH, LET’S FOLLOW THAT KID’S WORDS. WE’D BETTER JUST TAKE THE INJURED ONE TO THE NURSE!" Senior Val shouted.
"I AGREE WITH VAL!" shouted Tutut—grade 11-B (Val’s childhood friend).
"Tutut, I told you to call me Senior at school" Senior Val said with a flat expression.
Tutut just smiled, then looked at the other students.
"GUYS, WE’D BETTER RETREAT BECAUSE THE ONE KAZORA IS LOOKING FOR HAS ARRIVED!" Tutut shouted.
"IF WE STAY HERE, WE’LL ONLY BE A BURDEN TO HIM!" Tutut continued.
"WE KNOW!, but are you sure Julian can handle it?" asked Senior Dika—grade 12-S.
Tutut smiled and answered.
"It’s simple, we’ll just watch from a distance. If he needs help, we’ll help" Tutut replied with a smile.
The other students looked at each other with doubt and anxiety, but soon they understood and nodded, after which they began helping the injured.
"I don’t know them, but I think I heard them call each other by their names. In that case..." Julian thought to himself.
"THANK YOU SO MUCH, TUTUT AND VAL!" Julian shouted.
"OI!, ADD SENIOR WHEN YOU CALL VAL’S NAME!" Senior Val shouted angrily.
"You’re Welcome" Tutut said with a smile.
"O-okay, I understand" Julian said awkwardly.
After that, the two of them went and helped the injured.
"FINALLY THERE ARE NO MORE DISTURBERS!" Kazora said.
"Yeah, I thank you for not attacking me while I was talking" Julian said seriously.
"IT’S FINE. I DON’T ATTACK PEOPLE WHEN THEY’RE OFF GUARD—THERE’S NO FUN IN THAT" Kazora said.
Julian smile.
"Then—" Julian said.
In three seconds, Julian was in front of Kazora.
"I’ll be serious..." Julian said coldly.
Kazora’s eyes widened, as did the students who happened to be watching. Julian quickly launched his right fist.
"WHOOSHHH!"
"GRAB!" Kazora managed to grabbed Julian’s fist with his left hand.
"NICE, BUT THAT’S STILL NOT ENOUGH!" Kazora said.
Kazora began spinning Julian around, then threw him towards where Wiro had fallen. Wiro, watching from a distance, shouted.
"JULIAN!" Wiro shouted with a worried expression.
Meanwhile, Desy could only cover her mouth with both hands to hide her shocked expression.
"A-ah, that’s right... I-I have to call A-Anindya," Desy said, trembling.
She quickly took her phone from her short’s right pocket. As she called Anindya, tears welled in Desy’s eyes.
"Hello," Anindya answered into the phone.
"HELLO!, ANINDYA, WHERE ARE YOU!?" Desy asked frantically.
"Me?... I’m in class" Anindya replied.
"YOU’RE AN IDIOT!" Desy shouted in annoyance.
"Desy... You’re so cruel, calling me idiot" Anindya said in an annoyed tone.
"S-SORRY, I’M PANICING" Desy said.
"Okay, I forgive you," Anindya said with a smile.
"While you’re calming yourself down... tell me what happened?" Anindya asked.
"Julian... Ju-Julian... Ju-Julian!" Desy replied in panic.
"What happened to Julian?" Anindya asked.
Kazora began walking toward Julian, who lay motionless on top of the canopy.
"H-he got beat up and... and... and passed out," Desy replied.
Anindya smiled.
"Don’t worry, Desy, because..." Anindya said.
Desy was a little confused, while Kazora and Wiro were a little surprised to see Julian’s fingers suddenly move slowly. Just as a large cloud covered the afternoon sun—Julian lunged and hit Kazora with his right fist.
"... Julian is really strong!" Anindya continued proudly.
Julian managed to punch Kazora in the left cheek, surprising him, and immediately sending him flying 16 meters to the right. Everyone who witnessed the scene was shocked, and Wiro was even more shocked when he saw Julian grinning like a psychopath.
"Glug! T-That smile... just like the first time I saw him fight thugs in junior high!," Wiro thought to himself.
"But the difference is, he’s not using a long chain" Wiro continued.
Kazora slowly got up.
"HEHEHE, I see, you can still stand. Then I won’t have to hold back my strength!" Julian said in a deep voice.
"HEHEHE, SO YOU HAVE AN INTERESTING POWER, Huh?!" Kazora asked with a grin.
"OF COURSE, I TRAINED HARD IN MY HOMETOWN WHEN I WAS A CHILD" Julian replied, getting into his fighting stance, placing his right foot back and his left foot in front.
"NICE" Kazora said.
Kazora began to get into his fighting stance, spreading his legs.
"THEN THIS IS GOING TO BE AN EXCITING FIGHT!!!" Kazora said with a grin.
The atmosphere grew tense, a strong afternoon wind blew across the field, and white clouds began to obscure the afternoon sun.
