Chapter 93: From A Lie, A Love Is Born
Julian ate the chicken bit by bit.
"How does it taste?" Anindya asked.
Julian looked to his right, and Anindya’s face was already about a meter away from him.
"I-it’s delicious—the meat is a little juicy, tender... and a little spicy," Julian replied, his cheeks flushing again.
Anindya returned to her position, then pressed her fingertips together and said.
"Maa~, as I thought—Julian is very strong~" Anindya said with a soft smile.
"Eh? What do you mean?" Julian asked.
Anindya pointed to Julian’s food box.
"That’s level 13—the spiciest level in the Lava Chicken" Anindya replied.
"W-what the hell?!" Julian said, shocked.
Julian looked back at his chicken and tried to compare it to Anindya’s. Julian stared at his chicken.
"I-It’s true, my sauce is brown and Anindya’s is yellow, so you could say the very spicy level is brown?" Julian asked himself.
"Julian?" Anindya called out, confused.
"Y-yes?" Julian replied.
"Why are you so quiet? Are you full?" Anindya asked.
"N-no, I just wanted to know what level yours is?" Julian asked.
"Level 10~" Anindya replied with sweet smile.
Julian was immediately shocked.
"As I thought" Julian said to himself with a blank expression.
"Ah, Lia’s is level 8" Anindya said.
Julian stopped being surprised, his expression now changing to one of confusion after seeing Lia’s red chili sauce.
"Anindya... I wonder what color chili sauce they have" Julian said.
"If you’re curious, I can tell you" Anindya said.
"Oh, you know?" Julian asked.
"Of course, sometimes I often eat at that branch of the restaurant with my friends or my family" Anindya replied.
"Then tell me!" Julian said with a serious expression.
"I’m curious because I rarely eat at that restaurant. If I have the money, I plan to buy it for my mom because she likes spicy food
" Julian thought to himself with a serious expression.
Anindya was a little surprised by Julian’s expression. She smiled and replied.
"Sure, but you have to tell me something first" Anindya replied.
"Okay, what do you want to know?" Julian asked.
Anindya placed her food box on the rug, wrapped her arms around Julian’s right arm, and pressed her chest to his right arm. Julian was immediately taken aback.
"You’re not going to change your mind, are you?" Anindya asked with a teasing expression and tone.
"Wh-Which thought!?" Julian asked, confused and panicked.
Anindya started running her index finger across Julian’s chest, causing him to shiver.
"That’s what you said... you’d join us" Anindya replied.
"Nice, Lady, keep teasing him!" Lia thought to herself as she sipped her matcha, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Julian was very tense, but soon he began to take a deep breath and then exhale through his mouth. With courage, he released from Anindya’s embrace, turned to her, and grabbed her shoulders. Anindya was immediately shocked and her face flushed red.
"Eh!? W-What is this!?" Anindya asked with a panicked expression.
"Anindya" Julian called out firmly.
"Y-yes!" Anindya replied frantically.
"I need to talk to you alone" Julian said firmly.
After that, Lia kept her distance from them, now on the right side of the fish pond, eating chewing gum and using earphones to watch a drama on her phone. Now it was just the two of them, and the atmosphere was awkward, both of them facing away from each other.
"W-what should I say!?," Julian asked himself in a panic.
"After I say that my confession was because I lost a game, what will happen next? Will he punch me?! Kick me?! Slap me?! Or worse... kill me!?" Julian asked himself in a panic.
Meanwhile, Anindya.
"D-Does Julian want to break up with me!?" Anindya asked herself in a panic.
"I-If so, I’ll kidnap him and lock him in my room forever—"
"HAH!? Wait a minute... Then that means I’m married to Julian!?" Anindya said in her mind, holding her cheeks with both palms.
"KYAA~!" Anindya shouted in her mind.
"T-this isn’t a bad idea after all" Anindya said, breathing heavily.
Anindya tried to slowly look at Julian, thinking to herself.
"W-What is Julian thinking right now?" Anindya asked herself.
Anindya looked at Julian, slightly surprised to see his tense and confused expression. Seeing this, Anindya’s intentions suddenly vanished. As his girlfriend, she felt compelled to calm him down. Anindya gently hugged Julian from behind, and Julian, feeling the embrace, was immediately taken aback.
"A-Anindya?!" Julian asked, startled, his cheeks slowly turning red.
"Calm down, Julian. Say what you want to say... I won’t be mad" Anindya said softly.
Anindya closed her eyes.
"That’s right. I shouldn’t be mad if he says that, but—" Anindya said softly to herself.
Then she opened her eyes and said to herself.
"If he asks to break up, I’ll still carry out my plan to kidnap him, muhehehe~" Anindya continued with grinning, her intention resurfacing.
"She’s right. I have to tell her so I don’t regret it and so I don’t feel uneasy!" Julian said firmly to himself.
While Anindya was still chuckling, Julian released her embrace, then turned his around and called out to her.
"Anindya!"
"Yes, Julian?" Anindya asked with a cute expression.
Julian was a little confused by Anindya’s behavior, but he tried to ignore it. Julian started holding Anindya’s shoulders, startling her, and her cheeks immediately flushed.
"Anindya, l-listen to me, I hope you’ll accept whatever I say" Julian said with a serious expression, though his tone sounded nervous.
"O-okay!" Anindya replied nervously.
The atmosphere between them immediately became tense.
"U-um... I’m-I’m-I’m..." Julian said nervously.
"I’m?" Anindya was confused.
"I-I-I-I—"
Julian was nervous for three minutes, then he screamed in his throat.
"AKHHH!!!"
The scream was meant to strengthen himself.
"I’M SORRY, MY LOVE CONFESSION TO YOU WAS FAKE I DID IT BECAUSE I LOST THE GAME!!!!" Julian shouted.
Anindya’s expression was immediately shocked, and the atmosphere fell silent. Only the sounds of birds chirping, the shouts of the spectators watching the competition, and the sound of garden devices could be heard. Anindya who looked shocked, she slowly smiled and laughed.
"Pfft! AHAHAHAHAHA~!"
Julian removed his hands from Anindya’s shoulders.
"Wh-why are you laughing?" Julian asked, embarrassed.
"Ahahaha, N-Nothing, you’re just funny~" Anindya said, laughing until tears welled up in her eyes.
Julian felt ridiculous, and he shouted to reassure Anindya.
"I-I’M NOT JOKING! I-I’M SERIOUS! I’M NOT LYING—I’M SO SORRY, I’M A FUCKING ASSHOLE! I PROMISE I’LL REPLACE ALL THE MONEY YOU SPEND ON OUR DATE!!!" Julian said.
The atmosphere fell silent again. Anindya stopped laughing, her expression now changed to one of surprise as Julian lowered his head.
"Julian" Anindya called out firmly.
"Yes!" Julian replied, still lowering his head with a regretful expression.
"Raise your head first" Anindya said.
"O-okay..." Julian said.
Julian slowly raised his head. As he looked forward, Anindya suddenly kissed him on his right cheek. Julian was immediately shocked.
"W-W-W-WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?" Julian asked frantically, his face reddening like a boiled crab, as he held his right cheek.
Anindya returned to her position.
"Julian, listen to me" Anindya called with a smile and a gentle tone.
Julian immediately came to his senses and glanced at Anindya.
"I’ve known you since junior high... I’ve always watched you, I know your antics at school, and I’ve known your mother well. You’re kind and like to help anyone in need—you even nearly died trying to help someone" Anindya said.
Anindya touched her chest with her right hand and said,
"That’s why you don’t need to apologize, because I already know all your activities," Anindya continued with a sweet smile.
Julian was slightly impressed, then suddenly realized. Julian stared at Anindya with narrowed eyes.
"Wait a minute... why do you sound like a stalker?" Julian asked, confused.
Anindya blinked twice, then chuckled.
"Fufu~, the word stalker sounds so mean. I’m watching you because I love you, not because I want to do anything bad~" Anindya replied casually.
"Don’t lie to me" Julian said with a flat expression.
Anindya lowered her head and played with her index fingers as she said.
"Am I not allowed to... pay attention to the person I like?" Anindya asked shyly, glancing at Julian cutely.
Seeing Anindya’s shy expression made Julian blush.
"Y-yeah... I-it’s okay, but it’s like—" Julian replied, turning his gaze to the right in embarrassment.
Anindya glanced at him and immediately interrupted, worried he would dig deeper. Finally, she re-embraced Julian’s right arm and said.
"Never mind, the point is, I’ve forgiven your mistakes since we first started dating" Anindya said with a sweet smile.
"Seriously?" Julian asked.
"Yeah, you love me now, right?" Anindya smiled sweetly at Julian.
Julian’s heart began to warm, the burden and anxiety he had been feeling slowly fading away at Anindya’s words and embrace. Julian smiled and said,
"Yes, you’re right. I’m starting to love you now" Julian said softly.
"Great, I love you even more" Anindya said softly, leaning her head on Julian’s right arm.
Seeing this, Lia smiled and walked away toward the field, not wanting to disturb them.
