Chapter 891: Sharp Tongue, Soft Heart 2
Si Lisao shifted to a more relaxed sitting position and said, "Even if there is no public opposition, Qu Liushang would never exchange the technology of the arbitrary door. The cooperation is temporarily canceled. Since you’re not mad, when are you going to add me back on WeChat?"
There’s someone at home who needs coaxing.
Si Yuan said that before his little sister adds him back on WeChat, he’s not allowed to sleep in the bedroom at night.
Si Lisao pressed his brow; he never knew that the pampered ones at home would kick him out of the bedroom right after their wedding. Despite the many rooms in the house, Si Lisao couldn’t accept being shut out of the bedroom; it was a blow to his dignity.
Si Mingjing wasn’t in a hurry to add him back on WeChat. She asked, "Canceling the cooperation, does it ruin your plans? I heard from Yinhe that although two years ago at the Four Nations Summit, they secured a ten-year tax exemption agreement from Qu Gaoyang, the late king was a cunning old fox, creating many policy hurdles, unwilling to let Yinhe take advantage even at the cost of economic sacrifices. This time, the signed third-party market cooperation agreement was a win-win-win deal. But because of my meddling, has it turned into a lose-lose-lose situation?"
Si Lisao, with a dignified voice, wasn’t concerned: "If it doesn’t work this time, Qu Liushang will find other opportunities to complete the third-party market cooperation. If you don’t like it, this can end for good in the future, too."
Si Lisao didn’t want to be kicked out every day, miserably sleeping in the study.
Si Mingjing smiled but didn’t comment.
Si Lisao fiddled with his phone ring and sent her another WeChat friend request in an unyielding tone: "Accept it, hurry up, I’m anxious to go home."
Si Mingjing suddenly understood and lazily asked, "Brother, is Siyuan still mad?"
Si Lisao furrowed his brows and said nothing; it was tacit approval.
Si Mingjing accepted the friend request and sent a screenshot to Ye Siyuan.
Ye Siyuan replied on WeChat: "Huh? Sister-in-law, how could you be so unprincipled, you promised to be mad with me and ignore them for a month!"
Si Mingjing replied quickly: "I drank too much last night and forgot to kick your brother out of the bedroom. Listening to his analysis, they don’t want to help Qu Liushang develop the economy; they want to dominate Gendaya’s market, monopolize Gendaya’s economy, and strangle Gendaya’s throat. Since that’s the case, it seems there’s no need to be upset. You’re newlyweds; enjoy your nightlife."
Ye Siyuan blushed furiously and replied, "What nightlife? I don’t know what you’re talking about; sister-in-law, you’ve become naughty!"
Si Mingjing reiterated: "Don’t be mad anymore, it’s unnecessary."
Ye Siyuan muttered and replied: "Okay, I’ll listen to you, sister-in-law, but I’ve already said harsh words about ignoring him for a week. How can I now save face and say I’m not mad? It makes it seem like I have no principles at all."
Si Mingjing showed the chat records to Si Lisao, who stood up in satisfaction and said, "Thanks."
Si Lisao didn’t head straight back to the residence. Instead, he took a small submarine to the busiest mall, bought a portion of braised duck from a shop on the first floor, and picked up a necklace before heading back home to appease his wife.
Si Lisao returned to the estate, and Ye Siyuan was already sleeping, but the bedroom door wasn’t locked tonight.
Hearing the door creak open, the not-yet-asleep Ye Siyuan remained still, listening intently.
The footsteps came closer, stopping by the bedside.
Ye Siyuan pursed her lips, pretending to be asleep, but she could smell the aroma of braised duck.
Wow! It smells so good; just one whiff, and she knew where it was from. It’s the only place in the Imperial Capital Undersea with her favorite flavor.
Ye Siyuan instinctively swallowed, desperate to open her eyes and taste the braised duck.
Si Lisao placed the braised duck on the bedside table and headed to the bathroom for a shower.
Once the bathroom door closed and the sound of rushing water was heard, Ye Siyuan immediately opened her eyes, staring at the braised duck on the nightstand, drooling. The temptation was too much; after a few seconds of struggle, she put on a pair of disposable gloves from the bag, picked the most enticing piece of meat, and put it in her mouth.
She ate three pieces of braised duck meat, feeling she couldn’t eat any more; if she did, her husband would notice a few pieces missing, so she reluctantly took off the gloves and tossed them in the trash bin.
Fearing evidence of her crime might be discovered, Ye Siyuan grabbed several napkins and covered the disposable gloves.
At this moment, the sound of water from the bathroom stopped, and Ye Siyuan was so startled she hurried back to bed, pretending to be asleep.
However, after waiting for a while, no one came out of the bathroom.
Then, a loud "thud" came from the bathroom, causing Ye Siyuan’s heart to race in panic—what happened?
She wanted to, but held herself back, listening intently. No more sounds came from the bathroom for a while. Could it be that her husband fell and fainted inside?
Ye Siyuan couldn’t care about pretending to sleep anymore; she immediately got out of bed without putting on slippers, quickly walked to the bathroom, and knocked on the door: "Husband? Husband?"
There was no response.
Ye Siyuan panicked, knocking on the door more loudly: "Husband, are you okay? Husband?"
Surely, he must have fainted; otherwise, why would there be no sound?
In distress, Ye Siyuan stepped back, preparing to slam the door open. But before she could lift a foot, the door opened from the inside. Si Lisao stood there wrapped in a towel, tall and toned, his eight-pack abs drawing her eyes downward...
Ye Siyuan was stunned and swallowed before asking, "Are you okay? Why didn’t you answer when I called? Did you fall somewhere?"
Her anxious voice couldn’t hide her concern.
Si Lisao maintained his usual calm expression and shook his head: "I’m fine, just slipped."
He stepped out of the bathroom, walking with a slight limp, and sat down on the bed.
"Did you hurt your leg? Let me get the first aid kit." Ye Siyuan was distraught, asking while fetching the first aid kit.
Watching her hurry back with the kit filled Si Lisao’s eyes with warmth, he asked on purpose: "Weren’t you still angry? Saying you never wanted to speak to me again? Why so worried now?"
Ye Siyuan couldn’t bother to be mad; she saw the bruise on his ankle and immediately took out the liniment from the first aid kit, pouring it into her palm and massaging it into his ankle to help it absorb completely.
She crouched, so considerate and warm-hearted.
Si Lisao pulled her up and said, "It’s okay, I can do it myself."
"How could you be so careless?" Ye Siyuan’s eyes reddened slightly.
Si Lisao pulled her into his arms, lifted her chin, and asked, "You worried about me?"
Ye Siyuan huffed proudly: "Who’s worried about you? I’m just afraid if you get seriously hurt, outsiders would think I domestic abused you, and where would I find a place for myself on Mu Continent? Is there anywhere else you got hurt? Hurry up and apply the medicine."
Truly, her pride didn’t last three seconds before she started fussing over his injuries, fearing delaying the treatment would worsen the bruise.
