Chapter 849: The True Son of Destiny 2
Chapter 849: The True Son of Destiny 2
Ye Siyuan couldn’t stop her classmates from discussing the mysterious "Gendaya," but she didn’t participate. No matter how Xia Wangyang asked her, she just smiled without speaking. Later, she went upstairs to take a nap, claiming she needed rest.
Xia Wangyang could only leave disappointed, along with a few other classmates, departing from the Ye Family.
Ye Siyuan lay on the bed, watching Si Lisao sitting at the bedside talking on the phone. From his conversation, she confirmed that Qu Liushang truly wanted to follow her brother’s lead, opening the Undersea Empire to land-based countries for tourism, marine trade, and more. Qu Liushang seemed like a dragon hidden in the depths, waiting all these years, now finally ready to make a grand display.
He was devoted and ambitious, aiming to lift Gendaya Country out of being the weakest of the four Undersea Empires. Even Si Lisao commented that he was not to be underestimated!
After hanging up the phone, Si Lisao noticed her slightly furrowed brows and smiled, gently smoothing them out with his hand. He said, "Don’t worry about him, what do you want to eat tonight?"
"I want hotpot, but you won’t let me eat it. We just got married, and I’m already being controlled. I’ve become a wife under strict management," Ye Siyuan teased, showing a pitiable expression.
Si Lisao chuckled twice, ignoring her self-pity, only asking, "Do you regret marrying me?"
Ye Siyuan immediately hugged his arm, saying, "No regrets."
Si Lisao gently caressed her face, smiling, "How pathetic, you don’t even dare to say the word regret?"
"It’s because I love you!"
Ye Siyuan snorted, turning her face aside, "The unattainable is always in turmoil. I’m not the favored one. If I were as favored as my sister-in-law, I would definitely have hotpot tonight no matter what!"
She really racked her brains trying to have hotpot.
Unfortunately, Si Lisao didn’t respond, just leaned over and lightly kissed her forehead.
Later, hearing a car’s engine stop downstairs, Si Lisao then went out.
Ye Siyuan lay alone on the bed, punching the quilt twice in frustration. She turned on the TV in a huff, settling on a movie since she couldn’t have hotpot to pass the time.
Si Mingjing inspected the Si Group, finding everything in order, without any issues despite her long absence as CEO, so she returned home contently.
Si Mingjing walked in, seeing Si Lisao coming down the stairs, she called out, "Brother."
"Yes, how are things?"
Si Lisao descended the stairs.
Si Mingjing smiled and said, "A minor accident, but it doesn’t affect the overall situation."
Si Lisao knew she was always smart, and nothing could really stump her.
He mentioned encountering a problem, saying, "Siyuan wants hotpot; I want to fulfill her wish."
Si Lisao wouldn’t promise Ye Siyuan directly but secretly considered how to let her have hotpot without harming her health, asking carefully, "Can she have hotpot?"
Si Mingjing thought for a moment, "It’s not impossible, just avoid spicy food. We could choose a seafood broth. I heard from Yinhe that a mermaid’s body differs from ordinary people, that when physically weak, they’re actually better suited to eat seafood. Yesterday, Yinhe and I went to the market for fish; he specifically selected marine fish. If Siyuan really wants hotpot, I’ll have the kitchen prepare a seafood broth hotpot."
Si Lisao stood with arms crossed, nodding, "Good, go prepare it."
Si Mingjing found the butler and instructed him to prepare seafood hotpot for the evening. Then she went upstairs to see Siyuan.
Ye Siyuan was watching a movie, and Si Mingjing watched for a few minutes, getting hooked. The two then watched together in the room until another car engine sounded downstairs—it was Mo Yinhe returning.
He had visited a university, taking interest in a graduate student. The young man was flattered, leaving university professors baffled as to why Mo Yinhe valued him, lacking any apparent qualifications.
Si Mingjing went downstairs to first ask the butler how the seafood hotpot was coming along.
The butler replied, "Ma’am, it’s ready for dining."
The house had plenty of ingredients, and hotpot requires no real cooking beyond preparing the broth, so it’s quickly done.
Si Mingjing nodded, "Then let’s prepare for dining."
Everyone was back, and she was getting hungry.
Si Lisao went upstairs to call Ye Siyuan for dinner. Ye Siyuan hadn’t finished her movie and lazily said, "If it’s not hotpot, I won’t eat it. My mouth is tasting bland..."
The last word was swallowed as Si Lisao kissed her.
He pulled back the quilt, lifted her up, saying, "No swearing, we’ve prepared hotpot tonight."
Ye Siyuan didn’t believe him, "You’re lying to me."
"Siyuan, I’ve never said you’re not favored!"
This was his retort to her comment: The unattainable is always in turmoil.
Ye Siyuan was thrilled, wrapping her arms around Si Lisao’s neck, letting him carry her like a princess, "Really eating hotpot?"
"Yes, seafood hotpot."
"Not spicy?" Ye Siyuan’s expression fell.
Downstairs, seeing the table laid out with shrimp, shells, sea cucumber, all quite appetizing, her gloomy face quickly brightened, asking, "What kind of broth, what kind of broth?"
Butler said, "Miss, it’s chicken soup broth, you’ll find it refreshing."
Si Mingjing instructed the butler to prepare seafood hotpot with the chef suggesting chicken soup broth. Chicken soup had already been simmered, not spicy but tasty, best for strengthening Ye Siyuan’s body.
The butler lovingly served Ye Siyuan, whom he’d watched grow up, offering her a bowl of chicken soup, "It’s from a free-range ranch chicken, not store-bought, raised for three years—it’s delicious."
"Is it?" Ye Siyuan went to the table, seeing the thin layer of yellow oil floating on the soup, it looked appetizing and she took a sip.
"Miss, how is it?"
Ye Siyuan nodded repeatedly, "Delicious, just a bit hot."
"Drink slowly."
Ye Siyuan cheered up, sitting down, taking two sips before filling a small bowl to mix hotpot dip.
Mo Yinhe, having washed his hands, pulled a chair to join her.
Si Mingjing asked him, "How was your day?"
"Your husband took charge; there’s nothing he couldn’t handle. The young man said he’d think about it and give me an answer in a couple of days." But Mo Yinhe’s offer was too good to resist, he believed.
Mo Yinhe also mixed hotpot dip, asking, "Seen Mrs. Chen at the hospital, how’s she doing?"
Si Mingjing explained.
Ye Siyuan interjected, "Sister-in-law, why is Mrs. Chen so ungrateful? Stop treating her!"
"Once bitten, twice shy, hard to blame her entirely." Trying herbal medicine put her in the hospital; anyone might find traditional medicine deceptive.
Si Mingjing patiently said, "I’m treating another elderly woman in the same room first—a indirect approach."
