Chapter 830: Fell Into the Trap 1
Chapter 830: Fell Into the Trap 1
However, from start to finish, no one paid attention to that shoebox.
The groomsmen and those instigating the search for the bride’s shoes all saw the shoebox but were unwilling to search through it, thinking the bridesmaids wouldn’t be so foolish as to place the shoes in the shoebox where they could be found at first glance.
In the end, Sheng Liuyun found the luxurious red high heels in the crack of the wardrobe and boasted, "I found them!"
Sheng Liuyun proudly handed the red high heels to Si Lisao, saying, "Quick, carry the bride out!"
Si Lisao gave Sheng Liuyun a sidelong glance.
Sheng Liuyun was surprised, wondering why he felt Si Lisao’s look was unfriendly?
Si Lisao waited for a while, but no one went to touch the shoebox above the wardrobe. His heart suddenly sank, feeling that something was wrong. Could it be a trap?
The groomsmen on the side were still causing a commotion, so Si Lisao had to put the high heels on Ye Siyuan first, then carried her in a princess hug out of the bride’s room amid the crowd’s cheers and noise.
Ye Siyuan was equally puzzled in his arms: "Lisao, why didn’t anyone check the shoebox, or was Sheng Liuyun too quick to find the shoes, leaving no time for mischief?"
Si Lisao’s heart sank slightly.
He furrowed his brows and said, "Perhaps it was a trap."
"Huh?"
"It was a smokescreen placed by the other side to divert our attention; their intention isn’t here." After Si Lisao finished speaking, seeing Ye Siyuan’s face looking not too well, he comforted her in a steady voice, "It’s okay, don’t worry. There won’t be any unexpected incidents at today’s wedding, I assure you. Just relax and be the bride."
Ye Siyuan felt relieved, as she was not afraid and joyfully enjoyed being surrounded by people.
Si Lisao carried her directly into the submarine without catching his breath and even bumped into it himself.
Dozens of submarines came in a grand style and left in a grand style, without any accidents.
After the bride collection team left, Ye Shen couldn’t wait to call Si Mingjing.
Si Mingjing was at the Prince Regent’s Mansion. Today, as Si Lisao’s sister and the Queen of Mu Continent, she waited there for news from the Bai Family.
But Ye Shen called her, saying, "Sister-in-law, it’s strange that there were no incidents. Could it be that our discovery about the shoebox was already found out?"
"No one came out to cause trouble?" Si Mingjing was quite surprised.
Logically, no one should have noticed, as she had Song Yuan do it covertly without leaking a bit.
Ye Shen assured, "No! I was all ready for a fight, but everything went smoothly."
Si Mingjing pondered, "Has Siyuan left?"
"The bride collection team just left."
Si Mingjing felt something was amiss.
"Sister-in-law? Sister-in-law, what’s going on?"
"It’s nothing," Si Mingjing said, but she didn’t really think so inside.
Perhaps she was being played; someone purposely let Ye Shen see the sneaky youngster at the Bai Residence, keeping her focus on the bride’s room. This might have been a smokescreen, and the other side might have a bigger move.
Si Mingjing rarely miscalculates, but at this moment, she had a premonition—she might have been caught in a trap!
Their move wasn’t aimed at the wedding but rather at somewhere else that she hadn’t thought of yet.
Her attention had been successfully diverted, and perhaps, during this period, the other side had already succeeded!
Half an hour later, the bride collection team wandered around the skies of the Imperial Capital in a grand manner and finally returned to the Prince Regent’s Mansion, where electronic salutes were fired, and the groom’s family came to see the bride.
Si Mingjing joined in to watch the excitement.
While others watched the bride and groom, she watched her brother-in-law who accompanied the bride collection team.
Mo Yinhe came out of the submarine, scanning the sea of heads with his deep gaze which finally stopped on her face, as he walked towards her.
When Mo Yinhe approached, she said, "It seems they’ve got us."
"I know," Mo Yinhe said. "Today is Siyuan’s joyous day, no point in bothering with bothersome matters. Take things as they come—what’s a little miscalculation now and then?"
With Mo Yinhe’s words, Si Mingjing felt at ease.
Siyuan’s wedding was lively and without any unexpected incidents. Actually, this was the best outcome—who would hope for disruptions at a wedding?
Si Mingjing smiled gently, "Siyuan is married off; how do you feel?"
Mo Yinhe put an arm around her shoulder, following the crowd ahead, and said, "Quite good. I’ve always been worried about her marriage, afraid she’d marry the wrong person or find no one worthy of her, breaking my heart all this time. Now that she’s finally married, even though I still find your brother annoying however I look at him, I’m at ease entrusting Siyuan to him."
Hearing this from Mo Yinhe surprised Si Mingjing quite a bit.
She said, "Is that the truth?"
Mo Yinhe pinched her nose, "Your brother is a man one can entrust their lifetime with, don’t I know that? When I got married, my brothers-in-law wouldn’t let me leave with you by my side. I still feel uncomfortable about it now. Look how generous I am; I didn’t interfere at all, acting completely invisible, letting your brother easily carry you out. That’s what makes a qualified brother-in-law!"
Mo Yinhe was genuinely self-assertive, self-advertising.
Si Mingjing laughed, stood on tiptoes, kissed his cheek, and comforted him, "You’ve mentioned that little thing countless times."
Mo Yinhe put on a slightly angry face and said, "Whoever causes trouble at my wedding, I’ll remember them for life!"
Such pettiness!
Si Mingjing said, "It was my brother who didn’t let you carry me. Aren’t you getting along well with my brother now? I haven’t seen you holding grudges against him, and you’re even putting effort into helping him build an aerospace base."
Mo Yinhe replied, "Your brother gave me all the photos and videos of Fengyin from childhood; merits and demerits offset each other. Otherwise, I would cause trouble every day! Besides, building the aerospace base isn’t for your brother, but a gift for his wife from the most favored Empress of Mu Continent."
Unable to out-talk him, Si Mingjing simply stayed silent, smiled, and watched the bustle.
Ye Siyuan was carried all the way to the bridal room by Si Lisao, and Si Mingjing slipped inside too, while Mo Yinhe, acting as the big brother-in-law, was invited to dine at the banquet hall, with Si Lisao also present to entertain the guests.
Ye Siyuan stayed in the bridal room, watching everyone leave. She eagerly opened the box Si Lisao gave her, which contained a pair of delicate Little Dragon figurines, a boy and a girl, symbolizing the blessing of having children.
Inside the box was an envelope.
Ye Siyuan opened the envelope, finding a sheet of official paper with the Dragon Temple’s stamp on it.
The official paper was a written promise from Si Lisao, a commitment to marriage. Ye Siyuan recognized his handwriting; each word on the certificate felt like the most beautiful love confession.
"Sister-in-law, what’s this tradition?"
Si Mingjing wasn’t very clear either. She said, "There wasn’t such a thing when I got married."
